With regards abortion, it was a court created right and has now been promoted to a super right so any an all attempts to circumscribe any aspect of it by legislatures, the people representative or the people themselves will be visciously opposed.
The only way forward is to try to improve fetal viability which probably has a natural limit.
Abortion is their holy sacrament and they are not going to relinquish control of it any time soon.

I find it pretty hard to believe myself. But she has shifted the responsibility completely onto Comey and the FBI. If he doesn't recommend prosecution then there is no law anymore.
At least we'll get some finality on that score.

I was just reading a thing over at the very-liberal Onion offshoot The AV Club where a movie reviewer, in an article about action movies of the 70s, actually refers to Dirty Harry's handgun as a "machine gun." Not that the idiot mistook it for a real machine gun (I think) but because they thought it was fully automatic. Because it was so big and scary looking, I guess.
What's especially jaw-dropping is that to believe it was an automatic weapon, they apparently missed the "5 shots or 6" scenes (both of them!) which are only, like, really well-known in pop culture. Which the AV Club is supposed to cover, as experts.

I know, I know, it's just that this isn;t about a classified doc slipping out here and there, she had some of the most highly classified docs sitting on her server - stuff that, according to Catherine Herridge, she may not even have been authorized to read. So...we're talking a very serious corruption of classified doc handling that involves more than just Hillary and a few aides, likely people in intelligence orgs who have been compromised. And that's not even getting into the foundation funny business - which has got to be really bad.
I just don't see how that can go unacknowledged, let alone unpunished.

It's actually three areas: public corruption, the Espionage Act and violations of the public records act. The scary part is the latter includes some potential misdemeanor violations. This all could be kabuki to have Hillary cop to a misdemeanor well before Labor Day. Politically, the firestorm from the FBI not recommending prosecution would be worse for her than basically a speeding ticket.
The kabuki is obvious, but where it leads is hard to predict. And, yes, it's obvious the Lynch/Bill Clinton bullshit was orchestrated to insulate the DOJ from whatever the FBI recommends.
The most serious aspect of all this is it appears we are about to witness the official end to the Rule of Law in the United States. We've been inching there in no small part due to illegal immigration, but this will make feudalism official.

I live in NJ. I am well aware of all of the gun control legislation in this state. I am also aware of the efforts to expand gun control and the efforts to roll it back.
I contact my representatives regularly about the topic, and I keep myself informed.
As for the latest legislation, most of it did not apply to guns, and was political theater. The only substantive change was banning the sale of .50 caliber weapons. Which, by the way, he vetoed.

For over a month, Hillary has resisted coming in to the FBI to have a cup of coffee with Comey, which would normally be the last step before the FBI completed its investigation.
Lynch's meeting with Bill wasn't an accident.
Known Unknowns:
What was the purpose of the meeting? My bet was that it was to deliver a real message, the kind you can't deliver in an e-mail or even a phone call: Lynch was telling Bill that an FBI criminal referral is coming, because Comey won't wait on Hillary's having a cup of coffee any longer. This will hit soon, and certainly before the D's convention.
The meeting was supposed to be a secret. Did anyone tip off the local TV news station that broke the story? My bet is that it was the Obamans. It's part of their creating a narrative that they had nothing to do with Hillary's Downfall.
What's next? Obama campaigns with Hillary this Tuesday in NC, and with Biden later in the week in Scranton. Watch the body language.

I'm a little late today because I've been arguing with idiots on Facebook this morning.

There was one more poll in the pollapolooza yesterday that was released. IBD/TIPP published the latest in their poll series, finding Clinton leading Trump 44/40. This is a slight change from their last poll where Clinton was leading 45/40. Interestingly, when the polled the ACTUAL race with all 4 candidates in it, it is 37/36/9/5.
My takeaway from all of the recent polling is that not much really changed in June. There were a few weird outliers like ABC and Rasmussen. But all in all the race remained pretty stable.
It is close and if the election were today Trump's very strong and loyal 40% coalition might very well win the election in a close race. And this is assuming traditional lively voter models. There is a strong case that Trump will bring new voters in and get cross over votes, while Clinton will not generate the same enthusiasm Obama did.
Anyway, I'm just reporting the numbers that are out there. It is anyone's race at this point. Both candidates have lots of room to grow their positives and pick up votes FOR them, and also have the potential for major catastrophes that hurt their chances (e.g. an FBI referral).

I think this only proves that Christie can read the tea leaves very well. If he was to have any chance at a republican nomination he had to back away from any previous stance he had on gun control.He IS pro gun control. I haven't looked at it yet, but I do see that Kennedy didn't have any lawyers; the Department of State did, but not Kennedy himself, unlike the other "witnesses" (scare quotes because none of them saw anything). State lawyers made approximately 200 objections.

I heard some one ask why is there even a Clinton Charitable Foundation to begin with? Wouldnt it be wiser to give money directly to the groups who are actually doing the work in the affected areas? For example, money directly to the Haitian Red Cross, to groups shipping necessities to Haiti, to churches with missions in Haiti providing care, e.g., orphanages, etc? Why would you not cut out the Clinton middleman?

It wasn't great news but it could have been worse, they classified at "Moderately concerning". It's pre-cancerous at this point and cauterization should remove it. They make no promises that it won't take several treatments though. The 6 month follow ups for 2 years will keep her on edge until the all clear.
Ladies, I know I'm a guy, but please, please don't put this stuff off. This amazing lady means everything to me and seeing her fret and stress breaks my heart. She's blaming herself because she blew off her yearly appointment and then had to wait 6 months to see "her doctor" for the next one.
Guys, suck it up and get your damn physicals too. I would hate to see her in my place because I was too stubborn to go check checked on.
