Republican Sen. Mark Kirk (Ill.), considered among the most vulnerable incumbents this election season, praised the Supreme Court's Monday ruling that struck down a controversial Texas abortion law.

"Glad to see #SCOTUS uphold access to health care for women," Kirk said on Twitter.

14 Saw this in the ONT, explaining how some polls were off by as much as 14 points from final result:

When you try to delegitimize somebody's vote, you don't change his mind, only his willingness to talk about it.

Everyone has to fight back strenuously against this. Put your finger in the face of the name caller and raise your voice just enough that other people notice, then ask, 'How many more people have to die, at sporting events, in restaurants, in nightclubs, at a workplace event, before you wise up? Don't act all high and mighty around me. It doesn't work anymore.'

Put the International socialists/New World Odor types on their heels.

The Social Justice clergywoman who got her letter published by our boss and sent out to every clergyperson and designated layperson in our area quoted Niemoller-"First they came for the trade unionists", etc. It's clear from her letter that she thinks the time to be silent is over and we must all speak from our pulpits that every person is on sacred worth (D'oh) and we must speak out against bigoted hatred. I think this was not a call to speak against radical Islam but yet another knock against conservative Christians. If you were going to update Neimoller's words to reflect the backlash against conservatives what would you say? I am asking because I am considering writing her a reply and would like some input:

On October 7, 1985, four PLF militants hijacked Achille Lauro off Egypt. The hijackers had been surprised by a crew member and acted prematurely. Holding the passengers and crew hostage, they directed the vessel to sail to Tartus, Syria, and demanded the release of 50 Palestinians then in Israeli prisons.

As many of the hostages were American tourists, U.S. President Ronald Reagan deployed the Navy's SEAL Team Six and Delta Force to stand-by and prepare for a possible rescue attempt to free the vessel from its hijackers.[3]

The Egyptian airliner carrying the hijackers was intercepted by F-14 Tomcats from the VF-74 "BeDevilers" and the VF-103 "Sluggers" of Carrier Air Wing 17, based on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga,[8] and directed to land at Naval Air Station Sigonella (a NATO air base in Sicily) under the orders of U.S. Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger; there, the hijackers were arrested by the Italian Carabinieri[9] after a disagreement between American and Italian authorities.[Note 1] The other passengers on the plane (including the hijackers' leader, Muhammad Zaidan) were allowed to continue on to their destination,[11] despite protests by the United States. Egypt demanded an apology from the U.S. for forcing the airplane off course.

Walter E. Fauntroy, a prominent figure of the civil rights era and the first delegate to represent the District of Columbia in Congress, was arrested in Virginia on Monday over outstanding warrants after spending years abroad as a fugitive. U.S. Customs and Border agents picked up Fauntroy, 83, at Dulles airport after he arrived on a flight from Dubai, the agency said in a statement.

Charges include failure to appear and fraud for allegedly passing a bad check. The five-figure sum was tied to an inaugural ball Fauntroy organized in 2009.

I was watching a news story on Brexit yesterday where they were showing a debate in Parliament on Brexit where they were starting to discuss the next steps.

The is something going on with this that most people, I don't think, have discussed and that is fear.

There is a real fear among the parliamentarians about what to do with this new independence.

They haven't been responsible for the direction and wellbeing of their country for 40 years. Now they are. It was so much easier for them to have their destinies decided by faceless bureaucrats and for them to pull in a tidy paycheck just for showing up for work.

I think it says a lot about the insidious attraction of this type of socialism.

125 Was Peter crucified because he stood with the union workers? Was Paul beheaded because he led La Raza rallies? No. These type of things are not enemies of the state. They are given prominence by the state. They are of the state. The Gospel of Jesus is the true revolutionary message, for it calls a person to a different allegiance, to a different kingdom. Jesus says, My kingdom is not of this world. It is the Gospel that is the danger. It is the Gospel that puts your neck on the chopping block.

The Gospel frees the soul. What SJW pastors are attempting to do is free people on the political level. We are not called to politics. We are called to preach the Gospel. Very often that takes the form of service to others. But service to others is the outpouring of the Gospel, it is not the point of the Gospel. The point of the Gospel is that Jesus became the Lamb of God, the sacrifice who takes away the sins of the world, and placing one's life in His hands reconciles us to a Holy God. Without that, we have only ourselves, and any works of righteousness are done in our power alone, not by the power of God's Holy Spirit.

149 Thanks MisHum. As time and events unfold, I really feel like we have to be sure of what we would die for. I think of all those people in the Middle East, in China, in North Korea, etc dying for their faith. I would die for the Gospel. I would not die for union workers making $15 an hour. I think we have very little time left before we have to make that decision, so it pisses me off when pastors focus on social justice instead of proclaiming the Gospel.

If you get into a verbal arguement is that a misdemenor offense and you can no longer be trusted with a firearm because you might become violent at some time in the future?

Can't be too carefull you know. Hurt feelings today means bruises tomorrow. One thing leads to another and the next thing you know, you are shooting up a gay nightclub, so just to be safe, if you argue with your spouse, you can't be trusted. In fact, you should be in jail because you are not a nice person.

Thats a Wahhabist Islamic group that Breitbart News recently reported was going to be put on a list of terror funders by U.S. government but was removed, reportedly under pressure from Saudi Arabia.

Breitbart
This latest revelation ties the Muslim World League directly to the The Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs and the Journal for Muslim Minority Affairs, an organization that Vanity Fair writer William D. Cohan called the Abedin family business.

A Pew Research Center survey released Monday details those stark divides between the attitudes of white and black Americans about racial issues in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn has lost two thirds of his Cabinet and seen more than 40 of his MPs revolt against his leadership over the last 48 hours. Today up to 150 MPs are expected to join together in an effort to oust the embattled party leader.

The rebels have criticised his performance in the EU referendum and called for him to stand down as leader but Mr Corbyn has promised to fight on.

325 The militia argument is stupid. For example, SC has a state militia - the SCUM. The SCUM could easily 'issue' weapons (anything - NFA, etc.) to its' members. The financial relationship to the SCUM could be direct or indirect. That's not defined in law and we have a long history of officers and unit's procuring their own arms and equipment.

So, by pushing the 'militia' argument, the progs are undermining the NFA.

My best friend from growing up worked his way through college buying up wrecked 914s and putting their different parts together to make ones that ran.

331 You could also bore the hell out of 914 motors and get them to, if I remember right, around 3,100 cc.

I'm trying to remember my old VW days, but I believe it was right around there, with 2,500 being the sweet spot.

But that's a lot of motor for very little car.

She'd be smart to ask photogenic, intelligent Mark Warner (D-VA), though he a) likely wouldn't take it, and b) isn't needed for her to win VA--it's a blue state. She'd get more out of a Warner pick than a Tim Kaine pick, as the latter looks like Baltar. A FL pick might be prudent.
