16 Obama's comments re: we must do more to care for veterans - he's just trolling, right?

He says so dang many things that are the opposite of his actions I've just come to believe this his way of writing his legacy. They'll be a record of all this wonderful sounding comments, about all he things he supports, while years from now things like the egregious activities of the VA under Obama gets covered up, disappeared.

My persecutor, who must be related to BK, turned around and sued me in federal court under the RICO act. He was demanding triple damages...three million dollars.

That one was tossed also, due res judicata and collateral estoppel. Butt it cost me $20,000 to make it go away.

Whatever one thinks of Trump, Kristol is so far out of touch with reality, vis a vis, actively rooting for the election of Hilary Clinton, that it beggars the imagination.

Then again, his reality is to be part of the elite, even if just a member of the Washington Generals to the Democrat Globetrottoers.

45 I saw the footage of the gorilla incident. I was struck by the lack of imagination on the part of the Dangerous Animal Response Team (get this: D.A.R.T.--and yet, no dart!). Obviously, from the Fay Wray screams, someone there had seen King Kong. So, where were the gas bombs, the metal nets, the tiny aeroplanes?

Finally a situation where a fleet of tiny drones would have done some good. And yet, and yet...

Merion C. Cooper would be ashamed of us. He'd have settled this down in no time. Plus, "It wasn't the aeroplanes..."

No, I'm not arguing for criminal charges. But, charges, yes. Simply compute the dollarized value of one threatened silverback, and hand the folks a bill. See what Flo from Progressive, Liberty Brad, and Professor Insurance say about that.

60 The Cackling Council

Hillary sits at the large futuristic table and addresses her campaign advisors.
"Sanders is getting too close in California, he must be stopped and you shall do it."
"Why are you wearing Mandarin robes? You auditioning for the role of Ming the Merciless?" one asks.
"These were given by a Chinese friend," she says as she stroked her Fu Manchu mustache. "We were talking about stopping Flash - I mean Sanders. You Stuffy," she points. "I want those ballot boxes full."
"On it chief."
"Rumone, spread rumors about Bernie, he once dated a banker, gave money to the USO - anything disgusting."
"It shall be done," the suave reporter states.
"And you, Insidious, dig into his past - for the love of money Sanders has to have slipped up in something somewhere."
"I will, your canklenesssssss," the aide hisses, "but he is ssssssso obssssscure there issssss little on record."
"There will be something my pet, now start slithering ."
The council chamber shakes, dust falling from the ceiling.
"What is it?" Hillary yells.
"We're under attack!" Huma replies.
"Flash Gordon?"
"No - Bernie - and he's brought a passle of monstrosities!"
"What sort?"
"TrigglyPuffs!" Huma wails.

It really is a sham opposition party. They have exactly the same aims as the Democrats, except the latter's main goal is more or less ideological while the GOP just wants to make a buck off of it.

I've resisted it for a long time but if there was a way to somehow effectively start a for real opposition party, now is the time to do it. The problem is that the GOP's base are multi billionaires like the Kochs, Langone, Adelson, Murdoch etc.

We might have the numbers, but they will always have the bucks.

Seems like there are some liability issues in that zoo gorilla shooting.

For one, the zoo failed to prevent access to the enclosure.

And for two, the parent failed to keep control of her child.

No.. it is actually unbelievably easy..
There is a short metal fence consisting of 3 horizontal poles.
A good sized kid could easily hop over. The baby simply crawled under the bottom poll, which looked to be about 1 foot off the ground.

It's not fair to deny entry because of disease anymore. Seriously, I'll bet none of these refugees are even screened for medical issues. The American gov't could simply care less how it will impact its citizens. The same can be said for whether these refugees can even take care of themselves financially and contribute to the country. My, how times have changed.

85 I watched the first hour of "Roots" last night...

Fuck. This is the supposedly "more accurate" version.

It starts off by saying that Kunta Kinte was born (announced via a cellular drum service) in a wealthy, sophisticated city in west Africa, pretty much resembling Manhattan, only tan in color.

Apparently in 1740, west Africans had the technology to cast 40 foot tall cement pillars to support a 1960's style post modern structure to hold their public meetings in.

Kunta's mother wears gold jewelry out of a Tiffany's catalog instead of the more traditional bone-through-the-nose. As with most of the nuclear-families in Africa at that time, Kunta rebels against following along in the family business because he longs to attend University.

Everyone is praying to Allah and women have the right to choose who they will marry.

All pretty fucking accurate up till now.

Unfortunately, under pressure from the white English slaver traders, rival tribes are taking prisoners and selling them off. Kunta finds himself on a boat crewed by sailors who find it impossible to pass by a slave without hitting them.

It doesn't matter if the slave is moving along as they should or getting out of the way, apparently the crew was paid per swat.

When I decided I had had enough, Kunta was just getting his junk checked by an English buyer in the Colonies.

This remake should be viewed as an insult to the intelligence of an entire country.

89 Good Morning Horde!

Post Memorial Day polling update.

We still haven't seen new polls from several of usual suspects. However there is a fairly significant change.

Rasmussen released a new poll that shows Clinton at 40 and Trump at 39. This is a 6 point swing in this poll in one week (from Trump leading 42-37).

Somehow I doubt Drudge will be posting this one in 120 point type.

Since this is the only change, the RCP average moves back into a slight 1 point advantage for Clinton at 43.8% to 42.8%.

Now as to WHY this poll changed, it could be that the first one was an outlier. Also the polling cycle for this poll was 5/23-5/24, this was just before the IG dropped their report on the email, but I believe that Trump was on the attack during this period about Bill being a rapist. If that had any effect, it would indicate that attacking Hillary on the topic of Bill is not the slam dunk winner that many think.

Any new polls that drop will include the IG report in the thinking of those polled.

Oh, and every Trump fan who gleefully posted about that last Rasmussen poll does not get to claim polls don't matter this early any longer.

Well, at least they adhere to basic business principles in the movie...

After going to all the trouble of capturing Kunta's uncle and transporting him to the departure point in Africa, he breaks free and runs about 30 feet.

At that point, one of the black arab traders takes out his gun and shoots him, hitting him in the arm.

Pretty much what any businessman would do. Go to the expense of capturing and getting him there and then, instead of easily running him down, shoot your profit center.

I'm starting to think the slave trader was just as racist as our police today, who shoot blacks just for fun.

I used to have it through my insurance at work with me paying about $10 per month into it for both myself and wife until I went on medicare. Neither Medicare, nor my supplement now cover it. But the work coverage didn't cover much anyway if you had to have expensive work done.

When my wife had those huge radiation doses done for her throat cancer she had to have a lot of teeth in her lower jaw surgically pulled prior to the exposure. The dental insurance only covered a small portion of it and medical insurance refused to cover it because they said it was dental.

From what I recall (which isn't that much), it depicted most of the whites as mean and petty and dishonest, and most of the blacks as smart and decent and enduring the unending cruelty of the whites with quiet nobility (peppered with occasional outbursts of completely justified anger). IOW, complete claptrap. Why is it that leftists are so incapable of grasping the complexity of human behavior? It's always good vs. evil, and of course they are always on the side of the angels, and anyone who dares to disagree with their simplistic view is naturally an agent of Satan and must be silenced by any means necessary.

If true (doubt it) then who is going to watch it?
US slavery was all over the map human wise. Do the producers think that all the stops on the underground railroad were at houses and farms owned by freed slaves? My understanding is that freed slaves were required to leave the south.

Paid political agitation propaganda. Only way they can think of to drag a dead horse (Hillary) over the finish line. Waste of money. Bills burn-down-black-churches and school-uniforms were better and cheaper.

When my wife had those huge radiation doses done for her throat cancer she had to have a lot of teeth in her lower jaw surgically pulled prior to the exposure. The dental insurance only covered a small portion of it and medical insurance refused to cover it because they said it was dental.

Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at May 31, 2016 08:43 AM (vvmPQ)

Yeah it's weird. Our medical only covers dental work due to accident. You'd think it'd cover dental work related to medical procedures, but no. And as you get into the surgical stuff, our dental coverage devolves to more or less nothing.

There was a contemporary remake done in the 90's with Heath Ledger and Julia Styles. It also had a grrrl pwr! vibe to it.

Soon Iago will be re-written as a neo-confederate skinhead, Romeo will be a LaRaza activist, Macbeth & Lady Macbeth will be an alternative trans-couple struggling against the patriarchy to put their adopted Syrian refugee trans daughter on xer throne.

156 Re: the Cincinnati zoo an amusing anecdote unrelated to the gorilla incident.

In my early 20s I took a backpacking trip in the Flattops Wilderness of Colorado with my dad (an Army vet and Scoutmaster), his good friend (an outfitter and mule driver) and his friend Charlie (a city slicker from Cincinnati).

One evening we set up camp and I was preparing supper for the group. The outfitter spotted a couple of elk on a far hillside and set out up a steep ridgeline to see if he could locate and view the entire herd (perhaps 500 yards to the top of the ridge). My dad saw him going and set out after him. Charlie decided to tag along and also set out up the hill.

Charlie got about 30-40 yards up the hill and then stopped and came back to camp. He turned to me and said, "You know, I got part way up that hill and it occurred to me, we have elk in the Cincinnati zoo and if I want to see an elk I can just go there!"

199 The European Union reached an agreement Tuesday with some of the world"s biggest social media firms, including Facebook and Twitter, on ways to combat the spread of hate speech online.

Under the terms of a code of conduct, the firms, which also include YouTube and Microsoft, have committed to "quickly and efficiently" tackle illegal hate speech directed against anyone over issues of race, color, religion, descent or national or ethnic origin. The sites have often been used by terrorist organizations to relay messages and entice hatred against certain individuals or groups.

Among the measures agreed with the EU"s executive arm, the firms have said they will establish internal procedures and staff training to guarantee that a majority of illegal content is assessed and, where necessary, removed within 24 hours. They have also agreed to strengthen their partnerships with civil society organizations who often flag content that promotes incitement to violence and hateful conduct. The European Commission and the firms have also agreed to support civil society organizations to deliver "anti-hate campaigns."

The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations

organized crime. RICO allows prosecution and punishment for alleged
racketeering activity that has been executed as part of an ongoing

Activity considered to be racketeering may
include bribery, counterfeiting, money laundering, embezzlement, illegal
gambling, kidnapping, murder, drug trafficking, slavery, and a host of
other nefarious business practices.

James Comey and The FBI will
present a recommendation to Loretta Lynch, Attorney General of the
Department of Justice, that includes a cogent argument that the Clinton

and soliciting bribes in exchange for political, policy and legislative
favors to individuals, corporations and even governments both foreign

226 Princeton protesters want faculty with learning disabilities

Barr, a former PhD candidate at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, told The Huffington Post that the school had approved accommodations for her dyslexia and attention deficit disorder when it accepted her on a full scholarship, but failed to fully honor the pledge after her text-to-speech software malfunctioned on an exam in 2014. Administrators allowed her to retake the test, but allegedly denied her request for an oral exam and neglected to inform the proctor that Barr was entitled to extra time.

As a result, Barr says she received a B- on the comprehensive exam, rather than the B+ that Princeton's academic standards required in order for her to continue with the program. In September, the university denied her appeal of the grade, and terminated her enrollment several days later.

Barr then took her complaints to the U.S. Department of Education, which confirmed to HuffPost that there is an ongoing investigation into alleged Title VI violations involving failure to provide academic adjustments for people with disabilities.

Prior to that exam, Barr also claims that certain professors and administrators had periodically made dismissive comments about her learning disability, telling her in one instance that "disability is not part of the zeitgeist of Princeton," and on another occasion instructing her to "put aside the idea that you think differently."

Princeton, however, disputes both elements of Barr's complaints, though it is declining to discuss specific details of her case due to privacy laws.

imagination on the part of the Dangerous Animal Response Team (get this:

So maybe enraging a gorilla hanging on to a kid's leg wasn't a good plan, as the people who were there actually knew.
