Megyn Kelly Partying with CNN at 3am: is She Finally Leaving Fox?

This is what a feminist looks like.

Meanwhile, reports say that there is nothing but "icy silence" between Kelly and co-moderators Brit Hume and Bret Baier when the cameras are off. Mostly they just play with their smartphones during commercials.

Which, if I'm being honest, actually just sounds like Standard American Behavior in 2016. Plus, what the hell can you say to someone after three or four days of forced chirpy interactions for three hours a day? I was pretty much exhausted by the podcasts and they were only an hour and a half, once a week.

But anyway, I do figure she's going her own way.

Kelly was praised for bucking the party line while at Fox, showing her fiery independence.

Something tells me that when she gets to CNN, she'll be dropping that independent streak, and won't buck the CNN party line much at all.

I hate to be right about everything all the time -- believe me, it's a tedious existence when the world holds no surprises for you -- but my prediction of two or three years running that the college-educated cohort's absolute refusal to throw any bones to their non-partners the working class -- and the working class' inevitable revolt -- and then the college crowd's emotionally-wounded counter-revolt, would break this party in half seems to be coming true, exactly as predicted.

Now quick someone tell me there is no "class" in America and certainly no class-based politics.

I think this is probably the best explanation. I work with the public seven hours a day, six days a week and the last thing I want to do once I lock my doors for the day is say "hi" to anyone, much less carry on some sort of conversation.

The hell of it is these elites with their egos actually begin to believe their own bullshit. The competition to get a big paying network job is fierce so when they get their the "I've earned it" attitude sets in even if they remember how hard it was. I do have to say that I like that most of the idiots have smart phones and spend their time playing whatever on them instead of pestering normal people. It makes the world much more pleasant.

Meghywynn Kelly probably spends her down time on her smart phone looking at video of herself. I wonder if she knows that she's cock-eyed?

141 I hate to be right about everything all the time -- believe me, it's a
tedious existence when the world holds no surprises for you -- but my
prediction of two or three years running that the college-educated
cohort's absolute refusal to throw any bones to their non-partners the
working class -- and the working class' inevitable revolt -- and then
the college crowd's emotionally-wounded counter-revolt, would break this
party in half seems to be coming true, exactly as predicted.

Now quick someone tell me there is no "class" in America and certainly no class-based politics.

--
If you're right, the Dems are going to rule the country until a new coalition forms that can stop them. The "college-educated cohort" will find it easier to blend with the Dems than to optically merge with the "working class," as you put it.
Yes, its stupid -- its form-based nonsense that has nothing to do with substance or content. But it does have to do with where people live. The college-educated "smart set" lives by and large in urban and suburban environments. They are surrounded by liberals and dems. Its easier to play the optics game in that environment when you have someone running who isn't an optical embarrassment to your class.

There is no longer much of a bond between classes, because there is not much class movement, thanks to socialism and "guaranteed" programs.

One of the most important distinguishing characteristics of a class-based society (or just "classes" of that sort existing within a society) is that there is no real mobility. That is the essence of "class" in society, not that different people are treated differently for whatever reasons.

America has no such characteristic. Mobility in America is greater than anywhere else and pretty much always has been. That is the antithesis of "class".

Not in your delicate condition, young lady.

I think the law has cracked down on these things but I can tell you what it was like back in the day.

They sold little metal bottles of NO2 that had a threaded end. You were supposed to screw them into a whipped cream maker, which is just a pressurized vessel in which the NO2 would turn cream into whipped cream. (I did this on a more industrial scale in restaurant jobs).

Someone came up with a way to thread something on to the opening that would pierce the seal and let all the NO2 out, and with really rugged balloons to catch it.

So you fill the balloon with NO2, hold it closed, put it in your mouth and breathe in two big lungfuls of laughing gas.

It made you giddy and everything around you would go na-na-na-na for a while and in a minute or so it was over.

Word. They don't grow their own food. Water usually comes from elsewhere. Power generation is regional these days. If things come apart first they'll stream out, but that will clog up all the roads and such. The ones trapped and left behind will get desperate. Eventually a second wave will come out as the survivors that went full Reaver start their rampages.

It's not funny because it's true.

The July 14, 2016 notification, signed by Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, indicated he intended to name a planned Military Sealift Command fleet oiler USNS Harvey Milk (T-AO-206). The ship would be the second of the John Lewis-class oilers being built by General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego, Calif.

But there is a distinction to be drawn between "class" as it is traditionally used and just describing groups of people with common goals, likes, or purposes. The first amendment addresses everyone's right to organize and band with those who want to do stuff together. It isn't a declaration of "class", as that term is understood in these sorts of discussions.

Now, the left wants a class-based society (mostly two classes, the left and all the humans who work and slave for them) and pushes for this (the idiot hippies worshipped the Indians, with their caste system), having a not-insignificant effect, but even so, there is less of a concept of "class" in America than anywhere else .... so far.

Maybe it is because the bar is set so high when you meet them you are like meh. Or maybe it is the CGI and airbrushing and heavy makeup.

Case in point is Jessica Beal. When Iived in Boulder in the early 2000's I rented a place in south boulder that had access to the neighborhood pool of Bear My Drive area. Now don't get me wrong Jessica Beal is pretty and very sweet and down to earth, but her friends blew her out of the water. They also dock blocked me and a friend inviting her to grill out for a pre game before going out.

Reese Witherspoon is incredible. Cute. Sweet. Polite. And Ryan Philippe is an ace. Super cool and polite.

I don't disagree with you class analysis, its always been a factor in politics and for years Dems have had the inside track with blue collar workers. It was with our old friends at the SCOTUS, and their emanations-and-penumbras decree in _Griggs v. Duke Power_. Suddenly employers couldn't filter people in basic trades with things like a simple IQ test. Rayciss eleventy! Stop that! So instead those employers switched to filtering via a university diploma.

2) Hannity? I hated Hannity and Colmes without even mentioning Colmes. Dear God, I got tired of hearing from Dick Morris.

3) Greta? That weird twist she has to her mouth and her accent bothered the hell out of me.

The only exceptions for me- I really liked Neil Cavuto and Red Eye.

Aside from that, I never really enjoy the reinforcement. I usually cannot even stand to listen to Rush.

453 ace, as to class, I think it's reasonable to apply a re-worked version of Churchill's description of democracy: America's class situation is not perfect, but it's less worse than all the rest.

There's really no comparison to almost any other place. Though I think Australia, and Israel, might be interesting case studies on the class thing.

I believe "social mobility", as defined by various measurable things like income/wealth over and within generations, or even individuals over time, has declined markedly in the US in the recent past.

Not hard to figure why. But I think most of the "class" barriers or features that account for this are attributable - seat yourselves, prepare - to the usual culprit: growth of the state and growth of politically-determined factors in social outcomes.

465 I think the Big Deal, as far as the class thing goes, is not that Ace's theory is 100% comprehensive.

It's that being a conservative, a limited-government lover of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and a despiser of Progressivism, is the thing that makes class less relevant. We can be richer or poorer or whatever, but under the law, we are equal. It's The Law that is supposed to not recognize class.

A lot of the Fox News "folks" have made their name pretending to be those sorts of conservatives, when in fact (shocking Act 2 reveal!) their loyalty to their class trumps any love of limited government.

That, to me, is the point of the class rant.

The thing with Megyn, years ago when she was a rising star, she made a yuuuuuge effort to pander to the right-wing Fox viewers, and a bunch of us got sucked in because she's smart, said all the right things and she's hawt. I got sucked in too, don't get me wrong.

But in retrospect, there was always that once in awhile where she let the mask slip, I later thought of it as her "Suburban Professional Mommy" act. And once Trump came on the scene, she just said "Fuckit. I'm poised to be a STAAAAAARRRR. Time to brush up my resume."

Bottom line is, she's just as much of a shameless, careerist, pandering carny barker as the rest of the MFM cocksuckers.

Posted by: Suppressed Flasher

When I used to watch Fox I liked Greta. She was one of the best, there. She was generally fair, pretty smart and did her homework. I never saw anything that indicated she had religious issues of any sort. I never knew her religion and didn't care.

Where Greta did always have a weakness was with women. She would agree with just about any woman. If there was no woman in a story then Greta was about the best to handle it, but if there was a woman she would bend over backwards for her. Often it didn't matter, as the woman in the story had the correct view ... but on the few occasions where there was a lefty female involved ... Greta was not the one to go to.

Greta did a fantastic job reporting on Zelaya and Barky and the mess in Honduras (and later at the UN with Barky allowing visas for the Honduran terrorist and Zelaya's team instead of the legitimate Honduran reps) and she was about the only journalist in the whole of the mainstream media who covered that story and kept at it.

539 Rationing in WWII is an interesting thing. I think a lot of it had little basis in supply issues, while some things (tires, cuz rubber or synthetic rubber) were definitely tied to war-related production priorities.

Germany had a yuuuuge rationing scandal among the top civilian/military leaders in 1944, I think. Prominent Berlin high-end grocer had been winking at and otherwise collaborating with principals or their wives to secure gourmet items for them, outside the rationing system. Top names - Gen. Keitel, Labor Minister Ley, et al - were caught up in it.

Goebbels actually (aside from cars and a house) had a fairly simple lifestyle and wanted to take a few scalps (he was still Gauleiter of Berlin) to boost the regime's rather tattered integrity image, but was over-ruled.

552 I like emails in a corporate environment. It is the best way to get on the fricking record what is going on and everyone's reaction to it.

For example:
1) You send an email to a coworker asking them to do something or to look into something you noticed that was screwed up.

2) They do nothing. So you send a follow up email and CC your boss. (this also usually takes place with talking to them in person, but the email is the paper trail.)

3) If problem persists, you keep adding more and more people to the cc list.

And keep every email you ever receive. It saves time and grief.

I am not always liked where I work, but dammit I will not suffer stupidity either.

Then, we diverged on politics. She was interviewing Cruz and seemed to be willfully misunderstanding a simple point he was trying to make. It was pretty clear she had to be pulling for someone else and she was letting it affect it her professionally. Then I saw she was for Trump.

Glenn Beck said something nice the other day about Hannity's slavish Trump worship--that Hannity and Trump are longtime friends and at least Hannity is sincere in making his all-out Trump push.

She came out a little to aggressively against Trump in the first debate and a lot of you can't get over the butthurt. It doesn't change the fact that she's been consistently good for years and is now the star* of the most popular cable network.

*(O'Reilly I think gets better ratings, but good god he's a buffoon).

Also, she is hot like a Saturn V launchpad and wears leather a lot.

There are problems with your claims. First someone like ace was not butthurt about her treatment of Trump. It was only afterwards when he saw what she had been doing that she lost him. And there are also others who did not like her well before that first debate. And for others its not that she came out too aggressively at Trump its that she was a joke through the entirety of the Fox debates. That it was obvious that the 3 moderators believed they were the stars of the program everyone was tuning in to watch.

And I blame Megyn Kelly for Trump success. Her opening question wasn't too aggressive. It was stupid and guaranteed that it would end up being the only thing everyone would talk about.

Yes, she's entirely too fixated on her appearance. Even when you see her in photos when she's outside and not working, she's dressed in minis and 4-inch stiletto heels. She's in her 40's and has three kids; what is she trying to prove? It's kind of pathetic.

As a journalist, I always thought she was overrated. And she is no conservative. I don't watch Fox, so I don't care where she goes or what she does, but she should try to get herself some kind of "Access Hollywood" or "Entertainment Tonight" beat, because that seems to be what she is best suited for. Then she can primp and preen and wear skin-tight clothes and sky-high shoes and fit right in with the rest of those narcissists. In a few years, she can go get herself a face lift and some fillers and botox, and look like one of those Kardashians.

Settle down. At the time I was in full Trump bash because I didn't want him nominated. However, Megyn attacked him FROM THE LEFT, using the insane, lunatic pc, "war on women" meme.

Had she "attacked" him from the right or even from the middle, say about Kelo, etc. That would have been fine, but she did not. She attacked FROM THE LEFT, which only serves THE LEFT and discredits her. I haven't watched her since.

624 William Eaton is correct - ships should be named for sailors, soldiers, battles, and American geography. End of story. It has bothered me since the outset (well, "contemporary" outset - there was an "FDR" carrier way back) that carriers have been named for political figures (yes, incl. Reagan). Ridiculous.

Reid on Trump and security. Hmmm, let me think about this for a second - prominent Dem wants to raise, yet again, the topic of classified information security practices, by taking an utterly baseless childish swipe at Trump. I just cannot see any way this could go wrong for a *Hillary Clinton* surrogate, against someone prim and reserved like Trump. Nope, no way (!).

Yes Jackal Goebbels was an odd bird, even by the high standard for that among the Nazis. He actually was, bizarrely, pushing for alliance with the USSR right up until the time he got his first big party job. He quietly dropped all that, and in no time was pioneering the brown shirt street battle element to Nazi politics against the Communists in Berlin. Talk about "flexible".

One should make the same assumption regarding conversations in the office. NEVER assume anything that you say will not be repeated.

Inside or outside the office. Assume that everything you say over drinks will get back to the boss, especially if it is bad.

Company Email is owned by the company. I have seen a persons Email system opened up after they quit, because someone had to take over and keep his projects going. Three people were going through all his Emails, just to get things done.

666 Jackal, if you haven't read it yet, I recommend the Goebbels bio by Longerrich. You are spot on about his personality cult-attachment to der Fuhrer over-rode everything else. And it made his career, and ultimately destroyed him and his family, of course.

Also the various insights and explorations of the regime's domestic political calculations (yes, even totalitarian dictatorships, when imposed on historically civilized polities, have political considerations) you find The German War (forget author's name) are excellent. And Goebbels was the main factor there, though his decisions were sometimes over-ridden (for example the yellow star tag for Jews in public, when he first tried to introduce it in Berlin).

Same with the moving chyrons, shifting backgrounds, bright colors, combative talking, heavily dolled-up hosts/contributors, abbreviated segments. It's not to inform; it's to deliver introductory content for advertising. They are prepping your eyes and mind for reflexive, conditioned behavior.

Of course immigration lawlessness is the Alien acid burning its way through multiple decks of our civil society (from murder to insolvent school districts to devastated construction trades).

And now we have the FBI's collapse - the Judicial Watch revelations just supplement the catastrophe of Comey's abdication. Maybe it's because people are simply inured to unbelievably bad damaging news any more - but the FBI's collapse on the Clinton security violations is easily the greatest single blow to the rule of law of any single incident in modern history.

734 732: Exactly the comparison I was thinking of.

735 Seriously, remember earlier today when y'all were remarking "Great Society = reparations"? Well, your thinking is slightly off...it's not reparations, it's tribute.

Think about that and all it entails.

736 Settle down.

738 FenelonSpoke: "I'm assuming that they have back up generators in the convention center..."

And I assumed they'd have American flags in the arena.

Sometimes you miss the obvious. Well, the missing flags were actually policy, so bad example.

739 One, the Ac went off during a championship game, and LeBron cramped up so bad he had to carried out. I was sitting about 20 feet from him, so that was neat.

I see Skankles trying to continue on with her speach as the heat soars...rivulest of sweat begin running down her face...dark patches start breaking out on her clothing...then whole sections of her face start sagging, then falling off completely...leaving behind the Lizzard Queen of the Coven. RUN!!!!! AAAEEEEEEEEE!!!

741 I'd still hit it though.

This is the Horde. Somewhere, someone would cannonball into the rumored Lena/Trigglypuff/Yoko/Whoopi tet-a-tet, hit 'em all, and whose funeral then would be closed-casket, because the mortician couldn't get the smile off their face.

Just sayin'.

743 rhomboid: "At the time I remember it seeming clear the chyron stream was needed because of the overwhelming volume of news."

I think it was a spinoff from investment news tickers. Bloomberg had been doing it, heavily, as technology allowed. Then everyone else said,"Hey, look at all this video real estate we're wasting! We can get eyeballs absolutely glued here with all the dancing balls and flashing lights."

News screens are now stimulus overloads.

Hell, they brought Greg Jarrett(sp?) back, and he's retarded sober.

746 The divide isn't a simple as college-educated or not.

It often depends about whether you have a position in the Borg, and where that position is.

The Borg is BigGov, MSM and Academia, which is melding. BigBiz is increasingly part of this, often depending on industry.

If you have a position in the Borg your pay often has no direct connection to any measure of productivity or market worth. You get paid based on where you sit.

The Borg is concentrated from DC to Boston, and from San Diego to San Francisco, with regional outposts in many cities. If you live there, even if you're not in the Borg, your financial well-being depends on the Borg, and the media influences are stronger, and you tend to vote accordingly.

It's what makes Blue cities blue, and Blue States blue. In these places, the overall electoral split is rarely 90%/10%. It's often more like 60%/40%, with the influence of the Borg making the difference.

The melding has been going on for some time. What's newer is how many large companies and even entire industries are being co-opted. Most large law firms for example are now dominated by Leftist-leaning partners. Health care has been co-opted.

That's why a company like Chik-Fil-A stands out.

Oil companies of any size have always been mavericks, and so are a particular target of Leftist wrath.

747 Have her call Paula Zahn, if anyone knows who and where she is!

Posted by: Marc at July 28, 2016 05:38 PM (J5fE4)

748 CNN would be career suicide for her like most others who go there. It is a stepping stone, not an rung up the ladder.

She wants something bigger. 60 Minutes level.

751 There is no "class" nor "class politics" in America. Where that exists there are only anti-American leftists pretending to be real Americans; traitors biding their time; foreigners reverting to past behaviors; and imbeciles with their fingers jammed up their asses/noses.
