Trump Speech to Attack Hillary on Libya Warmongering, Benghazi Murders, and Clinton Foundation Buckraking

On now. Livestream here.

Transcript here.

Very good speech. He wasn't as specific about Hillary's crimes as I'd hoped, but he was a lot better in laying out/defending his vision for the country.

One of the parts I liked the best was his noting the change in the American mentalit. He noted we'd settled the west, "dug out the Panama canal," and sent "satellites" across the solar system, but then we started thinking small, losing our sense of confidence and daring.

Great stuff. I've noticed that a lot myself.

I liked the big-picture vision stuff here. It contrasts well to Hillary's vision -- she has none, except that she's a woman and it would be a first.

Yes, they do.

Never miss a chance to take a better job, because it is easier to get a better job if you already have one. No body hires the unemployed unless they are desperate and just need a warm body to fill a slot.

I worked for an outfit that an employee knew his days were numbered and was even told by his managers not to leave the premises (lunch, go home) until he checked in first. This individual proceeded to burn up a copier by making all sorts of copies of material that was less than flattering to the company (in fact was meeting with a very interested regulatory figure each night).

This went on for a week and several reams of paper.

Yes, and I knew it would happen eventually. The reason was that the companies new IT manager has a .Net background and much of our front end applications used Coldfusion, which I'm versed in. Last year he made the decision to drop Coldfusion, which caused a good deal of friction between myself and the manager, to be honest. For a while there I was very passive aggressive. But for the last few months things were cordial and they had me taking online training on .Net, so I really thought I was good for the time being. Was actively looking for a new job but didn't want to take one working on Govt. contracts. Just last week a newer SQL developer put in resignation, so I'm thinking the need to fill his position with more money to attract experienced developers caused them to go ahead and cut me loose.

I did get 2 months reverence pay, which keeps me from panicking right away about making my mortgage payments.

Back in 2000, without notice, I got fired by my new supervisor. Actually he didn't bother to do it; he escorted me up to the owner's offices, and the owner's secretary did it while he sat there. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I told her, pointing at him, "Don't trust this man."

As he escorted me out, I swerved aside, ducked into the conference room where my former colleagues were gathered for a meeting, and told them, "He just fired me. Don't trust him. So long, everybody."

I got another job within a month. Not long after, I heard that the sneaky supervisor had been fired -- by his own replacement. So now and then there is indeed justice.

441 I typically avoid listening to politicians speak, but I watched this.

Trump's inversion of Clinton's "I'm with Her" is simply brilliant. How can she even go on using her catch phrase when he's ruined it so thoroughly? Branding down the tube.

My overall feeling was how weird Trump's speaking style is, and how frustrating. He'll make a point to about 7.5/10 of its potential, then use a short sentence fragment (sad!), then move on to another point, seemingly unrelated to the first.

His speechwriter should figure out how to write words that *sound* like him when Trump's reading them, rather than making him read some long sentence, then break into weird little ad libs, and back and forth.

And for heaven's sake, punch and keep punching until you've made your point. Don't suddenly change direction until you've used your telling quote or killer one-liner in the right place, not dropped in somewhere else.

We're big boys and girls. We can listen to an argument carried out fully, staying on one topic at a time rather than bouncing all over the place. State your claim, use evidence rather than just accusations or assertions, provide necessary backing, show us why the evidence makes the point, then remind us of what your claim is and how well your evidence made the point. Otherwise, the speech just sounds like a jazz freestyle of a rant rather than a well-reasoned argument.

I would love it as part of taking over the RNC he both overturns the ridiculous 'RNc/DNC settlement agreement' and put poll watchers in every, but especially the most corrupt, districts. Trump can win PA, but only if West Philadelphia doesn't go 184% for the D's. Ohio is damn near as bad, as well as other swing states. 449 Trump: "Big businesses leave our country, fire our workers, and sell their products back into the U.S....We switched from a policy of Americanism to a policy of Globalism, focusing on how to make money for large corporations who can move their wealth and workers to foreign countries."

Tomayto, Tomahto. What you call globalism is what we call "conservatism."

451 This speech will silence a lot of Trump critics on the right. He will tear Hillary to shreds in the coming weeks. I am loving it!

452 "No, I don't give a rat's ass about signaling virtue to anyone--especially when Trump supporters are a clear majority of the commenters on this site. Signalling to whom, exactly? "

********
Bingo.
Not just lying, sleazy, corrupt, crooked, incompetent, drunk harridan Hillary attacks either.Positive. Hammer over and over and over the positive--whatcha going to do. Trump has a cornucopia of things: "You, factory workers. They'll be back. Less regs, less environmental bullshit, punish outsourcing, fair tariffs on those that tariff us etc. You Soccer Moms- security at home, school choice, reduce administrative levels. You small business owners and employees etc. etc.'
Pick the target and tell them what you will DO. Be positive unless, of course, that shrill crone and candidate for the 'rats comes up then denounce her crimes and make a citizen's arrest.
