I have sympathy toward anyone who has had a child die. But to allow your child to be used as part of a political campaign that is pushing a false narrative is where my sympathy stops. These women are either being paid handsomely for their appearance or are gaining something tangible out of it.
Sheriff Clarke was on FBN a couple of hours ago. He pointed out that not only are all of the dead chilluns dead because they were resisting arrest, breaking the law, etc. but two of the mom's have kids that weren't killed by police. One had a daughter who hung herself in her jail cell and the other , Trayvon Martin was killed by a citizen in self defense.

This woman kept Kosher, celebrated all the Jewish holidays--even the minor ones, built an arbor in her backyard for Sukkot. This was in my contracting days in Atlanta. No, he was the guy who died in police custody after being arrested for the heinous crime of selling loose cigarettes on the street. He was an habitual petty criminal with a lot of arrests for things like that, but I don't think he was a thug.
He was about 50 if I recall correctly, and had serious health problems which probably contributed to his death.

And by the way, I know choke holds and (a) that was no choke hold, and (b) a blood choke is probably one of the safest things you can do to knock someone out unless you hold it for something like a minute (as opposed to a trachea choke, which it was definitely, definitely not).

He posts three forecasts. The actual "what I think will happen" one as of this moment is the "polls-plus" forecast. The "plus" means adding a point or two here and there for how the economy is doing and the president's approval rating and whatever other "fundamentals" he's decided are relevant. Those last "fundamentals" points peter out over the course of the campaign until they become zero as of election day. The day before the election "polls-only" and "polls-plus" are the same model.
More importantly, the "polls-plus" forecast also adds special sauce to subtract out convention bounces. Silver assumes that conventions result in 4-point gains at one point per day of the convention, which dissipate over the course of the 30 days following the convention. Either candidate getting a bigger or smaller bounce will skew the "polls-plus" forecast for the next month until the bounce is gone.
Expect it all to get clearer about a month from now.

You can read his apology on his site if you want, which includes his commitment to never again stray from what the data are saying this election. But I suspect that post was just boilerplate denial of how horribly Trump is doing, and you won't.

Nate has two trackers.
1) The "today" run, which has Trump ahead at 57.5%. But only applies to a "if the election were today" question. Which it isn't.
2) The "polls plus" model; which is "if things stay as expected, and the election were held in November, when the election IS held".
In that one Hillary has the 58.2% as is still the likely winner.
