Tip: don't waste your time with the theatrical release of Batman v Superman. Watch the extended version. Yes, it's a 3+ hour movie, but the added scenes give you context so you have a better idea of what the hell is going on in the movie, especially the first part. I hated the theatrical release but I rather liked the extended version.

I didn't think it was "a darker feel". The first half story line pretty much followed the original golden age comic plots. The "Phantom Zone" stuff was different though and no Lex Luther. My main criticism of the movie was that the fight scene was simply too long.

"I do not say there is no difference between the parties. What I say is
that there's not enough difference to save your job, to save your life,

Donald Trump says, Hillary Clinton has already done. Whether it's

I am planning on sitting on my ass in a lounge chair on the Green Bay beach for the next 4 days or so (if it's not too hot to sit outside) reading Wodehouse, nursing my knee, eating grilled hamburgers and brats and sweet corn, and trying to ignore the outside world as much as possible. (Although I might have to turn on the DNC for a few minutes at a time, just to see if the Berniebots are causing trouble for Cankles.)

I have to wonder what is going on inside Bernie's head. I never thought he really wanted or expected to win - he would have gone after Scankles much harder than he did - (hey, Bern, still sick of hearing about her emails?) and he was more than willing to concede and embrace the old scrunt. But his followers are not willing to cave as easily as he did.

Actually, the comics covered that numerous times over the years. In the early era, the Kents simply expired of natural causes, being already middle-aged when they adopted the alien baby they found. If you look back at the Superboy stories of the 50s, the Kents always looked more like Clark's grandparents or people who'd had a surprise pregnancy long after the prospect had been given up.

I always suspected that the advanced ages of Peter Parker's Aunt May and Uncle Ben came of the same source: a holdover from the Great Influenza epidemic continuing to affect how writers thought. Because the Great Flu killed so many adults in their prime, there was a lot of orphaned children being raised by their grandparents in the 20s and 30s, which influenced the thinking of creators like Seigal and Schuster and Stan Lee, who was not much younger.

Generally, when depicting Superman's upbringing, his adoptive parents expire one after the other, and it is at that point he sets out for Metropolis to start his two careers.

It wasn't until the 1986 John Byrne reboot that the Kents were not killed off as Clark became Superman. Byrne made a the Kents a bit younger and more believably Clark's biological parents in the eyes of Smallville residents. (The premise was that a very long and severe winter had the Kents snowed in at the farm during most of the pregnancy and Clark was born there. This gave a better cover story story for Clark's existence.) Byrne also kept the Kents alive and acting as Clark's primary confidantes during the early days of his Superman career. Jonathan was killed off during the 'Death of Superman' arc, IIRC. Byrne felt it was important Clark had somebody he could talk to openly about his problems besides other superhero types.

Says CBS "The drama, set to bow in 2017, will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966."

I realize Star Trek has always been "progressive," but given the left's inability to handle subtlety and nuance in conveying their agenda, I can only expect the new Trek to be a constant hammering of transgender bathrooms, gun control, global warming, and whatever else is on the agenda.

Remember the horrible Next Generation "Global Warming" episode that ended with Star Fleet limiting ships to warp 5 to save the environment? I expect that will look subtle in comparison.

Putin's goal is to weaken NATO in order to advance his expansionist agenda.

Trump wants to weaken NATO. He has also praised Putin repeatedly, drawn moral equivalency between America and Russia, and worked to weaken support for Ukraine in the GOP platform.

Putin also has a proven track record of supporting isolationist nationalist parties across Europe. The NF in France is a key example. This is not conjecture, it is proven and admitted.

It is not a conspiracy theory to say it is pretty clear which candidate Putin prefers.

As to having blackmail info - much of Trump's business now is with Russian oligarchs since US banks don't trust him. It is likely Putin has as much leverage over Trump as he does over Clinton.

Honestly, hollowed-out asteroids rate pretty well on the high-end supervillain lair scale, I'm amazed it took Starfleet this long to get with the program...

Plus, you could set it up as a pressurized space dock so that you could do major repairs/overhauls in atmo, but also with low gravity. Of course, once you open the big-assed hatch, the escaping pressure is gonna shoot that asteroid into the nearest planet like a released balloon.

351 I love that the DNC is holding its convention in the WELLS FARGO Center.

From April 2016 DOJ Press Release:

Wells Fargo Bank Admits That It Certified that Loans Were Eligible for FHA Mortgage Insurance When They Were Not, and That It Did Not Disclose Thousands of Faulty Mortgage Loans to HUD.

In June 2013 Wells Fargo settled a lawsuit alleging that it neglected the maintenance and marketing of foreclosed homes in black and Latino areas by agreeing to spend at least $42 million to promote home ownership and neighborhood stabilization.

In October 2013 Freddie Mac announced that Wells Fargo would pay $869 million to repurchase home loans the bank had sold to the mortgage agency that did not conform to the latter's guidelines.

They didn't really have a choice on that. The TOS characters, including the ship, are all bound within the films, leaving the TV stuff in a separate but equal periphery.

My big annoyance is they dug up those awful old Ralph McQuarrie concept sketches that repulsed me the first time I saw them twenty years ago.

You are doing it wrong.

Look, spinning conspiracy theories is serious work, you can't just latch onto a couple of random facts that look right and bind them together with an idea you pull out of your ass.
You need that odd twist, the new way of looking at the facts that convince everyone else that "OMG, I never saw that, this Person person is freaking brilliant, I should hang on every thought".

Unless you have that, and it takes work and practice, you just come off sounding like a shallow 20 year old who just found out about persuasion, or someone who finally got on their meds, but can't break the thinking habits.

361 Epobirs, so because of Chris Pine movie Trek the TV writers were 'forced' to create a new ship. And dare I ask is this new series in the Pine universe? Well then that explains so much ...

Cavil remember the anti-matter is out in those giant pontoons because of fear of explosion... which almost made sense until one realizes that much anti-matter will destroy a ship no matter how far away they are from the hull. *thud*
