The politically expedient thing to do would have been to fire her, then run to the media and execute her (metaphorically) by telling all who she was, how horrible she failed her job, and that she was out of the Trump campaign and organization, fired for cause. Then write a lengthy apology letter to Michelle Obama, explaining how her words were so inspiring that the temptation to plagerize them was irresistable to this woman.
Melania would have been delivering the apology herself, at a press conference where she would have been asked fifteen times why she posed semi nude for GQ and did Trump report any payment for the use of his plane by GQ in the shoot to the federal government.
That is what Jeb or Rubio, or whomever RNC darling would have done.

The politically expedient thing to do would have been to fire her, then run to the media and execute her (metaphorically) by telling all who she was, how horrible she failed her job, and that she was out of the Trump campaign and organization, fired for cause. Then write a lengthy apology letter to Michelle Obama, explaining how her words were so inspiring that the temptation to plagerize them was irresistable to this woman.
Melania would have been delivering the apology herself, at a press conference where she would have been asked fifteen times why she posed semi nude for GQ and did Trump report any payment for the use of his plane by GQ in the shoot to the federal government.
That is what Jeb or Rubio, or whomever RNC darling would have done.

Yes it is. They are, literally, manufacturing a product: news. It's not news for the sake of being newsworthy and vital, life-sustaining information. It's wholly contrived Pavlovian bullshit to make viewers' eyes and minds blink.
And FOX specifically is becoming one of the worst WRT Trump because they are trying to conceal their disingenuity. They start a segment with, "Well, we don't really want to talk about this but everyone else [the media and actually not everyone else] is, so what do you think about everyone talking about X?" It's a circuitous, too clever by half, method of trying to appear above the fray when, in fact, they are manufacturing the fray with whole spun cloth.

Are you telling me that a campaign cannot hire or accept a pro bono work from the employee of a private company for their campaign as long as they report it?
It isn't like Trump is trying to hide who this woman is, or that she works for the Trump Organization, which is currently being run by the three offspring.
That would mean that NONE of what a campaign does on a day to day basis can be performed by a private company, whether it be security, transportation, paper supplies, signs, hotels, catering, telecommunications, etc.

For all of the '80s and '90s, the NY tabloids splashed Trump-scnadals and Trump-bashing on their front pages on a near daily basis, and Trump just played along with them, egging them on, giving them coy interviews and never quite denying the most salacious rumors. The newspaper thought they were destroying this cardboard villain they had set up, but the more they attacked him, the more famous he got, and the more famous he got, the more fans he got, and the old adage "All publicity is good publicity" was proven true once again.
Now the same thing is happening on the national stage.
Trump is going to surf the wave of anti-Trump media hysteria straight into the White House.

You completely missed the point of the letter. The apology was secondary, although not needed. IMO the letter was a head-nod to on the fence admirers of Mooch. A play for votes. One of the few things I like about Trump is his plain speech. A lot of anger is about the prevarication, vacillation, and hesitancy to speak out on some issues by 'conservative' leadership.

I do think it is harmful to an extent, however. Part of his appeal and promotion is that he is an incredibly successful, hard nosed businessman who runs a tight ship and won't tolerate mistakes. Huh? How can something this stupid happen? The late night comics are loading their guns right now.

I forgot to add the effing large pot has the effing apricot jam mixture in it. This is going to require a lot of thought and sterile technique and TIME and patience, of which I do not have since this began.
