In their zeal to engineer society, the French government has lost sight of the rationale for their existence.
The citizens of France instituted this government for the protection of their liberty, and it has failed. The next event is predictable, and the government will be replaced. Sometimes, in France, the "replacing of governments" gets a little messy. Surely, though, Hollande et al understood the risks involved in signing up to lead, and collect all the perks. In the 19th century, the US wanted to have railroads developed, and subsidized the building of the transcontinental rail lines. And the railroads did get rich and powerful.
And then the government thought, "they're too big" and spend the next 30-40 years trying to tear them down. Google and the other big IT companies are going to end up following the same path. The US wanted all that IT growth, and now, people are finding it's just too big and powerful. Plus, I think the EU wants to get even with the US EPA over the big fines on VW for their software spoofing of the diesel testing. Maybe government is too big, too? We could all agree on that. It is painful to have to say this but sadly the truth is often painful.
The only way France can stop what is happening is to seal its borders, expel all recent immigrants from Islamic countries, go into every mosque and censor all Friday sermons and clear out the banlieus. Ideally, every Muslim under the age of 35 should be expelled regardless of where they were born. They brought this upon themselves decades ago and now they will have to come to terms with it or vanish as a nation. Posted by: J.J. Sefton at July 15, 2016 07:56 AM (27m1/) 30

In Obama's mind they are not criminals, they are poor people in a desperate struggle to live, just like him.
____________________ Intelligent people try to understand reality by developing theories about why things happen, and then they look at the available evidence to see if it supports or conflicts with their theories. If new evidence comes along that contradicts their theories, they discard their old, disproved theories and develop new theories that better fit the available evidence. Knuckle-dragging imbeciles just accept as gospel whatever their mommies told them when they were kids, and ignore or try to rationalize away any evidence that conflicts with mommy's narrative. When he was a kid, Obama's mommy told him that all Third-worlders, especially the brown and muslim variety, are good and noble and superior beings who only commit acts of horrendous violence in justifiable response to centuries of oppression by evil white western imperialists. And you will never, never, ever be able to convince Obama otherwise. No matter the evidence. Posted by: Barry Hussein Obama at July 15, 2016 08:11 AM (NnYnv) 64
Thinking about how islamist jihad is hitting ever closer to home, it occurs to me that at some point there will be a surviving family member of a jihad victim who, instead of laying flowers and lighting a candle on the street; knowing that the government will not do anything, actually seeks vengeance on a personal level. This might take the form of an assault on a random muslim or group, or perhaps an arson against a mosque or something similar. The ever-dreaded "backlash" may not be a societal-level backlash, but a one-on-one backlash. Just a random thought.

If there's one thing Trump knows, it's marketing. As long as he's doing as well as he is, he isn't going to spend money. He's betting on the short-attention spans of modern Americans. That TV and radio ads won't move the needle till the last weeks. And when the time comes, he'll have all that money he saved earlier to spend. I met up with an old friend who is a German cop last weekend. I asked about the refugees in Germany and he told me if the people only knew what was going on they would burn down the Reichstag in Berlin. Politics is sitting on top of the stats and police are told to keep mum. If someone on the Trump campaign were smart, they'd get a top-notch writer like J.J to pen a barn-burning, no-holds-barred "you are being lied to!" speech for Teh Donald to replace whatever anodyne "make America great again" pablum he's probably already loaded up into the teleprompter for Cleveland. One of these days, some of the retired elite types in the UK, France, or even the US, are going to decide that the war has come home and they have to go back on active duty, if not necessarily in uniform. This will occur when it becomes obvious that the government has decided to tolerate a certain level of violence. When that happens there will be a lot of people with Muslim Sympathies turning up mysteriously dead.

It really is not that difficult to discern if a Muslim believes in Sharia law; sure they can lie so asking them directly is not the most effective approach. But you just have to watch how they live their lives..if they are adherent Muslims, and incorporate Sharia into their daily lives and that of their kids...then they do believe in it. For instance, their wives have to be totally covered up, daughters as well, no touching the opposite sex (even to shake hands)....

NY, New Jersey, California and others have crossed the event horizon. The Federal Government is effectively propping them up (guess who is an indirect beneficiary of EBT cards, SNAP, SSI, section 8, ... ad nauseum). If you watch for odd things or deal with people who are on these programs you will notice the Federal Government is having a cash flow problem. World Trade collapse will do that to countries. Don't worry. The Obama administration continually states that tax collections are at a all time high and that unemploy ment is under 5% (considered full employment). During World War 2, the combat cameramen who went ashore with the Marines on Tarawa shot some of the most graphic footage imaginable. The War Dept. did not want it released, but FDR to his credit overruled them. For the first time, the public saw the images of the bloated bodies of Marines floating in the surf. It was tough, it was horrible, it was real and it actually boosted public opinion about the war. That's also a reason why Eisenhower insisted that the liberated death camps be visited by as many soldiers and German civilians as possible, as well as photographed and filmed, despite their obviously horrific nature. Trying to whitewash horror committed by someone ultimately diminishes the pain and suffering of the victim. The perpetrator (often) is alive, and the defense tries to create sympathy for them by undermining their heinous acts against the people they hurt or killed. When its done on a national scale, one has to wonder at the reasoning behind it. Why is there a defense of the people who do this acts of horror? What does the defender gain from defending these brutes? The raw, brutal images of what this truck driver, or the planes of 9/11, or the vicious killings of Daesh/ISIS, and their splinter groups are never really shown in full, because "we wouldn't want to disturb viewers." Won't they be disturbed if it happens to them, because they had no true understanding of the intent of the enemy? Posted by: Moki at July 15, 2016 09:29 AM (ezHMO) 309

It would be instructive to note to the gun grabbers that the two attacks in France with the highest death tolls were performed with bombs (130) and a truck (84 so far).>>> And guns were also acquired and used along with the bombs/truck in a country that has very tough anti gun laws. Watching MSNBC this morning (good to keep up with the narrative BS). Two quick points:
1. They are spinning that Trump's postponement of his Veep announcement was based not on sensitivity to world events, but on his calculation that the Nice murders would take the air out of his announcement. 2. Hillary's campaign ad on MSNBC reaching out to disaffected Republicans basically says "Aren't you ashamed to be a Trump supporter?" Back in the Bush years, one of the things I heard ridiculed relentlessly by the ever cleverer-than-thou college leftists was the idea that "we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here."
Well, Obama retreated to the Clinton doctrine of war fighting, dropping bombs and saying "Look! I'm doing something! "Would it be tin-foil-hat territory to think that the Obama
administration somehow encouraged or enabled the flow of heroin to the US which is now killing over 10,000 people a year?" There have traditionally been two global centers of heroin's feedstock, the opium poppy: the Golden Triangle in SE Asia, and Afghanistan. The trade out of Afghanistan has traditionally been under Muslim control and routed via intermediary Muslim countries. So, given Obama's propensity to smooth the way for his co-religionists in all regards, it's little wonder that suddenly there's more heroin around than ever before.
