Marco Rubio, In Act of Moral Generosity, Gives His Cultists Reason to Cling to Their Dreary Lives

The guy who famously hated being a Senator is running again to be Senator.

Former Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio reversed course Wednesday and said he will seek re-election to the Senate, telling Fox News: “I changed my mind.”

The decision, widely expected among his Florida Republican colleagues, follows repeated claims during the GOP presidential primary race that he would not run again for Senate.

Rubio for months had spoken about his frustrations with the Senate, in explaining his original decision to run for the presidency only – and defending himself against criticism for missed votes.

Wall Street perked up at the news, with investors grabbing up stocks in the Water, Grandpas, and America! sectors.

I'm more concerned about Mario's long-term job prospects. I mean, a man of his skills, he's essentially to to reapply for his job every six years. That's got to be taking a toll on the little fella.

Surely someone could employ him as a boatswain or the guy shaking mariachis in a Chilis restaurant somewhere. I worry about him. He's already losing much of his luxurious hair.

Massachusetts has a long and storied history of asshole politicians (BIRM). One famous clown who played the Rubio Gambit was Marty Meehan. In 1992, he ran for the House, clamoring for "campaign finance reform" and "term limits." He swore he'd never serve more than four terms: "the best test of any politician's credibility on term limits is whether they are willing to put their careers where their mouths are and limit their own service."

Well, came 2000 and time for Maaahhhty to step down. And golly gosh, guess what? He took a look around and realized that the country simply couldn't do without his steady hand at the tiller.

The scumbag's lard-filled ass was finally levered out in 2007, when he was named as chancellor to UMass Lowell.

Don't really care about a candidates' supporters, or their antics, though some ace's best stuff is inspired by them in this case.

It's the candidates themselves that matter. And Rubio distinguished himself only by his embrace of one the most dangerously stupid (not to mention offensive) policy "ideas" in history, and then his transparent and audacious mendacity in pretending he hadn't embraced it.

But of course idiots are incapable of reading words, and can only make bad guesses based on the "Hurray/boo" school of emotivisim -- they have no idea what words actually mean. They can only sense the emotional charge of a statement as a "hurray" or a "boo."

The actual "boo" here was for Rubio's lunatic and stpuic cultists, who were among the worst-behaved of all partisans this cycle. so much smug sneering at how only they understood the mood of the electorate or who woild win an election.

No matter how many times you pointed out that a pro-amnesty candidate would not win the primary of an anti-amnesty party, they just got more snug and sneering and insisted they knew better.

Senator Rubio strikes me as a guy who has no idea what an hour of actual, productive work looks or feels like. So let him stay in the Senate where he can do Senate stuff, or let him get voted out so he can write a "tell-all" book with a 20-page index full of all the names that he can drop. Or put him out to seed on a government pension so he can spend his days on that awesome boat of his. Whatever.

218 Here's a nice little Easter Egg for you.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) will stand trial on charges of fraud and cover up for alleged crimes perpetrated against hundreds of victims, according to a new ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

The case against CAIR National was originally dismissed by a federal judge but unanimously overturned by the appellate court. Two cases are involved in the suit, which the appellate court consolidated into one, since both cases involve racketeering, a federal RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) crime.

The lawsuits claim that CAIR National was aware that Morris Days, the "Resident Attorney" and "Manager for Civil Rights" at the now defunct CAIR-Maryland/Virginia chapter in Herndon, Virginia, was in fact not an attorney and that he failed to provide legal services for clients who came to CAIR for legal representation.

Moreover, the suits claim, CAIR knew of this fraud and purposefully conspired with Days to keep the CAIR clients from discovering that their legal matters were being mishandled or not handled at all. In addition, the complaints allege that, according to CAIR's own internal documents, there were hundreds of victims of the fraud scheme.

See WZ.

Has the court never heard of Taqiyya?

He lost because he's shown himself to be a self serving liar from the get go.

How long after he was elected Senator did he go back on his word about amnesty? Less than a year or something?

Meaning he figured out he isn't qualified for anything else that is as easy and pays off so well.

Who are we talking about, the Kardashians? I'm pretty sure the queen, Brucella, is still allowed to vote, because he was never charged with killing that woman with his car.

Some of them though, it's not that they're not allowed to vote, it's that they can't fit their rear ends into the voting booth.

I've been willing to back Rubio longer than most people on this board. While I think he has some good political skills, his instincts are awful. There was simply no reason for him to say he was only going to run for one term when it seemed likely that if he failed in securing the Presidency or VP slot, he would want to run. There was no reason for him to run in FL when it was clear he was not going to do well there. I don't mind having Marco in the Senate, but I'm not sure he will ever go farther.

Note the disparity: Obama's response to Americans he disagrees with? "Get in their faces and punch back twice as hard." His attorney general's response to the worst terror attack on American soil since 9/11? Peace, love and sunshine, which speaks volumes with who the White House believes it's really at war with. Or as I wrote in 2009, "Roll Over Von Clausewitz."

For years, people have debated what the response would have been if Al Gore or Obama had been president on 9/11. Now we know.
