I have a relative who pulled a number like this on her husband, who was a very decent guy.
It didn't work out so well for her. The boyfriend that she cheated with took advantage of her financially for awhile and never did marry her. They ended up in an ugly lawsuit. Sometimes people get what they deserve.

I don't really find it silly. Women evolved to find a mate who will take care of her and the offspring. If that mate can't do it, she may have to find another who can. That seems pretty simple to me, and probably partially true. The converse is this, typically the genetic father will be the best one to provide because a father is going to provide more for his genetic offspring than someone else's. The whole goal is to avoid looking for a back up plan, because the first plan is the best plan.

Agree. My female acquaintances fall into two categories. Dumb shits who married because it was the thing to do and they wanted the big wedding and princess bride crap, etc. They assumed, due to a genetic predisposition that all women have, that they are in control and can change said man into their ideal mate, even though their idea of that changes every two years. Finally , divorce ensues, either they leave, or husband can't take it anymore, since men are pretty simply black and white creatures and husband decides it isn't worth the suffering. Those women end up back on the hunt, usually well before the closet even has his clothes out of it.
Then there are the women who marry someone who they are pretty compatible with. They resign themselves eventually to accepting that the only changes that will occur will be because it's his idea. It's not a big deal,because for the most part, they have the same philosphy, temperment, ideals, values, etc. Including tolerance.
Few of those women find themselves divorced. Sadly, some have found themselves widowed and I have not known any of my few widow friends to move on to new relationships other than an occasional date that they just do once.
As my one widowed friend said, "I've had the love of my life, I'm not interested in trying to make someone else live up to that".
The study is idiotic. But they no doubt got a huge grant for it so they can pay rent, eat out, drive, and vacation without having to work.

Then the next sentence is the study that shows a correlation between the length of a woman's ring finger and the likelihood she would cheat on her partner.
And the NEXT sentence says, but they could find no causal link.
This dumb story is just clickbait. Every other sentence contradicts the one before.

Very simplistic but I have found this to be true 100% of the time:
When out with a date, watch how he/she treats service people. Be it a waiter, doorman, sales person, etc. if they treat them with as lessers - don't walk - run. That is a true window to a person's soul in my experience and will show you exactly who they are.

There are many studies out there. For example one large study during WWII is available.
It is tons of information to take in but basically the best genes and the best providers rarely match up.
In Western society the laws along with all the money and influence leans towards favoriing and maximizing the female sexual strategy which is hypergamy.
We can map the entire human genome, but we can't come up with a pillow for birth control for men. That is a great example of the dominant strategy being the female sexual strategy. Also abortion without telling the father is another.
As I stated earlier, There are legitimate sound reasoning behind a dowery and/or the children being the property of the father because women historically will have been known to wander off. Please note this is across cultures and throughout history.
Also, it is necessary to view these issues from a amoral standpoint at the beginning.
If you want studies Bing or Google the Red Pill. Plenty out there. Also look into feminist teachings as well. Good to look at all aides of a complex issue.
