The youth vote 18-34 in the LaTimes poll is interesting. First no trump, then trump, then interest dropped, now trend line rising again. Tied, for all intensive purposes.

I think the MSM, with 24/7 overkill, have damaged themselves worse than Trump. The more presidential he looks and acts, the greater the divide between what the press says and what people see with their own eyes.

18 I think Trump focusing on Democrats' disservice to the Black Community is a smart move. Even if it doesn't win over any black votes, it forces the MFM to talk about, it puts Democrats on the defensive, it helps defuse the 'racist' tag, and it gives 'moderate' white voters something they can agree with Trump on without looking racist.

THIS X INFINITY.

Every election cycle for at least the last 20 odd years has been the narrative of "Democrats/Liberals good, sane and reasonable" with the concomitant GOP countering "we're not racist/evil/greedy, we have freebies too!"

For once, put the disinfectant of sunshine on their record of destruction, nice and loud and repeatedly. Make them defend it, which they can't, and go in for the kill.

If it manages to create a lightbulb moment for even a small percentage of not only American blacks, but on Democrats in general, it might do some real and lasting good.

25 Top Hillary Clinton confidante Huma Abedin played no formal role in a radical Muslim journal even though she was listed as an editor on the hate filled periodicals masthead for a dozen years, a campaign rep claimed Sunday.

My understanding is that her name was simply listed on the masthead in that period, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said hours after The Post broke the bombshell story. She did not play a role in editing at the publication.

Yeah Sure, and if Trump's name was on the letterhead of the KKK, no biggie either right? Right Right Right? LMAO

As a corollary to Trump's much needed statement about the Democrat-created destruction of black America, perhaps he can also talk about the conservative ethic of self-sufficiency and the evils/dangers of relying on Uncle Sugar?

Might be just the slap in the face the American people need, or are we too far gone to be convinced to give up "entitlements?"

32 While I was at the rally, I got two speak to a couple of people, one guys said he had not voted in 12 years, the other identified himself as a republican, but said he voted for Bill once, and voted for Obama the first term, then regretted it. He said he was not going to vote for Hillary but was deciding between Johnson and Trump.

I do believe there is this "invisible" voter block thing, and my concern was although they are enthusiastic for Trump, will they actually show up? But after standing in line outside in the extreme heat with them for 3 hours and then inside for another 3 hours before Donald even spoke, I think it's safe to assume that most if not all of these people will show up to vote.

Getting that vote is not easy. You are dealing with a culture that has been brainwashed for nearly 40+ years into believing anyone who goes to school, stays on the straight and narrow and tries to live as an American is a sell-out, Uncle Tom, "cornball brother," not "authentic" etc., and that the system is rigged against them.

If - big IF - that message can be exposed as the lie that it is, it would be a major turning point in the history of this country. For the better, IMHO.

Thanks, it was very peaceful, only a few protesters who showed up in Donald Duck costume, but they were kept away from the line, and then one little car, I think it was fiat drove by the line and flipped everyone off, other than that it was smooth sailing. I did notice quite a few Secret Service detail in the crowd as well as several undercover officers.

43 36 34 "Trump said African Americans are being "played" by the Democratic Party...."

This strategy (which I recommended months ago) will be far more important than people give it credit for today.

If Trump convinces 15% of blacks they are getting a raw deal from democrats, this election is in the bag. It doesn't take much to convince 15% of any group, especially a group prone to thinking of themselves as victims, that they have been on the losing end of bad deal.

As long as the prick signs each pardon individually, I don't think there's any way to stop it. Of course the slimy fuck will use an autopen (I'm guessing here) because he'd get writer's cramp signing 13,000 pardons in a day.

We had a similar situation here in MS a few years back. Haley Barbour, our about to be ex-gubner, signed a bunch of pardons on his last day, including for several murderers. One went on to murder again, in short order. So the legislature ginned up a new law restricting that power in future gubners, and the new gubner signed it.

That's the only 'fix' I know of though.

I'm met a number of people who moved up to the Shreveport/Bossier area after Katrina. We may get another influx, tho' this article doesn't think so. It is different.

>>According to a preliminary analysis released Friday by the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, 31 percent of the homes in metro Baton Rouge were identified as being in areas that saw flood waters. That's more than 110,000 homes.

>>Livingston Parish was the hardest hit. The BRAC report estimates that 87 percent of the homes in the parish were in areas that experienced flooding, while parish officials have said they believe up to 75 percent of the parish's homes could have taken on water.

Which makes me wonder what exactly black Americans think being "authentic" means. To keep living at the lower end of the economic scale? Rampant crime, drugs, destitution, hopelessness, perpetual anger? You either want to stay living that way, or change. And if change is considered not being authentically black, then they've got a real conundrum.

72 From another article at The Advocate re the Cajun Navy:

>>Three men on a bass boat -- whom Witholder called "heroes" -- grabbed the family, including their dogs and cats, and drove them out over the tops of completely submerged cars.

>>"I don't know their names," Witholder wrote in an email. "Regular men, going out of their way, using their own time and resources to help us get all dogs, cats, and children safely in a boat in the pouring rain. We were not able to bring the carry on with our clothes or the bag of food and water I had packed. There was no time. Too many people needed help. Everyone in our neighborhood needed help."

...

>>Residents commandeered fishing boats from driveways or handed off canoes to total strangers. Families floated possessions out in kiddie pools and pulled along relatives atop wooden pallets or air mattresses as sheriff's deputies and National Guard soldiers motored past. One man inside an aluminum flat-bottom boat used a shovel as a paddle and headed into the water on Lockhart Road to check on an aunt.

One more:

>>By Tuesday, the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office had developed an organized volunteer system based out of the Cabela's parking lot in Gonzales. At the mega store where hunting and fishing equipment is sold, flat boats in trailers and high water vehicles waited in the parking lot to continue the search in the southern end of Ascension.

Volunteers waited under tents as they signed up, got their directions from sheriff's deputies and sometimes a deputy escort.

I think Trump focusing on Democrats' disservice to the Black Community
is a smart move. Even if it doesn't win over any black votes, it forces
the MFM to talk about, it puts Democrats on the defensive, it helps
defuse the 'racist' tag, and it gives 'moderate' white voters something
they can agree with Trump on without looking racist.

Posted by: V the K at August 22, 2016 08:01 AM (O7MnT)

Not to mention everything he is saying is true
=========
For some 30 to 50 years now.

And not one of the spineless shitbags the GOPe has put up has ever even come close to saying anything close to what Trump is saying.

The other benefit of this--connected to the defusing part--is that it gives blacks a reason to stay home; "Trump's not that bad"

As I've said before, not only does Hillary have to get the 98%+ Obama got of the black vote, she also has to get the same level of turnout, without the benefit of skin color--that's a huge hurdle no one in the media is talking about.
(which is a good thing, keep Team D in the dark about their biggest problems)

In a nutshell, one person at MEMA (our state version of FEMA) had total authority to sign contracts, and then stonewalled the FEMA IG's office when documentation was requested. She's been fired. Other heads have rolled as well. Maybe corruption, maybe some jail time down the road.

Now if only the State Department IG could track down that missing $6 billion that can't be accounted for during Hillary's term as SOS...

I don't blame him. I'm glad he had the guts to tell them to stop.

I know he's not popular around here, and I know why, but I will say this for him. About 5 years ago his grandson graduated from the same high school as my niece, and he was the commencement speaker.

He gave an excellent speech, aimed, for once, not at all the high flyers who were going to go out and change the world, but at the kids who were not great students. He told how he himself was not a great student in high school. He went to the local community college, and it was there he discovered ROTC, and discovered that being a soldier was something he was really good at. He went on about how working hard was the only way to get anywhere, etc.

It was an excellent speech, especially in contrast to the chosen valedictorian's "we are the greatest class this high school ever had" speech.

241 I got awakened early by strong wind making a draft in the bedroom, and rattling the windows. Got up, and went around and closed all the windows. Wind was fierce, out of the Northwest. Got on the computer, and checked for weather warnings. Thundershowers and rain in forecast. Now the wind has abated to a steady strong breeze, and it's raining lightly. Just what we need as harvest approaches, not.

If there was nothing there (or if they had a water-tight lie in place), they'd pull the Obama rope-a-dope.

Here, they've gone to the hysterics, most notably with: "It's sexist!!!"

When they're not trying to ignore it, they're trying to make any discussion off limits.

They've also attempted the "it's old news/she already released her records" lie, given that the "release" is a form letter with no specifics from 2015.

Oh, what a load of BS!!

This was known several years ago when Michelle Bachman and a handful of others in Congress expressed concern about certain people in the Obama admin who would not have passed a security clearance review. Huma was the most obvious one they were referencing. Huma's MB connections, regardless of whether she actually edited that journal (and she did, it's been reported on as fact in the past), her family connections and relationship w/the journal's owner, a known terror-sponsoring Imam (according to US govt.), would have made her ineligible to have security clearance.

Questions we used to get answers to, when the government used to have to answer questions, that is. Rather that operate independently of anyone's oversight (i.e. Congress, the Press,... the People).
