All of the acquitted cops got their jobs back already, with back pay. Since the charges against the others have now all been dropped, they will be entitled to the same.
The taxpayers of Baltimore have now paid the family of Freddy Gray, a drug dealer with a long rap sheet, $6.4 million for injuries that Gray himself caused. The taxpayers have also shelled out millions for the trials of the innocent cops (and mistrial of one cop). They will likely have to pay millions more to settle the malicious prosecution civil lawsuits that the cops have filed. And of course, the taxpayers had to pay for all the overtime for the cops that had to be brought in because of the looting and rioting by the "outraged" blacks over the police abuse of Gray that never happened.
All this to advance a false media narrative.

Sure, they still have their blind spots for abortion-supporting progressives, but a lot of them are repulsed by Bill's behavior - it doesn't square with their "campus rape epidemic" and "slut walk" sensibilities. She's an elected State's Attorney, so I assume (but don't know) that there would have to be a recall to get rid of her before the next election.
She was never qualified for the office in the first place. She had no criminal law experience, and barely any legal experience. She had worked for a few years for an insurance company, in civil matters.
It will be interesting to see what she has to say at her presser. Probably just a lot of CYA nonsense. She'll have to be careful, as her words can be used against her now in the civil lawsuits by the cops.

Yeah, the city taxpayers end up on the hook... but fuck them. They elected the imbeciles who caused this and went along with (or participated in) the trials by social media and riot.
Of course, these being Democrat cities, they're likely way over budget and would be bankrupt in a sane world, so people from TX will end up paying for it in the end. Fuck it. Here's what I do. Take 3-4 Advil and 2 Sudafed with caffeine and food. Wait about 20-30 minutes and take a very hot shower. Get the hot water everywhere it hurts - head, neck, back, etc. Then maybe a nap. Almost always knocks out the really bad headaches for me.

What amazes me is that she might have to veer further left, further racial hatred. She has to keep the vote count up in the battleground states, and we know that turnout for the dems is down.
And the bernie types aren't merely sore losers now; they are genuine "we were robbed" people. This might be the ONE thing that would stop them from going to the polls and voting D, or instead sparking third party.

But, when he was my neighbor in San Antonio, he was just finishing dental school, then off to Alaska to work with the Bureau of Indian Affairs for two years. Completely paid off his medical education with that move.
And given that he was already an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman, well, for him it was like getting paid to play.
The dude is a smart cookie. Undergrad from A&M Galveston, with Marine Engineering degree, came out of college with a 3rd mate, any vessel, any ocean Merchant Marine ticket. Went to sea every summer to pay his living expenses for each school year, till he was done.
So, by time he was done with the BIA gig in Alaska, he was debt-free to set up his practice in Austin.... and likely had a pretty good nest egg to start, too.
Moral of the story is, that "underserved" appellation has an even stronger upside than you might have imagined, and especially if you've got a bit of an adventurous side to you.
Either way, congratulations on your graduation. I hope to never have to meet you in your professional capacity though! *heh!*

The convention bounce for Trump continues to grow. RCP is not counting the Reuters/IPSOS poll that Ace mentioned last night yet. However the LA Times reran their poll from a few days ago. This change is due to TWO DAYS of polling changes, and counting the entire effect of the convention. It occurred completely after Trump's speech now, and also factors in the DNC email mess.
The last run of the poll had Trump leading 45-41. Now the poll has him leading 47-40. That is a 3 point shift in 2 days.
The RCP average now has Trump leading Clinton 45.7 to 44.6.
This is the important part I'd like Ace to know. Trump ISN'T struggling to reach 45%. He is AVERAGING over 45% now. That is over a 5 point gain in his average level of support in the last 3 weeks.
The polls in the RCP now put his support at 43, 51, 45, 42, 47, 44, and 48. That is NOT a struggle to reach 45. 45 is now his benchmark.

I also know someone who did 3 years as a psychiatrist in western Missouri which is considered a low income area and had all her med school dept wiped out. Sure, there was hardship. But you get thru it. Not bad to start your professional life with out debt.

Ah OK, I did not know it was a foreign Medical School. So yeah alright, you do have to do your Residency First, but the age thing is NO problem. You can get an age waiver but you at 35 I don't think you even need one. Actually I am The Director of Manpower for a Major Reserve Medical Facility so I actually know this stuff.

Indeed - but this was many years before that.
The crusades originally came about because the Byzantines were being devastated by Jihad in Anatolia. They were hoping for a medium sized army or money to hire one from the west to push the Muslims out of their lands.
Instead they got a large, poorly organized, but very effective, gaggle of minor nobles from throughout Europe with their armies.
The Byzantine emperor at the time of the first crusade was a smart guy and he was able to work with the Crusaders but fundamentally their interests were different. The Byzantines were willing to give fiefs for fealty but focused on recovering lands they had recently lost.
The Crusaders wanted to liberate the Holy Land and rule it themselves.
So it really isn't a surprise that they split at about the the 1064 border between the Muslims and the Byzantines...
Later Byzantine emperors were not so competent, and in the lead up to the fourth crusade left themselves open to the western states (most notably Venice) finding a deposed Emperor that they could use to claim Constantinople itself.
Overall it is interesting that it was infighting among the Byzantines that led to their demise in pretty much three steps - Manzikert, the fourth Crusade, and then finally the Byzantine civil war.

No, the 4th Crusade was organized to fight the Turks. The Crusaders entered into an alliance with a Byzantine prince to put him on the throne of Constantinople, in exchange for his financial backing of the Crusade. He was overthrown, and the Crusaders decided to sack Constantinople in lieu of payment.

As for your headache, votermom, I used to have sinus-style headaches several times a month. When they began to last into a second day, I gave up and got a prescription. It was Seldane, which fortunately or unfortunately is off the market now. But one of its main ingredients was caffeine in a dose to wake a zombie. Maybe some more coffee, or some No-Doz, would help?
