Two Suspects in Killing of Kansas City Police Captain Arrested; Police Claim The Killing "Does Not Fit The Narrative" of Anti-Cop Ambushes, but Is Merely Murder by Two Perps Attempting to Flee

Yes yes yes -- but then, Obama corrupts, and Obama corrupts absolutely, and we've seen a spate of terrorist attacks classified by Obama's minions as acts of workplace violence or "man-caused disasters."

What faith should i have in the government to tell me the truth any longer?

The Burning Times Will Feature Low-Quality Pizza. Papa John's stock up as nervous citizens remain locked in their homes, fearing the breakdown of society.

And no, that's not a joke.

37 Shooting at cops has become open to discussion with this administration. The Overton Window has been moved. They've stoked racial tension... and specifically hatred of police. The fact that we are in a place in which we're wondering if perps "intended" to kill cops when they set out to commit crime... or simply decided it was a viable option once they were confronted... is sickening.

I'm not well versed in the history but my understanding is that it used to be an assumed rule that criminals were hesitant to fire on cops because they well knew that if they did they could expect a Bonnie and Clyde scenario with cops everywhere hunting them and no one raising an eyebrow when the cops used 10 times deadly force to take them out.

Now shooting a cop will make them a heroic figure on death row for decades if they are even convicted.

In the "community", sometimes the pregnant girl/woman is not exactly sure who the father is, so they mash-up the names of the "candidates." So William and Shaun become "Wilshaun"; Tyrone and Joe become "Jorone." It gets complicated sometimes when there are many possible "sires.", and that's how you get things like "D'brickashaw."

He further insists that the real problem is that police departments won't admit that they are all a bunch of racists who act stupidly when it comes to black people.

"Yes, but what kind of meat?" I repeated.

"Yes, is meat," he said again, nodding and smiling. "Is meat pizza."

I gave up on my local one after one night I order it and it gave a 30-40 minute window. An hour and a half later I'm calling to find out where my pizza is. Only time I'll get it now is if its running a really cheap special, such as when the regional NFL team wins and the next day you get 50% off the menu price.

I think Dominos has been playing around with robot pizza delivery and Amazon is all in on drone delivery once the regulatory crap gets sorted.

Of course, the thugs will rob 8 out of 10 deliveries while in route to your place but that's still cheaper than the soon to be mandatory $15/ hour min. wage, even before the incumbent skyrocketing workers comp insurance.

I've never sworn to defend the Constitution. But the Constitution is not the government. It creates the federal system of "government." Still I think there is a lot more distrust in the government these days, which is good. Too much trust has allowed the government to grow to the point where it is involved in every aspect of our lives, so we naturally distrust it more. If it were smaller, we'd probably trust it more.

378 The Deliverator belongs to an elite order, a hallowed subcategory. He's got esprit up to here. Right now, he is preparing to carry out his third mission of the night. His uniform is black as activated charcoal, filtering the very light out of the air. A bullet will bounce off its arachnofiber weave like a wren hitting a patio door, but excess perspiration wafts through it like a breeze through a freshly napalmed forest. Where his body has bony extremities, the suit has sintered armorgel: feels like gritty jello, protects like a stack of telephone books.

When they gave him the job, they gave him a gun. The Deliverator never deals in cash, but someone might come after him anyway-might want his car, or his cargo. The gun is tiny, aero-styled, lightweight, the kind of a gun a fashion designer would carry; it fires teensy darts that fly at five times the velocity of an SR-71 spy plane, and when you get done using it, you have to plug it into the cigarette lighter, because it runs on electricity.

The Deliverator never pulled that gun in anger, or in fear. He pulled it once in Gila Highlands. Some punks in Gila Highlands, a fancy Burbclave, wanted themselves a delivery, and they didn't want to pay for it. Thought they would impress the Deliverator with a baseball bat. The Deliverator took out his gun, centered its laser doohickey on that poised Louisville Slugger, fired it. The recoil was immense, as though the weapon had blown up in his hand. The middle third of the baseball bat turned into a column of burning sawdust accelerating in all directions like a bursting star. Punk ended up holding this bat handle with milky smoke pouring out the end. Stupid look on his face. Didn't get nothing but trouble from the Deliverator.

Since then the Deliverator has kept the gun in the glove compartment and relied, instead, on a matched set of samurai swords, which have always been his weapon of choice anyhow. The punks in Gila Highlands weren't afraid of the gun, so the Deliverator was forced to use it. But swords need no demonstrations.

393 Eric Trump just interviewed by Bret Baier. Baier asked him about the Trump Winery in VA, which is managed by a female. She was a speaker last night at the convention and as Baier pointed out, the MSM did not carry her speech.

I saw it on 347 Direct TV, which carries the convention live, no commercials, no pundits. She was great, was destroying the anti woman, misogyny crap coming from the left.

Eric praised her, and then stated that most of Trump Enterprise's business are managed by women, including the hotels and the golf courses. He said that the winery manager asked to come speak to promote what they have done with the winery and as an example of how the Trump organization promotes and empowers female employees.

Trump bought the winery which was in receivership, renovated it, brought on winemakers, management, etc. built a small boutique hotel, and the winery now employs 100 people and adds $55M to the local economy via wine cultivation and sales, tourism, etc. It is profitable and has produced wines with rankings by wine rating services in the high 80's.

Eric became very animated when talking about the Clinton Foundation, which he said, takes money from the Saudi's , whose sharia laws enslave women. He noted that the female executives in the Clinton foundation average $80,000 less than the male executives.

I think his speech tonight will be rapid fire gunning at Hillary.

408 Well, it looks like Trump did get the RNC nomination. Weeks ago, I predicted a 'Unity Ticket' of Rubio/Kasich; obviously, that didn't happen.

That doesn't help my record as a Nostradomas wannabe, but that is a very good thing for this country. Trump supporters have no reason not to vote, so they will turn out and cast votes against Hillary and for the downticket races. Even the committed never-Trumpers will still turn out for the downticket races. Anyway, the Republican Party survives and has a chance, small as it may be, to start turning things around.

Personally, I think that the RNC had internal polling that showed total obliteration of the Senate, Representative and other races if anyone other than Trump was nominated, especially if he/she is perceived to be GOPe.

Next week, I predicted that the DNC will, at the last minute, switch in Michelle Obama. We'll see if that also proves false (much to the benefit of the country).

Personally, Trump (and the other Republicans) need to lay off Hillary from now until the second week of August. Let the Dems nominate her, then let them commit, at least psychologically, to her candidacy through the first week of August.

When the second week starts, start dropping political nukes on her everytime she shows up in public.

Posted by: SH at July 20, 2016 07:13 PM (gmeXX)

Umm, I'm confused. I've not heard any trashing of Kasich from the Trump campaign at the convention.

The media found out that Kasich would not attend the convention and they have been asking about it since last week. Since Kasich still has not showed to the convention of his party, being held in his state, the RNC is being asked repeatedly why Kasich hasn't been there.

All the other attendees of note keep getting asked what they think of Kasich not showing.

Late this afternoon, one of Fox reporters said that an aide to Kasich said that he would "be back", indicating he is planning to run again for the presidency.

Maybe a good start to that would be behaving like an adult and at least attending for a few hours, his party's convention being held 2 1/2 hours up I 71 from Columbus.

Some of the other speakers, etc. said that at least he should be there to thank his delegates. Trump and the RNC made a rule change this year, removing Romney's rule from 2012 that wouldn't permit the other candidates delegate votes to be read. This year, all the candidates delegates were read and Kasich's were fully committed to Ohio.

My guess is Kasich is going to do all he can to derail Trump from winning Ohio because he's a petulant little jerk with a victim complex from being the son of a postman.

No.

Nope, no, nope, no way.

The GOP's symbol is an elephant because elephant's remember everything. So if you voted for Cox instead of Harding, you have no right to say anything now.

Elephants also like peanuts, so if you don't like peanuts, or even if have an allergy of some kind, no. You can't have any say in Republican politics.

The Oakland A's use an elephant in their brand, so if you're a fan of the Los Angeles County Angels (or whatever the hell they call themselves) then you're not allowed to have an opinion. And Skippy is better than Jif, so if you're one of those Jiffers, take your Jif and, and I don't know.

The point is, we must remain divided as a party. Something about integrity or something.

Remember what Lincoln said: "A house united cannot stand if you pack it full of dirty Jiffers and set it on fire."

This is the kind of shit I'm talking about with Trump and the RNC. It's not as if they didn't know that Kasich failed to RSVP (well... most likely). Fine. You go out in front of it and give one of the usual BS statements like, "The governor is going to be focused on state issues and departments, particularly in light of recent events and tragedies" or "you know, Alaska is really far away".

Instead, they do nothing, hope no one will notice, then dodge the press and blabber incoherent, idiotic, inconsistent shit off the cuff.

Yeah, I was about to say something about that. I haven't watched any of it so far. Speechifying just doesn't do it for me. Maybe if candidates wrote their own speeches like Lincoln, I might be inclined to pay attention.

But what good do speeches at a political convention, or a place like CPAC, do? Who listens other than those already inclined to agree? Who is persuaded by them?

Take the greatest political speech of my lifetime, Reagan's "A Time for Choosing" speech in 1964. Who did it persuade? Goldwater lost by a landslide. I think speeches are overrated.

620 SH, he doesn't need to support Trump. But he does need to be involved in a political convention held in his state, particularly one that he was actually running as a candidate in. His delegates were there to vote for him. I know it doesn't make any difference, but the ass stayed in the race all the way to the end when it was 100% obvious he didn't have the delegates needed to win the convention, then he stayed in putting out stories that he still could win by convincing all of Trump's 1700 plus delegates to switch their votes to him.

When that became obvious to all but those with rutabagas for brains that wasn't happening, he went back to Columbus and has refused to have anything to do with the convention other than send out a press release that he couldn't suspend open carry for the convention.

He would have been expected to attend a Democrat convention held in the state. It's what sitting governors do. They show up at large, national and international events held in their state because it is good for their state economy, is great PR for their state, and is part of their governmental responsibilities.

Actually it's in Kaisch's own best interests to support the nominee of his own party. Even a clown like Trump. Because like all politicians, he wants to make another run at POTUS for himself. And that means maintaining party discipline. He doesn't have to slob nob over Trump, but going through the motions of supporting the nominee builds gravitas, and frankly, given his behavior this election, Kaisch could use that if he expects to have a political career in the future.

Cruz is more interested in supporting his positions and ideals and continuing to try to educate and shape the party as much as he can. He is still representing his constituents in the state of Texas and has put aside personal offenses he suffered during the primaries because he knows that is bigger and more important than any individual.

Kasich should also be representing his constituents, but he is much more interested in his personal boo boos he is nursing than to look at the bigger picture and the more important needs of this election.

So if your hosting a bigger man contest, I declare Ted Cruz the winner.

670 There are no "games". We're just going to disagree, sometimes. I don't mind your snark. In fact, I find it funny, as well.

Gather your points and type what you will.

671 Damiano, just curious, what are some specific barn door opportunities that are being missed this week?
Posted by: rhomboid at July 20, 2016 07:30 PM (QDnY+)

1. Melania's speech. No, I am not talking about plagiarism stupidity. Here was an opportunity to grab a big, cross demo audience and make an impact. They went hog wild promoting it at the last minute, then gave her a pathetic, vanilla speech full of empty platitudes, canned sentiment, and sad attempts to pander that were completely detached from any and all of her strengths.

2. Giuliani: Leave the man alone. He is intelligent, quick on his feet and almost always comes to the table with a solid argument full of facts and ready to play. Its always a joy watching him abuse the talking heads whenever he's on tv. Instead, they give him "noun-verb-gimmick phrase" and put him out there flapping around like a marionette operated by an epileptic with Tourette's syndrome.

3. Christie. Dude was prosecutor. A good one. He thrives on red meat speeches. The idea was okay but horribly executed. Since it's clear that they're just copying and pasting shit for speeches, they should have just gone verbatim with Gowdy's questioning of Comey a week or so ago. They had the opportunity to present an indictment and had the Babe Ruth of red meat speech prosecutions on deck... and went with canned applause lines.

4. Almost no one is voting *for* Trump. The only person in political history to have unfavorable says high as him and not be run out of their campaign on a rail is... Hillary Clinton... and her numbers aren't even as bad as his. Stop trying to sell this bullshit image of Trump has a doting father who gives homeless people the shirt off his back when he's not donating all his money to charity or giving his trophy wife foot massages and asking about her day. It's bullshit and no one is buying it. Fine, yank out the family to soften his image a bit, but stop just making shit up out of whole cloth and cribbing from other poll tested speeches about family values. The man has none. He's on his 3rd wife (who is 24 years his junior and he picked up while out on a date with another woman), his kids were raised by nannies in the homes of their mothers who live several states away while Trump flies to Pedo Island with Jeffrey Epstein and Bill Clinton. Sell the business man, the guy who gets shit done, builds shit, is willing to stand up to people. You nominated a strong man dictator. Stop trying to pretend he's Ghandi.

672 >>>> All that may be true. But Trump gets a complete pass on manners and acting gentlemanly from his supporters, who many then demand from others.

I almost wrote in my reply to you what I expected you to say back but didn't to let you answer without parsing words. You said exactly what I thought you would. Bc Trump is an ass, everyone else gets a pass to be one too. That's your argument? It isn't much of one.

And you must not read here much, most of us willing to vote for him make fun of him and have been groaning when he inevitably puts his foot in his mouth. There are probably less than 10 people who are diehard devotees to Trump. Most everyone else is in the I'm willing to vote for him group.

674 @592

Sir, you are correct. I must have been channeling John in my head for a brief and horrible moment.

Yes, I was irritated and almost throwing things as well. How easily I forget the horrible moments of this primary and endless debates. This is good, however. I hope.

My Broncos should have beat Seattle in the Super Bowl that year. Not the year that Seattle beat Denver, but the year that Pittsburgh beat Seattle. Denver should've beaten Pittsburgh and then gone on to beat Seattle. So I watched the Pittsburgh play Seattle, all the while shouting at the TV, rooting for Denver. Because I'm a real fan, dammit.

Is that stupid?

677 Kasich doesn't even have to speak. He just has to be there for the prime time speeches, and smile for the camera and wave a little when people mention Ohio. This is so hard?

He made it to the NAACP convention just fine, btw...

You mean the guy that wasn't going to run for reelection because he "didn't like the job" until he found out he wasn't going to be VP.

680 Papa John's is the kind of pizza where, if you'd been helping a friend move all day long and you were hungry, you'd eat it, but you'd think twice before you agreed to help the cheap bastard move again.

And no, it's not worse than Little Caesar's. That shit isn't even pizza. You know that little "real cheese" logo that the Cheese Council (or whatever the fuck it is) has, and that you see used by most pizza places?

Well, Little Caesar's isn't allowed to use that logo.
