General Mills is trying to tap into the kid demographic that wants turmeric in its Trix.

They haven't found a good natural blue or green color yet. The red color is iffy, too. They like the purple.

Actually, this content is only an excuse to re-post Ace's famous Kaboom thread.

I always suggest Copper Sulfate as a good blue dye, it affects the flavoring than than Prussian blue and doesn't have the side-effects of genetian violet.

Peanut allergies in children tripled over a ten year period from '98 to '08.

A likely explanation is that children today are living an increasingly antiseptic environment, with their parents not letting them out. Babies need to be exposed to common benign bacteria and other allergens out there for their immune systems to get tuned right.

When they don't, allergies result due to a crazy immune system that didn't learn what to react to and what not to.

Kathy - just wondering, does PETA consider the kinds of sweeteners in these products and/or the kind of processing they go through? As Ive tried to become vegan, my reading suggests that white/refined sugar (which is also contained in most brown sugar) is filtered through animal bone char.

Make the cereal, of which the only really distinctive characteristic was the bright colors, more boring to look at by eliminating several colors, and by using "natural" dyes which may taste bad. Then take out additives that preserve freshness or keep the bloblets of cereal in one piece in the bowl.

People who buy junk food buy it because they want junk food. There is already a plethora of "healthy" cereals out there. No need to turn Trix into pastel granola. Sounds to me like this will be General Mill's "new Coke" moment.

It was so good that I decided to try it as a cold cereal with milk and Rapadura sugar; only a small amount in a 3oz paper cup. It's great sprinkled on Greek yogurt with a drizzle of raw honey or agave nectar. I'll sprinkle in a little bit of corse Himalayan salt for zing.

110 Just saw the most recent Hillary having a seizure/demonic possession video. She looks like she has those seizures quite frequently as she shook it off on her feet. Or at least she looks like she shook it off.

Seizures are serious. It is like having a major concussions times 1000. I know of a young man who has seizures and can't live alone, has violent personality swings, and can't make decisions for himself among other things.

I had a reaction to a medication a few years ago and had a grand mol seizure. It took me 6 months to recover from the vision and underwater felling like one gets from the aftermath of a major concussion. My personality changed for two or three months and then settled but I got frustrated very easily. I've only had one seizure but it scared the Shit out of me and the hospital staff where I was recovering from surgery.

If Hillary is suffering from seizures she needs to drop out. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. She needs to drop out now. She cannot run anything having seizures.

Another fun fact: Prussian Blue is a mixed-valence iron(II,III) cyanide complex. But it's not a labile cyanide - i.e., the cyanide ligands do not readily come off the Fe(III) ion - and so it doesn't have the toxicity of, e.g,, potassium cyanide.

Bob's version is practically a note-for-note cover, but with a different band and a different voice.

Obviously, Frank's voice is better, but I like Bob's band better. It's a lovely compare-and-contrast. Each of them brings different things to the table.

He's educating people about old music. I never would have bothered looking for or listening to the original if it weren't for his cover.

I get that they don't want to give it away, but that trailer looks to me like we're going to spend a season getting Negan's backstory.

Go watch the Season 5 trailer again. They make that look like the entire season the main bad guy is going to be Gareth, the leader of Terminus. So I think they do a good job of showing a lot of cool stuff without giving away what will actually happen.

As for Season 7 I'll try to avoid the trailer as long as possible to avoid spoilers.

181 Bad thing about composite is price. It does have a lot of advantages.
It's not angry different to put down. It gets screwed and with the proper type its easy. It cuts the same as wood. My deck (I didn't build it) is very old but has held up but need to coat it every year.
