More Than Half of the Non-Governmental-Employee People Hillary Met With Personally Donated to the Clinton Financial Wellness Fund

Hmm.

More than half?

That's kind of a lot.

More than half the people outside the government who met with Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of state gave money - either personally or through companies or groups - to the Clinton Foundation. It's an extraordinary proportion indicating her possible ethics challenges if elected president.

At least 85 of 154 people from private interests who met or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to her family charity or pledged commitments to its international programs, according to a review of State Department calendars released so far to The Associated Press. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million. At least 40 donated more than $100,000 each, and 20 gave more than $1 million.

Donors who were granted time with Clinton included an internationally known economist who asked for her help as the Bangladesh government pressured him to resign from a nonprofit bank he ran; a Wall Street executive who sought Clinton's help with a visa problem and Estee Lauder executives who were listed as meeting with Clinton while her department worked with the firm's corporate charity to counter gender-based violence in South Africa.

The meetings between the Democratic presidential nominee and foundation donors do not appear to violate legal agreements Clinton and former president Bill Clinton signed before she joined the State Department in 2009. But the frequency of the overlaps shows the intermingling of access and donations, and fuels perceptions that giving the foundation money was a price of admission for face time with Clinton. Her calendars and emails released as recently as this week describe scores of contacts she and her top aides had with foundation donors.

Meanwhile, Trump is demanding the appointment of a special prosecutor to give an independent review of the legality of this -- forcing the media to admit the existence of special prosecutors for the first time in Barack Obama's presidency.

See, the concept of a special prosecutor disappeared at the end of the Bush presidency.

That's why they're "special" because they only go one way.

54 The 154 did not include U.S. federal
employees or foreign government representatives. Clinton met with
representatives of at least 16 foreign governments that donated as much
as $170 million to the Clinton charity, but they were not included in
AP's calculations because such meetings would presumably have been part
of her diplomatic duties.

"Presumably"

Except per Clinton Cash she did mingle meetings with world leaders with foundation work. There was an African leader (maybe Kenya?) who was visited by both Hillary and Bill within the same two days, and shortly after received some preferred status for aid from the State Dept.

He promotes common cause in his listeners and he has placed Hillary and Obama on the defensive and they don't know it. His LA action prompted Obama's bitchy reaction and it could only look lame as if following Trump's order or admonishment; he's forcing the press to answer for Hillary who is absent and he holds the spotlight. He has set the old saw of "don't argue with people who buy ink by the barrel full" aside and replaced it with "don't argue with the people who SELL ink by the barrel full." It's like watching a Douglas MacArthur type who transcends the entire process and has rewritten political campaign strategy. And this will build.

96 As I've mentioned before, I am not a fan of a special prosecutor - at least under the old law which I found unconstitutional. What Trump really wants is for someone special on the executive side to look into this. However, that new person would be under Obama's control, so not sure what that does.

But the rhetoric is probably good. I don't like the term special prosecutors, but it makes for a good soundbite.

Fuck the Memo of Understanding, negotiated by ValJar and Cheryl Mills. There are statutes that got violated.

The MoU called for an "agency ethics official" to review compliance. Care to guess who it was? Cheryl Mills.

Among other violations of the MoU, was that the names of 1,000 donors funneled through the Canadian affiliate of the Foundation haven't been disclosed.

Federal statutes generally prohibit US officials from getting anything of value from foreign interests. No proof of quid pro quo required.

173 since I mentioned the benefits of alcohol thing, I think it was '60 Minutes' maybe in the 1980s that ran a piece on a long term (like 20 years) study in Denmark -- minimal immigration, basically very similar people of the same ethnic group -- that seemed to show that 3 to 5 glasses of wine (maybe only red wine) a day could lower one's probability of heart disease by perhaps 50 percent. Beer? uh-uh. Hard liquor? definitely uh-uh.

oh, clip on Fox just now of Hillery on Kimmel's show last night saying that her emails are very boring. I am sure that there is nothing exciting about political graft and payola. Jamoo what's-her-name going on about the wonderful work the Clinton foundation does for aids patients in Africa.

10. Set out candles or lanterns.

Provide mood lighting -- and keep guests comfortable -- with bug-deterring luminarie. For a sophisticated get-together, try a lantern like Thermacell's mosquito repellent patio lantern, which can be hung or placed on a flat surface. ($19, amazon.com)

However, if you're looking to party late into the night, consider longer-lasting candles. Wax that contains geraniol is much more effective than citronella at repelling mosquitoes, so make sure you look for candles that specifically contain this ingredient.

Whatever sources you're using, you'll want to strategically place your lights to ensure adequate coverage. Most of these products repel up to a 15-inch by 15-inch square foot area, but check the packaging and then place accordingly.

I happened to put on Fox today while doing laundry and cleaning, etc.

It was the show Outnumbered or w/e. With some guy, dunno who he was.

It was basically Trump bashing.

Some other show came on today, with a woman and two guests. Trump bashing.

I had no idea the day time Fox News was all that.

And the Constitution gives the Congress the Authority to decide WHO appoints positions... the President, a Cabinet Member, or even the Supreme Court itself...

Thus, the Congress can enact a Statute (if it could get past the Veto) which make it possible to appoint a Special Prosecutor, and Fund it... and give it authority to Prosecute... there is no Constitutional Prohibition.

413 As I stated... under the LAW... Laws which Congress passes...

I'm just going to end it by saying that Scalia said it was unconstitutional as well. I'm sure his dissent makes a much better case than I can.

I can see why so many conservatives are bashing Trump. Hillary is their idea of modern American conservatism. The conservatism that the Bush family trained this party to be like. Dana Perino's kind of conservatism.

Seriously conservatism is dead, or at least my kind of conservatism is dead. We need a new name, I have been going with "nationalist" for some time but that also has its own baggage.

419 Undefeated boxer Dustin Fleischer had a second bar mitzvah on Masada during a Birthright Israel trip.

Fleischer, nicknamed The White Tiger, was part of an Aug. 10-21 Birthright Israel trip sponsored by the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey, based in the central part of the state. He is the grandson of a Holocaust survivor.

The service was incredible and brought tears of joy to peoples eyes, the New Jersey fighter wrote in the Forward. It was an amazing feeling and I was honored to be bar mitzvahed alongside the members of my Birthright group. Afterwards, we celebrated this rite of passage with a camel ride through the desert.

Fleischer, 27, is a junior welterweight with a 6-0 record, including five knockouts.

He told the New Jersey Jewish News earlier this summer that he became interested in traveling to Israel after he attended a community Birthright orientation offered by the federation.

No fear, the last thing I would want to do is touch a bat, lol.

We have a friend who was on a picnic with his family. They went into a cave, and when they came out, unbeknownst to him, there was a bat on his shirt. He wondered why everyone started screaming and running away.

And, one of my friends here opened the door to her basement one day, and there was a bat hanging on it.

The bats we have look very wonky when they fly. I know they're not supposed to bother us, but I'm not convinced that one of them won't go rogue.

Sometimes they roost on our porch out in West Texas, but that's a different kind of bat. Yes, they poop, but so do the birds that also roost there. One bird roosts on top of the plastic owl that was hung there to scare off the birds.

As far as grounded bats, as I said most times they're sick, but if you're near a maternity colony, sometimes a bat on the ground is a juvenile getting the hang of flying and just needs a boost back into the air.

You shouldn't touch them unless you know what you're doing. I'm such a weirdo, but I actually took a bat workshop given by the best bat experts in the country. I had to get rabies shots before going.

As I said the other day, half of the electorate believes that if either of them had actually done anything illegal, they would have been charged, impeached, whatever. Since they weren't that means they didn't do anything illegal, or at least nothing worse than anyone else has done.

Between a lazy, fearful Rep Congress and a corrupt Justice dept. whose only real mission is to investigate and charge police departments, water departments. Republican governors, dictate policy to local schools, universities, promote transgender and gays and deign them rights no one else has, foster racial tensions, interfere with state elections and how they are conducted and most of all, protect the adminstration and it's supporters from any and all legal charges, it's no wonder those who aren't immersed in understanding what is actually going on don't believe what conservatives are saying.

482 OK, which of you has been playing Bingo in Houston?>>>

From the link
"Police believe some $15 million in illegal funds was laundered over the
last four years, some of which was used to purchase the cache of guns,
ammunition and equipment found in what Anderson described as a "doomsdayish" bunker."

Doomdayish? WTF that looked like a sweet setup of stuff to me. Or what my bunker would look like if I won the Powerball.

The Confederacy used a lot of guano. Now it's mined for fertilizer.

I'm sitting here starving and I'm thinking I have beef broth and a dried crust of bread for croutons, so what do I need for French Onion soup besides onions, which I don't have either.

But I went over the Foodnetwork and found a recipe by Alton Brown. . . .

but now I know what cheese I need. and onions, and a few other things.

And that's how a $700.00 grocery bill happens......

489 "I think Mike Rowe will be endorsing Trump soon.

It's seems he's had enough of this bullshit."

If he doesn't, it'll only be because ordinarily he stays out of partisan politics. He wants his causes to have support from both sides.

490 453 Here's an evil question. If you had no other choice, even death not an option, what would you rather? Hillary being elected President for next four years or four more years of Obama?

Hillary. One, she's in terrible health, and two, I think after she's elected the press will be less kind to her.

Also because I think she'll stroke out on stage and my evil half* will dance a tarantella of joy.

*"half" -- hah!

491 It's only August. check out David Sirota's work at ibtimes. He's been writing about Hillary's corruption for a while. The real problem as I see it is the nevertrumpers and the Bush criminals who still hold enough sway in the GOP to throw the election to Hillary. I think a whole lot of people are tired of funding wars in the Middle East and watching jobs move overseas, but the Bush-Romney types who love NAFTA etc still own an awful lot of the GOP.

Spent (wasted?) some time reading WaPo and NYT comments re: CGI and CF and there are a lot of people who just refuse to believe that there could be anything untoward going on.

"Of course travel expenses are high, it's a global charity." and "Of course the money isn't being passed through to local causes, CGI and CF are doing the charity work, that's why salaries are so high." and "But (insert left-leaning 'watchdog organization' here) gave them an A rating.

I know some of those saying this are MMfA trolls, but there are plenty of supposedly educated people who lap that crap up and regurgitate it all over the place.

493 WTF was wrong with those who DIDN'T play ball? Did they miss the memo?

Kidding! It's all just 85 repeated misunderstandings, that kept happening again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again. 494 The other 50% that got meetings are the secret donors that donated through Canada.

I think somebody on the Clinton team figured out the traceability of the donations and switched everyone over donating through the Canadian Clinton Crime Family affiliate .

499 Trump should hammer home the "government corruption" in each speech and give two good factual examples that tie the Perl to democrats and Hillary at the end. He. Be fact checked to death but so what. Think Harry Reid and how he got his money.

500 Yet, she'll still win by 5-8 because we nominated a moderate liberal from Manhattan with 40% of the vote who's running for president so he can start a TV station.
