There was no real reason why he needed to make that statement. He essentially laid a perfect case against Hillary on the table and then he explicitly stated that anyone else, under similar circumstances, would probably be punished under the law. I think it is a possbility that he made the statement because, short of throwing his career away, that was as far as he could go. I also think he justified his actions, to himself, by "avoiding a Constitutional crisis" and "not interfering in the political process." All careful, insufficient and ultimately self-serving reasons. exactly he needs a lot of money he needs to run ads and hillary is swallowing up all of the prime time slots, and the networks are complicit - they will give her the prime time real estate over trump A great ad he could run, like the one linked on Drudge, would be to switch between the lies that Comey points to intermixed with the lies Hillarys campaign is throwing at Trump. Another thing about this campaign and about "The Beast" that people are ignoring is something that Trump's team keeps pointing out, but something that can't seem to get traction and that is the fact that "The Beast" managed to make $141 million dollars during her term as Sec of State.
How the fuck is this not important? She had a second job. A second job that paid her exponentially more than her salary as Sec of State. Where did her loyalties really lie? With this country, or with the people, mostly foreigners, who were paying her $141 million? Is it possible at all, that she rationalized, even a little that her doing the things that caused her to be paid a fortune were good for everyone? How much time would she have had to devote to activities outside her job to be paid $141 million dollars? What would she have to do, what services would she have to perform, to be paid $141 million. Ah, she *merged* her two jobs, so that what she did at State was also what was best for the Clinton Foundation. That's the thing: the email was the crime to cover other worse crimes (similar to money laundering, tax evasion), such as taking bribes/"donations" to make certain SoS decisions, such as mining rights. Last night, the FBI facebook page had 27 thousand 5 star reviews, and 9 thousand 1 star reviews (most of those 1 star reviews obviously having been created within the last day). I just checked now. It's got 11k 5 star reviews and 42k 1 star reviews. So not only are lots of new people expressing outrage, but over half the people who at some point in time had thought the FBI was worth of 5 stars (whatever metric that means) have changed their mind publicly.

Is it possible at all, that she rationalized, even a little that her doing the things that caused her to be paid a fortune were good for everyone?
_____________________ Not just possible, but she has a long record of such sleazy rationalizations. When Hillary was caught in Arkansas (the phony hog futures deal in which she turned a $1k investment into a $100k return overnight), she said that she and Bill were entitled to profit, due to their long years of "public service." Never mind that Hillary had only been hired and become a partner at the Rose Law Firm because of her ability to steer state business to the firm, due to the fact that she was married to Bill, Arkansas' AG and later governor. That wasn't enough of a perk for dear Hillary. And of course the family lived in the governor's mansion, and had cooks, drivers, and all the other perks of a governor's life. But that wasn't enough either. Hillary thought they also deserved to be rich, and she wasn't at all particular about how they accomplished that. Hillary has been a crook for decades.
