OK, so last week I had to go renew my driver's license and I stand in front of the camera with a big smile as the dmv lady snaps my picture. Then she says, "Oh, we have to do that again, you weren't looking directly at the camera." Before I have a chance to smile again, she takes a second picture and says "this one is it."
I got my new license in the mail yesterday and once again I look like I am posing for a mug shot or have a severe migraine. The exact same thing happened with the last license. It's like the dmv people want to make sure you look as miserable as they are. I'm irritated that I have to show this picture of a (seemingly) scowling, angry woman for the next 8 years. Obama's regulatory regime has cost America $743 billion dollars. "Based on data provided by agencies, it's at least $743 billion . . . and 194 million paperwork hours. (Pres. Bush issued roughly $2 billion in major rules in 2009). To put those figures in perspective: - $743 billion is larger than the GDP of Norway and Israel combined. - It is a $2,294 regulatory imposition on every person in the USA. - In the equivalent amount of time to complete 194 million additional hours of paperwork, it would take 97,429 employees working full time (2,000 hrs/yr) to comply with these new federal requirements. Roughly the population of Albany, NY working full-time filling out government forms. . ." https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2016/08 /obamas-regulatory-regime-has-cost-americans-a-whopping-743-billion Posted by: J.J. Speaking of stupid muzzie lawfare, Clock boy is now suing the Texas school that had him arrested for bringing his faux bomb to school. Says daddy lost his job, & boy had to leave school, and he's going to have to move back to Qatar, which he hates, because Texas is now so full of muzzie haters that the family is getting death threats. Clock boy also claims that all the stress has caused him to "lose his creativity." LOL.
Of course, daddy voluntarily quit his job so he could move the family to Qatar, Clock boy told the press at the time that he was planning on transferring schools anyway, Clock boy was also celebrated and feted by the MSM due to his arrest, invited to the White House, offered jobs by Google and other lefty tech idiots, and repeatedly photographed in the media wearing a big shit-eating grin on his face because his faux-bomb scam had worked out so well. The family voluntarily moved to Qatar, then voluntarily moved back to Texas after they found out that life in an all-muzzie shithole was not such a dream after all. And they made a public announcement that they were moving back to Texas, despite all the "death threats" they claim Texans have been sending their way. Now they're blaming the school because their life isn't as perfect as they think it should be. Miserable fraudsters. Those candidates that are willing to be seen with Trump are those looking for voters. Those that aren't are those looking to protect their donor credentials. As I see it, the entire structure of the GOP and its subsidiary organizations is being challenged. Those who have been on top, or in position of power in anyway in the party and in the S.O. (the consultants, think-tankers, foundation academics, columnists, pundits, etc.) are having their comfortable world changed and they are resisting. Of course not all are - the RNC seems to have surrendered and been - for now - co-opted, but many are. This is why the Tea Party got stiff-armed by these guys, it threatened to replace them. Trump and his supporters are threatening to do the same. This is not over, and I dare say it will continue onward until some sort of accommodation is made. I'm not holding my breath. If a republican winning is dependent on being on message and on point 100pct of the time then that is an unrealistic standard and a republican will structurally never be able to win the Presidnecy.
Remember Romney's 47pct "gaffe" was said in private and was only brought to light when a democrat operative secreted among the guests recorded it and released it. So if your a Republican you have to even watch what you say in private for fear of it being spun against you. Baltimore police officers routinely discriminate against blacks, repeatedly use excessive force and are not adequately held accountable for misconduct, according to a harshly critical Justice Department report being presented Wednesday.
... now if this isn't the pot calling the kettle black. Tell me how the DOJ 'adequately held accountable" their lawyers who railroaded Sen Ted Stevens (R-AK) just before the 2008 election. "The meticulous detail paints a picture of the government's shocking conduct in which prosecutors repeatedly ignored the law. The Report shows how prosecutors abandoned their oath of office and the ethical standards of their profession. They abandoned all decency and sound judgment when they indicted and prosecuted an 84-year old man who served his country in World War II combat, and who served with distinction for 40 years in the U.S. Senate." Four DOJ lawyers, including William Welch II, chief of the Justice Department's Public Integrity Section; Brenda Morris, his principal deputy chief and former lead prosecutor in the case, public integrity prosecutors Edward Sullivan and Nick Marsh; and Alaska-based assistant U.S. attorneys James Goeke and Joseph Bottini, were in contempt for failure to comply with the judge's orders. ... so where did William Welch go after this disgrace ? ... All this pounding on Trump is killing the media...
They are used to being able to destroy a politician with the hint of a rumor. Now, Trump does stuff every day that would end the career of any other candidate and he skates away scott free. With the constant drone of Trump did this or Trump did that, the public is tuning them out. Nobody believes that these incidents are really important because it's impossible to have that many really important gaffes every day. One unintended consequence for the media is that they are losing what little credibility they had left by dropping their mask of unbias coverage and openly calling for the election of Hillary. The fake outrage is wearing thin on viewers. If Mika Brzezinski rolls her eyes one more time they will fall out of her head. You can't be that upset about every word out of Trump's mouth no matter who you favor in the election. Trump's win in November will be historic due to it being a win over the press. To me, this is amazing. This is a whole new massive crime. And the reaction is utterly muted. I had some fun with my grandsons recently. Showed them ''the test' to see if anyone was peeing in the pool. Carefully explained that pee is lighter than water, so if you dunk the test kit *slightly* below the surface you can capture some.
(Of course you've already added the drops of solution to the bottom of the kit. Those chemicals turn yellow upon contact with the chlorine in water.) So I approach the pool, take a minute carefully dipping the test kit slowly into water. Rapt attention from all. Then the ah ha moment when the test kit fills with bright yellow water. 'Got some'. G'morning Horde.
Yes, there was a primary yesterday, but why? I quickly scanned the non-finalized results last night and as usual, if you don't die or vacate your seat willingly there is no chance you'll be supplanted by an upstart. At least in Wi. As some of you know, I voted for Nehlen against Ryan, mostly as a protest vote, because winning in the convincing fashion he did won't give him pause that he may be on the wrong track. I expected Nehlen to lose, but hoped he'd do better than polls showed, but alas, he did worse. I'm not saying he was a great candidate, but still, your vote is your voice with a number on it, and what Wi said last night is that Ryan is exactly who we want. Sigh. Every other incumbent cruised equally easily, some unopposed. Wi is a state with maybe two toss up districts, so status quo for the win, baby! Toss in a president Hellary and the leftward pointing marching band can up their tempo another 10 beats per minute. Posted by: OneEyedJack at August 10, 2016 09:26 AM (kKHcp) 214

Yeah, yesterdays outrage over Trumps statement went unanswered by those who could have made an alternative case besides the "violent rhetoric" meme the press went with.
What he said was that Hillary would pass anti-gun laws and a stacked judiciary would uphold them. Then he went on, and I paraphrase "and there's nothing you can do about it. The second amendment folks may have some other ideas" Where were all the pro 2A groups to point out that recent laws in NY and Conn have met with less than 20% compliance, and that is a non-violent response to bad law? Crickets (so far) There's a whole continuum of resistance options from quiet non-compliance to organized "fill-up-the-jails" non-compliance that could be used before men hit the streets with loaded guns. Crickets. Somebody with the media's ear better start talking today. Posted by: OneEyedJack at August 10, 2016 09:43 AM (kKHcp) 265

The "for the good of the country" angle is interesting, since it's basically a free pass to do anything they want to Trump. Anything that would be considered bad form, cheating, slimy, what-have-you, can now be written off as "just trying to save America from Hitler!".
The debates will easily fall into that category. Since they've convinced all the "smart" set that a vote for Trump means you're an inbred racist (who didn't see that coming??), the BIG money donors will poor hundreds of millions into campaign ads for Hillary. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if the MSM just gave Hillary free ad time, assuming the FCC or FEC wouldn't find out until after the race and would then say "nothing to see here..sure it was criminal, but...but...TRUMP!" I don't hold much hope that Trump can defeat the forces arrayed against him without divine intervention or something on Hillary that simply cannot be covered up, lest the UN intervene and say "ok guys, we were good with everything but this shit is a bridge too far." 176 All this pounding on Trump is killing the media...
Posted by: jwest at August 10, 2016 09:00 AM (Zs4uk) Yeah, no. Every single woman where I work was screeching this morning about how "Trump told white men to murder Hillary".
