On my last ship.... we had to do Quarterdeck watches.... and I had a deal with my Watchbill Coordinator that I'd do every other Midwatch (Midnight to 4AM) if I consistently got the same guys to stand watch with.... (a watch no one ever wanted to do....)...
I had 3 of the most intelligent enlisted guys on the ship, standing watch with me... for a couple of years.
CO used to send us newly commissioned Junior Officers to do their first Officer of the Deck watches, so they could see that not all enlisted people were idiots (as they had been taught)...
Had one show up... young kid... Redhead... small.... freckles... and my first thought was 'my, how cute, its Oppie'....
I then found out I was going to end up working for him....
It was time.... to retire...

I've heard the "strike" argument before, but have never seen a discussion of how it would be implemented. For most people that pay taxes, if they don't work they don't eat, and if they do work, they don't really have any option to prevent their taxes from being withheld and forwarded to the feds!

I will admit when I woke and saw the Brexit vote my first thought was how will this help me. My sister and I have been over twice in the last 4 years and have spent over 3 weeks in Scotland. Actually close to buying property. Nicest people you will even meet and beauty beyond words. The 50 mil debt forgiveness is the first thing I've seen that indicates strongly that he's actually intent on doing *anything* in the general, as opposed to just the primary (sort of the Hillary speech as well).
I was actually surprised because it broke the pattern.
