10 That elevated bus reminds of the stuff they used to come up with in Popular Science.

Especially in the early part of the 20th century (no I'm not as old as Vic but my Dad bought them and kept hundreds of them and when younger I used to read the old ones. they were a hoot)

Some engineer daydreaming instead of doing their job comes up with some off the wall thing and says "Oh what a good idea" and submits it to the editors of PE and boom it's on the cover with all the good things this nifty new idea or invention will bring to the world.

Trouble is the practicalities. That darn reality sets in. You know, human nature, physics and economics that when applied to the idea and everyone realizes what a BAD IDEA it really is.

Then you never see it on the cover for awhile until a new set of readers has grown up and voila' there it is on the cover again.

Blimps with airplanes taking off and landing, Cities on the oceans, miles high buildings, FLYING CARS!!!!!!! (DAMMIT), and all sorts of nonsense.

We are an ingenious species. Too bad most of our ideas suck.

The elevated bus is just a glorified train with undoubtedly difficult and expensive repair procedures. Get lost...

14 Elevated bus will work because everyone stays in their lanes.

That is some industrial quality sarcasm there! You sir, have earned my respect.

16 That elevated "bus" is on a track. That makes it a fucking train. Which means when there's an accident on the road you also have the train blocked from travelling. And depending on its momentum/braking distance it could end up plowing into stopped cars.

This is a joke.

17 "The elevated bus is just a glorified train with undoubtedly difficult and expensive repair procedures. Get lost...'

Yes but in much of Asia it's still cheaper than alternatives. For example after protracted struggle, always with one or 2 stubborn holdouts "over their dead body", they have mostly given up on slum clearance and are building roads and rail on top of each other, like the new Madras Airport feeder, road on top of rail double decker. In Bombay they build roads out into the sea to avoid land struggles. Recently in Calcutta (all my city names are the old ones locals still use) an overhead highway collapsed.

This bus is easy and cheap by comparison.

18 The elevated bus is probably the stupidest idea I've seen coming out of the lab of central planning idiots.

I mean, outside of a government taxing/fining/penalizing the young & healthy for not buying a product or service from a private corporation.
