All Remaining Charges in Freddie Gray Case Dropped; Marilyn Mosby Blames Police for Shoddy Investigation

Yeah. So.

The day started with a pretrial hearing for Officer Garrett Miller -- who had faced assault, misconduct in office and reckless endangerment charges. But instead of pretrial motions, Chief Deputy State's Attorney Michael Schatzow told the judge that prosecutors were dropping the charges against Miller and the rest of the officers.

4 If I believe a murder has occurred, and there are future trials for that murder, and there has been a shoddy investigation, the correct response would be to go back and investigate more.

27 She doesn't get to punish the cops by convicting them, so she's punishing the cops by blaming them. Not hard to see whose side she's on.

And the Black Lives Matter cultists will hear it and renew their hatred for the police - accusing them of circling the wagons and protecting their own.

This will not end well for Baltimore.

And Mosby needs to be disbarred, and fired, in no particular order.

Posted by: Qoheleth DIXIT at July 27, 2016 12:34 PM (iIzG7)

28 See how that works. It's all a police conspiracy.

113 What I just love is how when the MFM talks about how black athletes should speak out for the blacks that live in "oppressed" neighborhoods they never include the fact that ~95% of those oppressed neighborhoods have Democrats in charge at the mayor and city council levels. The world needs some famous blacks to point out that the party of Jefferson Davis and the KKK is still the one doing any of that oppressing.

--and honestly I do think protecting teachers and schools that uneducate rather than teach minorities is a bit of oppression even though the parents need to take charge of kids getting some learning. TFGs push to have quotas of suspensions so blacks are likely to face no consequences for normal mis-behavior in school is a form of oppression. Evil bastid and his evil MFM helpers.

190 Actually, the police did NOT do the investigation and that is why the civil case against her brought by the officers has standing. A Baltimore sheriff testified in one of the trials that he "signed off" on her investigation but that he/his office DID NOT conduct the investigation. As you can imagine this caused problems because that opened the door to having members of the prosecution who participated in the investigation open to being called as witnesses. Andrew Branca at Legal Insurrection has had excellent info on all of the trials that have been conducted and the civil case by the officers.

It was the same stupid stuff with the Trayvon Martin case, the prosecutor over-charged and Zimmerman was exonerated of the charge. They should've charged him with what they had evidence for...maybe manslaughter? SOME-thing would've been better than nothing.

The general public is too dumb to understand that the prosecutors put out the charge based on the evidence. If they choose the wrong charge, THEY are at fault. Not the accused.

First up, Never Again -- Gee, it's just like the Holocaust, that's why she repeats that phrase 14 times.

Second, we learn that she is a mom. So it seems she is claiming that momhood caused her to persue inflated charges, but now her reason has overruled her emotions and she is finally doing the right thing.

Third, we learn that many needed changes have occurred at the BPD. This is the ole okey-doke. Those changes could and should have been made without a vicious persecution of 6 police officers; in fact they would have been made anyways. But no, she wanted some extra pounds of flesh, and was willing to dump millions in taxpayer dollars in a futile effort to extract them.

And you have to wonder how much more the city could have done if they didn't piss away all this money. Well, at least she didn't get a speaking spot at the DNC, unlike the former mayor with her 'give them room to destroy' comment about the rioters.

230 From the other thread --

I'm glad that Trump is swinging against Hillary. The media scrum will
keep some of this stuff in the headlines for days -- CNN for example,
issued a breaking news alert saying essentially that Trump called for
Russia to hack Hillary's e-mails.

Anyone fairly following the
Hillary e-mail story knows, however, that those e-mails were wiped from
Hillary's server and that the server resides now in the FBI. If Russia
(or anyone) releases those e-mails, its because they already were
hacked. The White House is calling this a national security issue now.
You know when it was a national security issue? When Hillary Fucking
Clinton decided to act with gross negligence and conduct all of her
business on her bathroom server. That's when!

Frankly, if the
hackers release the e-mails, it will probably do our intelligence
operatives a service -- we will then have confirmation that all of those
e-mails were stolen in the first place.

236 190 Actually, the police did NOT do the investigation and that is why the civil case against her brought by the officers has standing. A Baltimore sheriff testified in one of the trials that he "signed off" on her investigation but that he/his office DID NOT conduct the investigation.
_______________

Yes, it was Mosby's own team that did most of the "investigation," which apparently consisted mainly of going down to the jail and getting Donte' Allen (the other guy in the back of the van) to change his initial story (given on the day of the incident, in which he insisted that the ride was "smooth" and that he had heard Gray banging around on the other side). The problem was that Allen was an exceptionally bad liar, and his coached second statement was so contradictory and stupid that it hurt, rather than helped, the prosecution's case. It also didn't help that the prosecution failed to disclose to the defense that they had gone down to the jail to "help" Allen remember a better story than the one he had told first. The other part of Marilyn's "investigation" consisted of pressuring the medical examiner to change her initial opinion on the death from accident to homicide.

It wasn't that the police botched the investigation, it was simply that Mosby's team was unable to teach their compromised witnesses how to commit perjury more effectively.

292 Righteous Anger!!

BLM and Occupy Wall Street were all started as GOTV for the Democrats.

BLM has truly gotten out of control (at least some parts of it), but the Democrats have no choice but to double down on it.

The Democrats will poll a solid 40% of the vote, no matter what they do. But is that a ceiling or a floor?

Based on their present actions, words and the convention itself, it may be a ceiling.
If it is close, don't underestimate the power of the Democrats to cheat and steal and make up votes.
For Trump to win in November, he has to be out of the range of the Democrats to cheat and steal votes, especially in Pennsylvania and Florida. Probably Ohio too.

340 In the well known essay "Why Arabs Lose Wars" the author points to a number of cultural factors that cause Arabs military organizations to perform poorly, especially against military units that do not share these cultural weaknesses. The author points out that Arabs military units commanded by European officers have often performed well and bravely and that young officers are often eager to use western methods especially when fresh back from training in western military academies but that they are almost always absorbed back into the local dysfunctional culture.

Chief among these dysfunctional cultural characteristics is a refusal to accept responsibility and a nearly comical insistence on trying to shift the blame to somebody else, anybody else.

I wonder if the frequent failures of black run cities has something to do with a similar cultural tendency to blame other people,no matter how absurd the attempt to avoid blame.

364 Mosby is filled with hate. What a horrible way to go through life. Must be absolutely miserable working for her or living with her. Heck, even being on the same bus with her would suck.

366 There's something fucking creepy about Moseby. She has the vacant eyes of a doll. A deeply evil, Chucky-type doll that would shiv you as soon as look at you. Yuk.

367 Pardon me. Is she saying she did not review the evidence gathered by the police before bringing charges??? It is her job to know the evidence before she ever brings charges. Sounds like Mike Nifong all over again. She should be investigated and disbarred.

368 Why was Ricky Ray Rector's mom left off the "Mothers of the Movement" panel? Wasn't her mentally disabled son executed by a racist southern governor?

369 If the malicious prosecution suits are properly developed, they should have sufficient evidence for professional censure, removal from office, and possible disbarment.

Chances I think that will actually happen?
