DoJ Mandates "Unconscious Bias" Awareness For Agents, Lawyers

The U.S. Justice Department will announce on Monday that more than 33,000 federal agents and prosecutors will receive training aimed at preventing unconscious bias from influencing their law enforcement decisions, department officials told Reuters.
The training will bring Justice Department employees in line with many local police departments across the country that have implemented bias prevention plans following a spate of shootings of unarmed black men by white police officers.
Nationwide protests following those shootings blamed police bias for unnecessary use of force against minorities.

Maybe part of this bias training could involve stripping the left of its right to riot. The government seems to believe the left has such a right. Over and over again, we see the left rioting without any legal consequences; now they're actually assaulting people, and even stabbing them.

And still the government gives the Space to Destroy.

They are averaging a person shot every 2 hours and 15 minutes. in the worst neighborhoods, Englewood and Austin, the cops are pretty much sitting in their cars doing nothing until they get a report, then they respond to clean up. Chicago's clearance rate on homicides is under 20%. Think about that: less than 20% of their murders are solved.

Reminds me that there was a similar case to the Trayvon Martin / Zimmerman case that happened in the Buffalo area just prior to the Martin incident, which had more damning facts for the shooter except the race roles were reversed. It remained a local story and the shooter was not charged IIRC. Or may have been quickly found innocent. I'd have to google again.

That relatively no one is aware of that case is journalistic treason.

I think part of the disconnect here is that most of the people forcing these decisions do not ever believe there will ever be another shooting war since they will be in power forever and they will never engage in one. They believe drone strikes or whatever will take care of things, but honestly I am not even sure they think about it.

To them, the military is one giant social program turning out people, who will then give money to universities, which will then be funneled back to them.

Heh. At one company I worked at, we did the whole "paintball leadership seminar" thing. I made it a point to make life EXTREMELY difficult for the Director of our department. Just because.

He kept hiding in the same spot behind two big truck tires and he was watching the field through the gap between the tires. So I kept popping the gap with paintballs, not so they'd go through (the gap was too narrow), but so they'd spray his goggles and keep him blind. Dude just never got it through his head that he needed to move.

Best part was the last game which was in the brush and wooded area. I managed to be all sneaky and low crawl behind him without anyone on his team seeing me. Jumped up and popped him in the ass and back with 5 shots from about 10-15 feet. After he saw the evil little grin I was sporting, I think he was scared of me for the next year or so. >

The last time that I had to take one of these courses was in So.Cal. It was taught by a black, feminist from UC Berkley who lectured us on race and how whitey is bad. A guy from my company that I went with challenged her on every assertion she made and she got so mad that she threatened to report him to our boss. He asked her why she felt so threatened if indeed she believed her views were so solid.

She was enraged. How dare anyone challenge her and express a differing opinion. It was quite the class.

I think she'll be helpful to them. it's just she wants to "make a difference"-It's the same sort of thing that happens with journalists. They want to change the status quo-not report the facts. I have actually met a clergy person who said, "We don't visit people in their homes anymore." This is apparently a new paradigm in the seminary. Younger people don't expect pastoral visits. However, there are lots of older people in the churches. I can't understand if people don't want a visit/communion at home if they're sick or in the hospital but you ASK them. You just don't not show up . In my denomination they are bringing in students in seminary to pastor small churches thinking that with their knowledge of modern technology and their age they'll bring in young people. Not necessarily. And if they are uncomfortable around older or sick people you chose the wrong profession. And to be far-All seminary students are not like this. I just am distressed when I hear this sort of thing.

And as far as another church-I'm a woman That narrows my choices if I want to pastor. I just do what I'm called to do through God's grace-love people, listen to them, call them to discipleship and help keep their focus on Jesus. If God wants me someplace else God will tell me. :^)

That's interesting, VIA. I must have missed that. He is a convert to Catholicism bc of a close friendship with a another Catholic. Before that, he identified as Jewish bc his Mom is. He still wears a cross of David and two crosses everyday and dog tags. In Orlando when he delivered a speech after the massacre, Billy Graham had a team of people there who asked to pray with him. I'm not sure he was exactly comfortable bc religion is such a new and mostly private thing for him that he is still trying to figure out, but he was touched by the gesture and has mentioned it several times since. They were all standing in a circle holding hands with one person leading and others making acclaimations like "Amen"
and "Yes, Lord." Milo did t say anything and kept his sunglasses on even though they were indoors. It was really very sweet.

I did that once. Great sport. Some asshole consultant (BIRM) was implicitly re-defining terms to make his argument sound plausible. I challenged on it, and supplied the commonly understood meanings of the terms. After a bit of a dog fight, he finally said, "Well, let's not get hung up on language."

As for your black feminist saying whitey was bad, ask her to list what she considers to be the top five contributions of her crew, and spot her "peanut butter" as one of the first one.I find that that one shuts them up fast.

It's the crucial difference between what the scoiologists call "informational conformaty" versus "normative conformity."

"Informational conformity" is when you actually change your opinions in order to conform to the social order.

"Normative conformity" is when you pretend to change your opinions to match everyone else's opinions so that you aren't punished or shunned by society.

One of the defining characteristics of the Left is that they really really think they can can impose "informational conformity" on everyone (i.e. actually transform them into actual leftists), whereas in reality they only ever succeed in imposing "normative conformity" on everyone (i.e. bullying them into silence or false public affirmations of the dominant leftist narrative).

The result, in this instance, is that police will hesitate -- against their better judgment -- when reaching for their guns when confronting black suspects, out of fear of getting caught up in a racism brouhaha; and as a consequence more cops will indeed get shot by those black suspects who turn out to actually have guns.

And this result -- more dead cops -- is the very reason these "anti-bias" training courses exist. They are an attempt to give black gun-slingers an edge in the urban battlefield, by enforcing "hesitance due to fear of social condemnation" as the Rules of Engagement for the police.

The Left has learned three important things:

1) They more or less have absolute control of the popular media.

2) They don't need to pretend to be objective anymore because they have control of the popular media.

All they need to do is produce propaganda.

Ignore totally what hurts their team.
Promote what helps their team.
Lie constantly about the other side.

3) They will suffer no consequences for their actions/inaction either politically, socially, legally, financially, or through physical violence.

On the other hand, the Left/Democrats are quite willing to use these methods and more against those on the Right.

The other sounds like religion coming out of politics, if you see what I mean. I have no doubt this woman is a sincere Christian. All he did was suggest (completely ludicrous and unworkable) alternate uses for peanut butter (aside from just eating it), in order to hopefully expand the retail market for peanuts for black peanut farmers. And literally none of his suggestions involving peanut butter were ever put into use (e.g. like using it as a face cream, etc.).

we knew of a very small synagogue that hired a gay rabbi, who brought his husband and his adopted son. He was sure he was going to shock them and teach them tolerance (forgetting they hired him in the first place). He quit in a year. He wasnt even a rabbi anymore. He got bored

IMO, you can't go in wanting to change people. You have to love them and work with them where they are, and maybe you see things differently as pastor and laypeople, but anyone who wants to go in to "teach people things" (aside from the teaching ministry of the church or synagogue) will have problems because it implies you think you're better than they are.
