The Left's Inexorable, Inflexible desire to Enslave. [krakatoa]

**BUMPED BY Y-NOT**

Aside from rote lip-service, the Left, and the quislings on the Right, are not interested in your health, your lives, or your liberty. Their only truly animating interest is in their own elevated positions and ego.

Nothing strokes one's ego more than forcing someone else to do something they don't wish to do, except maybe forcing someone to do something they don't want to do and then get endless flattering press for it.

As always in our country and throughout the history of civilizations, the ratchet driven by activists grinds almost unfailingly in the direction of empowering the State to dominate its people.

Curtailing first non-enumerated rights such as the ability to simply speak plainly via the creation of cultural stigma for holding opinions or manners of speech that only yesterday were commonplace and common-sense; and then turning that stigma into mob retaliation vis-a-vis getting people fired from their jobs, or outright violence in the streets aimed at people attending political rallies.

Once certain thoughts and often seemingly insignificant liberties have been essentially criminalized, they move on to attacking those concrete rights that were once presumed unassailable, but have entered the realm of "polite debate" by a compliant populace too interested in maintaining some level of nonconfrontational comfort to strenuously object to every inch requested by the so-called "moderates". Inches that in the rear-view mirror turn out to be miles and miles of forgotten or forsaken liberties.

Make no mistake: The never-ending litany for "compromise" requested on gun control does not come close to masking the goal of gun prohibition. They want you disarmed, and cultural inertia has made them less and less reticent to proclaim it.

Assuredly, every step away from our Founder's intentions is framed by its proponents in terms of saving lives, or ensuring some liberty for some defined cohort. Their duplicitous nature is revealed when those exact arguments are dismissed when offered in service of a liberty or cohort the Left isn't championing, such as the rights of the unborn, the health concerns of a populace whose borders are overrun with the non-vaccinated and/or no small number of violent criminals, the freedom of a landowner to manage one's property, et cetera.

And so it goes: Yet another mass murder that could have been prevented simply by maintaining the the laws on the books and the remedies at hand, all ignored or torn down like Chesterton's theoretical fence without truly comprehending the consequences. Or worse, with full comprehension of the consequences, but utilizing a brutal calculus that values the creation more voters for the next election more highly than the long term health and security of one's nation & citizens.

Never trust any legislation proposed in response to the acts of the madman or the thuggish practitioner of a 7th century violent religion.

I would go further: If in response to a situation like this our government should pass legislation that rolls back such an essential liberty of otherwise law-abiding citizens as the right to keep and bear arms, those reasonable people have the inherent right to refuse to comply and to resist as peaceably as possible. And if it becomes impossible to resist peacefully, any blood spilled will be on the hands of those who decided by any rationale to trade said liberty for peace in the first place.

A people whose only powers, liberties & remedies are those strictly defined by the State is not a free people at all.

Also never trust any legislation named after or, even worse, has an idiotic acronym that spells out the name of a victim of a crime.

Apparently Obama is at the memorial blaming Republicans directly.

Well.

As a queer conservative, that is a direct homophobic attack on me. I demand that the DOJ bring civil rights charges against Obama for such hate speech.

I'm. Not. Kidding.

Its kinda funny how no GOPer has ever gone to the blacks and other members of the libtard base and said

25 What government does, it fails at. Yet it always seeks to do more. The laws it makes, it fails to enforce and its response to its own failure of enforcement, it makes more laws.

When the Obama and the DOJ sought to impose restroom laws (for crying out loud) on the rest of the country, the congress should have publicly tarred and feathered him. Even though this was a minor issue, it was a sharp stick in the eye to the 10 amendment, one of a myriad.

We are well and truly screwed if this shit isn't fixed.

Please explain to me how these were "homegrown" when these are people from immigrant families, raised within the culture from their families country of origin, who also *travel to Saudi Arabia*. They are not picking up their hate at the local Memorial Day parade and football half-time show - they're getting it from the people and institutions touting non-American culture. That these two men grew up in America seems incidental - they might as well have grown up in the UK, Australia, Sweden, wherever - they were raised in a ME cultured environment.

This is the key to the fascists of the left. "Liberals" want the mob retaliation to be achieved via government. "Libertarians" (e.g., those at Reason and in the LP) want the mob retaliation to be by actual mobs, as if that makes their fascism somehow "libertarian."

96 Some time ago, there was this idea that everyone was endowed by their creator with certain, inalienable rights" including "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

It was pretty simple. Anyone could understand those rights. There was no need for any Latin or extensive education, much less emanations or penumbras.

Certainly, those broad ideas left room for interpretation in specific scenarios. Did a person's actions deny someone else life, liberty, or the ability to pursue happiness?

Well, we had a way to deal with that also. Since the root of these questions was forming a "more perfect union" or, more simply, did someone's actions justify allowing them to remain a part of society or their community, we used to present the facts to 12 random people from their community and allow them to decide.

The result wasn't fixed. Sometime those 12 people thought one way. Sometime other groups of 12, usually in different places, came to a different conclusion. It just depended on what the people who were impacted by the issue in question and their local values were.

Worked out pretty well. Then everyone decided, "Fuck this, let's have a bunch of lawyers in DC decide everything for everyone" and "while we're at it, they should make sure everything is fair, decide what is good for me, and be responsible for every aspect of my life and well being".

115 >>> "Those who defend the easy accessibility of assault weapons should meet these families."

....

1. Define "assault weapon"
2. How does this differ from a "defensive weapon"?
3. If, at the time of the shooting, the victims had access to defensive weapons, would they have refused them?
4. If the the shooter and victims were still alive and the incident was ongoing, would any members of the family want access to equal or greater weapons than the shooter possessed?
5. Why is it a bad thing for a law abiding person to own an "assault weapon" but it is acceptable for the US government to ship the same weapons to drug cartels, ISIS affiliated groups, and other groups, countries, and people who have vowed to use these weapons against Americans?
6. When we ban all weapons and all the lawful people comply, how will you address the people who don't follow the law? This is really the most important question in this situation since the failures that could have prevented this crime were illegal and suspicious actions that were known by law enforcement prior to the weapons even being purchased or involved? So, since we refuse to enforce laws now, how will additional laws improve the situation? Will you pass a law that requires criminals to follow the law?

Ahem.

The Left isn't interested in the socialist utopia that they speak of. That's just the lie that they tell to conceal their true agenda, which is destruction, slavery and death. They don't care about what comes next. Just as long as they personally get the chance to shoot a few kneeling Kulaks in the back of the neck before the revolution is over. THAT'S what motivates them.

That's also why they have such a love-fest with the mohammedans. They have the common goal of the destruction of Western Civilization. They're not adversaries, they're allies. The only difference between them is that mohammedans ARE interested in what comes next.

Well that, personal hygiene and goat fucking. And I'm not so sure about the goat fucking.

Lauren, that is a horrible story but who knows what leading and misleading questions they asked of this young mother when they removed her to question her alone.

A question about whether she was tired after giving birth, answered honestly (because who isn't exhausted after giving birth), could be taken as an indication that she is unable to look after her child because she is tired by a social worker who thinks it is wrong not to abort a child born of rape (or who thinks a mother cannot possibly love such a child and would abuse him).

People are thinking only about the people who might be found in that immediate situation. At a school, you'd be talking about having armed teachers. And there actually was some movement along those lines. But too many parents get squeamish about the idea of adults that they (the parents) barely know spending all day armed around their kids.

The Orlando attack, on the other hand, was an attack on a bunch of people in a social situation having fun. The sexual orientation of the victims can be viewed as something unique to this particular shooting, meaning that nearly anyone could have been a potential victim of an attack like this. Getting a gun suddenly became more practical.

The best method humans have invented so far is guns.

Question for you all.

I keep hearing the response from the left when you bring up that if
others were armed at the club, they stood a chance at taking down the
shooter.

They immediately come back with, there was someone armed, and it didn't work.

So what exactly happened. Did the rent a cop get shot first outside?

Posted by: Jen the original at June 16, 2016 08:20 PM (ar1r/)

I understand that the 'rent-a-cop' was an actual cop working OT as most jurisdictions allow cops to do (security at private fictions with billing through the PD), the jihadi went inside for a last look, went back out to retrieve weapons and bypassed security going back, and then lit the place up. Rent-a-cop took action and was joined by two guys on their regular shift very quickly. They realized they were outgunned and a more traditional hostage situation appeared to develop so they stood by for SWAT to take over.
Nobody in the club was armed as it is illegal.
But my understanding is probably lacking.

The way to respond is to simply observe that there are no guarantees in real life. But removing the barriers to effective self-defense by the average citizen allows them to make their own choices in regards to their own security. Empowering the individual is never wrong.

And having the option of going armed increased your chances of survival, even if it doesn't guarantee it.

Then again, I actually prefer to respond "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED, MOTHERFUCKER. DON'T YOU SPEAK AND UNDERSTAND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, COCKSUCKER?"

One thing I've started to wonder about is, where did this asshole get the money for his weapons? He apparently didn't build them up over time, but bought EVERYTHING in the weeks before the attack. So he shelled out two or three thousand bucks in less than a month for the weapons, ammo and other items. What rent-a-cop has that kind of cash available?

184 The House has narrowly defeated an attempt to bar immigrants living in the country illegally from enlisting in the U.S. military. Opponents tied the measure to Donald Trumps presidential campaign.

Rep. Paul Gosars amendment has failed Thursday by a vote of 211-210. The Arizona Republican says he wants to close what he calls President Barack Obamas backdoor amnesty program.

Rep. Ruben Gallego opposed Gosars amendment. The Arizona Democrat says Congress shouldnt let anti immigrant posturing block the militarys recruiting goals. The immigrants can enlist if they have special language or medical skills.

266 Here's a fun experiment that illustrates the thread's premise: ask a liberal what an ideal America (or world) would look like. They'll probably give you the standard peace, health, no hunger, etc., but then prompt them, if they don't volunteer it, for their thoughts on guns. Most will say they don't exist, or aren't allowed, or no one needs them anymore.

And that's the issue. Liberals have a specific vision in mind, and they are driven to impose it on everyone else. A conservative or libertarian will list the same answers regarding peace and health, but when prompted on specifics, most will say "sure, people can have guns if they want as long as they don't hurt other people. What do I care?". Libs can't allow that...everyone will eventually conform to the standard.

I have actually heard that technique defended.

The idea being that if you are concealed-carrying a semiauto with only one magazine, when that magazine is exhausted, it can then be dropped smoothly into the supporting hand instead of possibly falling to the ground. Speeding reload.

I thought to myself, "Who carries concealed with a pocket full of loose rounds for reload?" But that seems to be the conops here.

Posted by: torquewrench at June 16, 2016 09:56 PM (noWW6)

*Sigh*

Not you, torquewrench, I know that you know better. Sighing at the folks that totally miss the point that the support hand does double duty, helping to support the weight of the pistol (because let's face it, holding 2 1/2 pounds of steel and lead at arms length is not a natural act), but also it helps to control the recoil by isometric pressure between the support and gun hands. Which is impossible to do with the support hand playing cup and saucer.

409 My daughter is a racist.

She's a waitress/hostess at a nationally known restaurant chain. They have the joint divide geographically such that waitress A had this area and waitress B has that area. They have software at the hostess station such that customers are divided equally between the waitresses.

So the other night a black couple came in, a fairly unusual event since we live in flyover crackerland, about 99.5% cracker. (And, in fact, this couple was just passing through from LA to Chiraq.) A little time goes by and the waitresses have batted around the order and this section is up to bat again. A mixed race couple come in and are seated near the first couple. The woman of the first couple freaks and starts yelling at my daughter about being seated in black area. My daughter had to take her back and show her the fancy software to get her to shut up.

It's a stupid time to be alive.

The conventional wisdom seems to be that the snubnose revolver really is an expert's CCW gun. Unfortunately, in the past a lot of ill-informed gun shop clerks recommended snubs as good "first-timer's" guns. They're not easy to use effectively at anything more than "press it into the goblin's belly" distance unless you put in a LOT of practice.

463 If you want to get good with a snubbie, practice double action at 25 yards until you can stay in at least the 9 ring.

You can do it, it just takes practice.

Makes those adrenaline fueled cylinder dumps at three yards, just that much more of a sure thing.

Hell, I used to fire a full course of TCLOSE qualifications with a snubbie, just to show it could be done.

Go into it with the attitude that it CAN be done, and you WILL do it, and given enough dedication and practice, you indeed, will.

Besides. It's fun to shoot X ring groups at 7 yards with a snubbie, when the rest of the range can't even stay in the 8 ring, much less produce a "group" vs. a "pattern".

CA went to a ridiculous "safety standard" ['cause...they hate guns, period] where a manufacturer has to submit a bunch of 'em to be dropped on concrete, loaded, from 12 feet without a stray shot in order to be put on an "approved" list. A whole lot of manufacturers replied, "fuck you" -- and are, thus, illegal in California.

45 Auto ball is a pretty damned effective mankiller, as long as it's at least the old Army standard of a bit more than 800fps.

Stuff is schweet! Right near 1,000 fps, with an expanding .45 as the starting diameter.

Flat trajectory out to fifty yards, too. Shoots point of aim pretty much from 7 to 50 yards.

Bonus. Lighter recoil, quicker recovery, shorter split times.

I'm hoping to get to use one on a hog hunt, just so I can see it's terminal performance in actual bone and tissue. But so far, it's proving to be a favorite for me in that caliber.

Which is fine if there's some interesting pieces, but the last show I went to, I kept thinking "hmmmph, generic grandpa guns". But it's about a mile drive from my place, so it's a wash.

Best bet for a wide range of shooty goodness is the larger shows in Ft Worth, Lewisville or Mesquite etc.
