Driver in Freddie Gray Case, Seen as Most at Risk of Guilty Finding, Acquitted of All Charges

On one hand, Marilyn Mosby is corrupt; but, on the other hand, she's also incompetent.

The Baltimore Police van driver accused of giving a "rough ride" that killed Freddie Gray was acquitted of all charges Thursday by Circuit Judge Barry Williams.

Officer Caesar Goodson Jr., 46, had faced the most serious charges of any of the six officers indicted in Gray's arrest and death last April, including second-degree depraved heart murder. Goodson was also acquitted of three counts of manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office.

His acquittal, which comes after Williams considered the charges for three days, throws the rest of the cases into jeopardy. The other officers charged face similar, but lesser accusations.

It is very important for us to maintain our contacts within the Muslim community because often individuals, if theyre from that community and theyre being radicalized, their friends and families will see it first, Lynch told CNNs Dana Bash.

145 There's going to be a massive behind the scenes push to get some kind of a conviction on one of the white cops, at least.

The subject came up last week of the Oscar Grant shooting here in the SF Bay Area. It's an instructive lesson in how the justice system works now for white cops who end up in imbroglios with black suspects.

Briefly, shorn of all SJW distortions, Grant was a young black felon who was drugged up and breaking parole, was accused of being in a gang fight, and was being taken under arrest. He physically resisted and moved his hands in a way suggestive of a possible grab for a weapon. The cop wanted to use the taser on Grant, but, under conditions of extreme stress and confusion, the cop instead drew and fired his sidearm. A single lethal shot.

The cop was thrown off the force, the police union declined to help him, he was prosecuted for Murder One, and the authorities pulled out every stop in a George Zimmerman-level kangaroo court. They didn't get the murder rap to stick, but they did get manslaughter. The cop's life and career were destroyed.

Compare and contrast this to another case of taser-sidearm confusion here in Commiefornia. Suspect shot and killed by an officer who meant to tase him and drew the wrong weapon, just as in the Grant case. This was under much less dangerous and confusing circumstances, mind you. This second suspect had already been searched and restrained. Yet no prosecution was spun up in response to this death. Not even any reprimand or demotion. The officer in question was merely sent for "retraining" and continued in law enforcement.

So what was different in the second instance versus the first? Glad you asked.

First instance: white male cop.

Second instance: Hispanic female cop.

During the riots last year, the surrounding blocks were smashed up pretty good. The 7-11s, the Royal Farms, even my favorite bar. Today the biggest disturbance has been the constant buzzing of the news helicopters looking for more newsworthy types of disturbance. A single dude with a bullhorn walked up the main street, but that's it so far. Wherever the crowds around the courthouse went, they didn't come this way, at least not cohesively enough to be noticeable.

disaster. It's a crippling failure of the Narrative you tried to put in
place.

Just like Obongo claiming he's "madder than anybody" about the most recent fuckup in his Administration, and he'll "get to the bottom of it." Or so he maintains, until people forget about it.

235 The Marine Corps acknowledged Thursday it had misidentified one of the six men in the iconic 1945 World War II photo of the flag-raising on Iwo Jima.

The investigation solved one mystery but raised another. The Marine Corps investigation identified a man who has never been officially linked to the famous photo: Pvt. 1st Class Harold Schultz, who died in 1995 and went through life without publicly talking about his role.

Why doesnt he say anything to anyone, asked Charles Neimeyer, a Marine Corps historian who was on the panel that investigated the identities of the flag raisers. Thats the mystery.

I think he took his secret to the grave, Neimeyer said.

U.S. Marine Corps Pfc. Harold Schultz (Photo: Courtesy of The Smithsonian Channel)
The Marine Corps investigation concluded with near certainty that Schultz was one of the Marines raising the flag in the photo.

The investigation also determined that John Bradley, a Navy corpsman, was not in the photograph taken on Japans Mount Suribachi by Joe Rosenthal, a photographer for the Associated Press. The Feb. 23, 1945, photo that has been reproduced over seven decades actually depicts the second flag-raising of the day.

Which also explains why John Bradley never wanted to talk about it.

sanity says yes. racial politics - the critical factor - might even be verging that way now, as they can expect to lose from here on out.

It would be interesting to see a breakdown of the costs of this racial faux-grievance-mongering insanity to Baltimore taxpayers.

$6.5 million to the family of a brain-damaged drug dealer who was throwing himself around in the back of a police van; millions more to investigate and (unsuccessfully) prosecute the cops who arrested and transported the little thug. The cops' union pays for the cops' defense lawyers, and of course the taxpayers pay for the cops' union, so that's millions more dollars . . . .

Some investigative reporter should tally up how many tens of millions of dollars this futile exercise in "social justice" pandering has cost the taxpayers.

Of course, Baltimore probably has nothing better to spend its public money on, right? Surely their public schools are top rate . . . .

That's why I stick to the U.P. Which, if you look at the map, clearly belongs to Wisconsin and has nothing to do with Michigan. But apparently there was some land deal involving Toledo (yeah, Toledo) way back when and Wisconsin lost the U.P. to Michigan. I never could figure that one out.

I'm talking to this woman from MI who tells me she summers in the UP but winters "down in Gaylord."
I figure Gaylord is a Detroit suburb or something in southern MI but still think she's nuts. ANYWHERE in MI is too cold.
Then I find out that Gaylord is practically as far north as Petoski. WTF?
Probably a dirty Skandi with antifreeze in her veins.

Ohio stole Michigan's land. It's why there is so much terrorism today in the Middle West: wolverines fighting for the right of return to Ohio.

Recently, to help curb the violence, President Obama offered Governor Snyder a ten-year path to nuclear weapons.

Simple. Where, exactly, was the border with Ohio? According to Michigan it was such to include Toledo, according to Ohio, no. The dispute involved a "war" and was settled by Congress which gave Toledo to Ohio. Ohio, being a state, had more pull than a Territory like Michigan. To compensate Michigan, Congress granted it the U.P. Wisconsin had even fewer people and was in less of a position to complain.

And thus we are ever watchful lest the irredentist Cheeseheads decide to recover the Holy City of Copper Harbor by force of arms.

The investigation also determined that John Bradley, a Navy corpsman, was not in the photograph taken on Japans Mount Suribachi by Joe Rosenthal, a photographer for the Associated Press.

You do know the picture Rosenthal took was a re-enactment of the original flag raising? I think they got a bigger flag for the second raising, too. No telling who was actually involved in the original flag raising on day three of a 31 day battle.

My dad took Joe Rosenthal on his first combat patrol in Guam. He told me he would look back at Joe and remember his eyes as wide as saucers. The kid from Brooklyn was terrified. Iwo was a year later. I'm sure he got the hang of things by then.

No chance. AA hires, especially black females, never get treated that way. They get the Michelle Obama treatment: hired out of Harvard Law, she was assigned a special "mentor" at Sidley & Austin (her one and only lawyer job). She flunked the Illinois state bar exam, but they kept her on (of course), and let her try again. She eventually passed, but still sucked as a lawyer, so after a couple years longer than any other failing associate would have been given, she was gently taken aside and told that the law firm "just wasn't the right fit" for her, but that they'd be happy to help her pack up her things.

BTW, read an article on aol the other day about Michelle flunking the Illinois bar exam. Very first time I have ever seen that in print in any msm article. (I only knew because I checked the Illinois state bar's records and saw the date of her admission). For years the public has been fed the story of Michelle as a "successful, high-powered Chicago lawyer who attended Harvard Law." Nobody ever mentioned her special mentors, or the fact that she flunked the bar, or that she was fired from the only lawyer job she ever had, or that all her other jobs were make-work, non-lawyer, political patronage jobs that she was given simply because of who she was married to. The last job she had paid her over $300k a year, and when she left to go to the White House, they didn't even bother to hire anyone to replace her -- because she wasn't actually doing any meaningful work.

285 I refuse to help liberal social media businesses or I would point out to Ms Colen that almost 100% of Muslims who engage in holy war by shooting innocent people or as their book says terrorizing unbelievers, have a spotless criminal record. Unless the government can get into their heads and read their thoughts the only thing tougher background checks will do is punish good people with no intention of engaging in religiously inspired warfare.

Ms. Colen your pleas, if acted upon, are only going to lead to a more unstable and unsafe society as good hard working productive citizens become marginalized by a government that gets to pick and choose who can enjoy their natural right to self defense.

You would think one of these sharp lawyer politicians like I don't know, Paul Ryan could articulate this to people being manipulated by a power mad Socialist Statist Democrat Party.

Not exactly...

We go down to Eastern Market quite regularly which is in the heart of the ghetto. Never any problems.

Mario's, one of the old-school restaurants where the waiters (only waiters, no waitresses) are still old Italians in tuxedos, making your Caesar salad at the table, is right in the Cass Corridor, site of the '68 riots.

You can still pull up out front and walk in, leaving your car open and running even if the valet isn't around.

Of course, there are shitholes a few blocks away where you're sure to be raped and murdered.

Just got to know which streets to go down and which ones to pass by.
