Potential Trump veep Michael Flynn and Michael Ledeen on Levin last night, talking about their new book.

Worth a listen.

Actually, all of Levin last night was well worth it. The first hour alone underscores and puts the exclamation point on the Marxist/terrorist/treasonous BLM movement - with guess-who as it's head.

If Louie Gohmert and Ted Cruz were majority leaders, they'd have the Democrat miscreants forcibly removed from the House and Senate.

Oh well.

13 I noticed that USA Today has been featuring a neat little "Trump and the Law" logo on their front page the past few days. The logo accompanies their hit pieces on Trump's legal problems.

Funny though, how there's no "Hillary and the Law" logo.

24 I think the principle damage the ass clown and snark artist John Stewert has done is given birth to unrepentant deuschebag leftists like Seth Myers who have no business critiquing a serious man making a serious point as Giuliani was of BLM.

If you haven't seen it, it's as disgusting and revolting as you might imagine it to be.

31 "Obama Administration, see no evil, hear no evil when it comes to Iran"

This headline, of course, is dishonest.

It's dishonest to say that the administration engineered our surrender to Iran.

The administration--with the 100% complicity of the Republican Congress--engineered our surrender to Iran. Have we forgotten Bob Corker's role in this?

The problem American citizens face is larger than Obama, the Democrats, and/or the Left.

If there's to be a solution to the problems we face, that must start by acknowledging that the GOP is part of the problem.

Fuck the GOP.

If you aren't using drugs, you aren't going to plea to a lesser charge.

If you ARE using drugs, and the test has some flaws in it, YOU plead guilty to something. YOU did that. Nobody got convicted falsely.

Legitimize a terrorist organization by equating it with the suffrage and civil rights movements. Intentionally lie about history to confuse and confound opposition, make said opposition into an evil that must be destroyed and then foment total insurrection.

47 One of the sheriff's departments in my area has felt the need to issue a public reminder that playing this Pokemon Go thing does not give one a free pass to trespass on private property. Which, apparently, has become a local problem: retarded adult children with smartphones wandering around outside churches, businesses, and private homes, often at night, in order to "find" Pokemon.

What a dumb time to be alive? Yes.

51 morning all

42/43 We were running to the grocery store yesterday, and almost hit two or three groups of kids, who were walking across the parking lot and looking at their phones, rather than the cars trying to park.

I have never seen ANY kids walking in that parking lot, unless they were carrying groceries for their moms.

So it's good that they are getting out, I just wish they would watch where they were going.

Trump's doing a rally today in Westfield, Indiana at 7:30 pm. He gave a darn good speech on Veterans' Reform yesterday in Virginia Beach, introducing his speech with a detour into the other brave men and women who serve in uniform (cops) and slamming the hell out of Hillary and making her part and parcel of the degradation of law and order. Promised an investigation of the V.A., the results of which would be laid before Congress to create new legislation on it. Also promised reform of the civil service rules that allow child molesters and armed robbers to keep their jobs at the V.A. and award bonuses to executives who ran hundreds of millions of dollars over budget.

Be nice if he could stay passionate AND on the rails for his appearance tonight.

Just another lawyer money grab that doesn't pass the common
sense test.

If you aren't using drugs, you aren't going to plea to a lesser charge.

Posted by: BurtTC

I'm gonna disagree with you on this. Facing two years in prison vs. a 45 day stretch -- This is FREQUENTLY the kind of difference you face in sentencing risk you take when you turn down a plea deal and go to trial and lose. And the State rarely loses, cuz it has all the lawyer power it wants to tap, the expert 'witnesses', etc. and so forth. It takes money, and lots of it, to put on a good defense.

It's why 95% of cases are pleaded out; in fact, the system would crash if even 20% demanded a trial. So the plea terms are usually pretty lenient compared to 'the full force of the law'. And people facing charges are told by every defense lawyer that if they go to trial and lose, they will get hit much much harder than if they plea.

Because it's true.

And also keep in mind that some prosecutors and cops will bend or break the rules (ie hide exculpatory evidence, lie, etc.) to get a conviction.

This is why people plead guilty to charges they are not guilty of.

GA had statewide blue laws until about 5 years ago. After that, Counties voted individually whether to allow Sunday sales. Most chose freedom, but not all. Liquor store owners were the most opposed, as they would then have to be open for another day for no real bump in sales.

128 Caveat: I'm not anti-police, by and large, just like in any other situation, there are problems.

That said, police departments, local and state governments, could take a pretty significant step, in my humble opinion toward changing broad attitudes toward police - and corruption, in general, if they'd at least appear to put a stop to the blatantly corrupt practice of legalized, government sanctioned theft that is civil asset forfeiture. As long at that openly corrupt practice persists, people are not going to trust police. They just aren't.

133 Thousands convicted wrongly by unreliable drug tests

I failed one once when working a temp job, and I hadn't touched any drugs. Luckily, the results came in on my last day anyway, as I had already found regular employment.

I was driving a forktruck at an enormous plant that makes a very well-known brand of tires. 3 weeks into the gig, my boss says,"I still haven't sent you for your drug screening and the big bosses are on my ass, so you have to go tomorrow. You get paid for your time."

I said, "Um, I already told you that's my last day here because I start my new job on Monday."

He says "I know it's ridiculous red tape, but if you don't go I can get in trouble."

So I went for the screening, completely clean of any drugs. Because the lab is required to notify you immediately if you fail, I got a call that afternoon telling me I "failed." I laughed and said "Your test sucks and today was my last day there anyway."

But yeah, the tests are inaccurate. If that had been my real job I wouldn't have been laughing.

There have been efforts for years to get PA state out of the liquor store business and turn sales over entirely to private businesses. These have been firmly opposed by - you guessed it - the unionized state employees of said state liquor stores.

Yeah, I know. It was about keeping Sunday Holy and restful. The 24/7 world that began to develop in the last several decades began to render it out of date. Laws here changed sometime in the early 90s. Want a hamburger from the Dariy Queen 10pm on a Sunday night now, you got it.

163 JJ you are still looking at it from the perspective of a consumer and not the person who then has to work on Sunday. It's an antiquated idea since fewer and fewer people go to church anymore, but the idea was to give all Christians the day off to worship. Same reason you go to an uber Jewish part of Brooklyn or Israel and the stores are closed on Saturday.

169 128 Caveat: I'm not anti-police, by and large, just like in any other situation, there are problems.

I have to praise HL's customer service. I was once looking for something very specific in a pair of candle holders, and I found what I wanted there but they only had one in stock, but of course.

I talked to the manager and she told me she'd get me one right away and call me as soon as it came in. The amazing thing is, she actually did exactly what she said she'd do, a rare occurance there days. I had it 3 days later. And all for an 8-dollar candle holder.

Ahhh. In Riyadh, a particular type of sparkling apple cider was hugely popular and sold in all of the Safeways there (where you could also get Bluebell Ice cream, and every type of Rotel tomatoes. The Safeway manager was from Texas, God bless 'em.) The cider was horrid, at least to me, but the top was one of those ceramic and wire types, that could reseal. Saudis would cases of the stuff, and I thought it was because they loved the non alcoholic drink.

Turns out they would add yeast and make the cider into some really nasty hooch. But it would slip by the mutawwa, so they could get away with it.

It also explained some of the absolutely fantastic car wrecks on Thursday and Friday mornings.

230 It's crazy expensive to get a liquor license in NJ, so you see some very fine restaurants that do not have a liquor license. They will allow you to bring your own wine, and they will open it for you for a "corkage" fee. It's byob. It's the weirdest thing to me
Posted by: ThunderB

They do it here in Texas in places. I guess the cost of a liquor licenses are so steep that smaller restaurants say fugg it and just put up a byob sign.
We used to have a bar that was that way. You paid a cover charge and a set-up fee. (Glasses, ice, soda, etc) They didn't need a liquor license and people had a place to go.

248 And, on the subject of Jews and Chinese, one of two old jokes on the subject.

Guy walks into a deli on the Lower East Side. Joint is packed, so he decides he'll have to share a table with strangers. He sees a spot, and goes over.

Fresh off the boat Jew, beard and earlocks and all, sitting with a Chinese man; an odd couple.

Guy asks to join, they agree. Jew stands up, says, 'How do you do? My name is Sean Ferguson.'

Chinese guy stands up, says, 'How do you do? My name is Sean Ferguson.'

Guy sorta does a double-take, but sits down. They chat a bit and he works up the nerve to ask the Jew about his name.

'Ellis Island, and I didn't know a word of English, but i'd memorized the order of the questions. When he asked for my name, I went blank and said: Ich hab schoen furgessen. So the idiot clerk writes down Sean Ferguson. And here I am.'

They share a laugh - he has part of the answer, but he HAS to know.

'Okay,' he says to the Chinese man, 'what's your story?'

'Well,' he says, 'I'm standing right behind this guy in line. The clerk says to me, What's your name? and I tell him Sam Ting.'

I saw Hillary talking about providing Medicare to everyone over 55 yesterday.

Medicare relies on taxes from current workers to pay for other peoples benefits, so consider the financial impact of what she just said. Today, workers pay Medicare taxes until they die or retire (call it age 65 for discussions sake), so about 40 years. She just said she wants to wipe ten years off that contribution side and add it to the cost side, so taxes would be collected for 25% fewer years and the cost side would expand significantly.

Cui bono?

Well, obviously the insurance companies who no longer pay costs of private medical insurance for that group win big.

Taxpayers get absolutely slammed, especially poor and middle class taxpayers. Medicare is already nearly bankrupt and now she wants to expand it by a huge number, meaning there will be a massive expansion in Medicare taxes, the most regressive tax we have.

This is one promise she is making to pacify the Bern-ers, and there is no single worse idea she could possibly have proposed. I wish somebody would call her on that!

DEMS IN DISARRAY: Anti-abortion Democrats fire back.

Anti-abortion Democrats are firing back at members of their party's platform committee for supporting language that would call for repealing a law preventing the use of federal funds for abortion.

The language inserted in the "reproductive health" section of the Democratic Party's draft platform for the first time calls for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, a pillar of the anti-abortion movement.

Sen. Bob Casey Jr., a Democrat from Pennsylvania who opposes abortion, was concerned enough about the change to write a letter to the DNC platform committee urging them to reconsider.

...

Another anti-abortion Democrat, Sen. Joe Manchin ( W.Va. ), has also criticized the proposed change.

They're "anti-abortion Democrats," but they'll fully support Hillary.

But to me personally it is what is likely to be delivered and that is : borders, supreme court and overall sanity, plus the business climate that is desperately needed. these are just a few things, aside from finally putting an end to obama's stalinist regime and its enablers.

323 The California debt story at that link is three years old.

CA's current debt is not $127 billion, it's now more than $400 billion. But that debt is still only 17% of CA's GDP. Quite a few states have debt-to-GDP ratios as high as that or higher (Texas is about equal to CA, and New York tops the list at 24%).

Not sure about states, but with countries, debt supposedly doesn't start seriously dragging on the economy until it reaches about 70% of GDP.

334 Re: Dress Woman:

It's a beautifully crafted image. It's got dynamism - the officers in motion - and stability. It's aligned properly, it has favorable aspect ratios, and generally obeys the classical rules of visual composition. A random shutterbug would focus more toward the middle of the frame, missing the context of the phalanx of police in front of her, and the empty street behind her, and would not be able to capture what the photo-artists call 'the decisive moment.' Yeah, whoever shot this knew his/her stuff, and was set up beforehand.

Digital age, so it was a digital imager - I refuse to call those gadgets 'cameras' - probably shot on a tripod. If I were doing it, I'd have it doing as many frames per sec as possible, to ensure I don't miss a thing, and might even consider layering a few of the images to attain the desired effect.

From the background, you can tell the photographer was shooting to capture and freeze the motion - he shot wide-open, as they say, to take advantage of a faster shutter speed. Someone shooting on the fly with one of those gadgets would set it to auto-focus, auto-exposure, etc., but this photographer didn't, it was set manual, with a limited depth of field from the aperture, requiring even more care. You can see that the sky to the left is over-exposed - auto mode wouldn't do that - aperture, like everything else, was a conscious, artistic decision.

Really masterful work in the service of a lie.

Such is life.....
