My father lived until he was in his late nineties. There are all kinds of careers in health professions. This is where to direct kids. As the population ages there is going to be a increasing need for everything from nurses, to occupational therapists, to xray technicians. So, here's what I'm getting from the abstract:

1. Steep slopes encourage risk taking and demonstrations of athletic prowess.

2. Risk taking and athletic displays are inherently masculine

3. Ski areas are constructed in such a way as to "privilege" the steep slopes.

4. The less steep slopes are off to the side, i.e. "marginalized."

5. Ergo, the construction of ski areas is sexist.

Now, we can poke all kinds of holes in the assumptions behind those statements, but what he never seems to consider is the fact that the ski areas are like that BECAUSE THE GODDAMN MOUNTAINS ARE LIKE THAT. Ahem. Sorry for shouting.
