Obligatory If-Hillary-Is-Indicted-Yadda-Yadda-Yadda Post

Whatever. This isn't going to happen. We don't live in a republic; we live in an oligarchy controlled by powerful political groups, and Hillary controls one faction.

Forget superdelegates; we live in a country with supercitizens, and supercitizenship.

But whatever, I don't really feel like posting so here's an easy link.

I guess if it's possible for Trump to be the nominee, it's possible for Hillary Clinton not to be.

But I seriously doubt it.

I disagree with some of the things Milo says and does and agree with others. Same is true of Ben Shapiro and ace, for that matter.

During the past dozen years, so many people I once thought were admirable conservatives have fallen from grace - not just Ryan and Rubio but many of the pundits, from Kristol and Noonan to O'Rourke and Kevin Williamson. And that's just scratching the surface.

Now there are people out there doing the hard work of actually facing the SJWs and fighting them - not just by making fun of trolls by typing words on a computer, but by standing there as flesh and blood crybullies get right into their faces and scream hatred and threats. They are looking straight into the eyes of these vicious people and saying "F you."

Are you doing that? I'm not. I'm going to cut anybody who is a big amount of slack. I'm not ready to excommunicate anybody who is out there fighting for free speech because he says stuff I don't like. 'Cause, you know, that's free speech.

63 I've long thought Hillary wouldn't be the D nominee. We're now entering the End Game and I believe this even more than I did before.

What the IG report doesn't say is that the way that Hillary broke State Department rules means that she must have also violated a lot of criminal laws.

With the IG report now public, and with developments possible in the FOIA litigation like Cheryl pleading the Fifth, how can Comey and the FBI not make a criminal referral? If they do, it'll likely leak.

She's already starting to lose some MSM, those who want to pretend they're real journalists. She's lost Mika. She's losing Andrea. Chuck Todd now says that the IG Report alone would disqualify her from being AG.

The timing of the IG Report and the Judicial Watch depositions set up the leak of an FBI criminal referral. You might even say it was planned.

Hillary's already sinking in the polls. She may even lose the California primary.

It's over for her. Even without an indictment, which we won't see for months, if ever.

72 I think Sanders has been doing to well in the primary for them to substitute anyone else for Hillary at the convention. If they take out Hillary before or at the convention, they will be stuck with Sanders. After the convention though, then they can put in whoever they want should Hillary suddenly become "unavailable".

It would be a desperate act though. Presumably it would be done in an attempt to stop Trump, and it is tough to see how that would work.

Personally, I think the Dems best shot at defeating Trump comes with making Sanders the nominee. If he can win CA, plus with help from Obama's DOJ, they could give Bernie the nod at the convention without too badly pissing off the rank and file and also without looking to stinky to the middle of the road moderates they will need in the general.

I still don't think they will defeat Trump, but it looks like their best shot.

The only things we know regarding Guccifer is that he entered a guilty plea. There is no official pronouncement regarding immunity.

Nor can I find one for 'Pagliacci'.

Also, since he entered the guilty plea the DOJ didn't have to prove their case that he broke into her server. All we've seen as evidence is a set of email. We don't have access to any logs or actual data that shows they are actually from her server.

137 1 - Barky/Axlerod didn't have a ready protege to plug into this election (Deval Patrick was a bust)
2 - a campaign in such a poor economy isn't a place to use your best protege, best wait until 2020
3 - Biden/Warren is a good place holder for this year, if they win great, they'll be too old to go for re-election in 2020
4 - While not physically unfit, at his age Biden would have been drained by a primary campaign
5 - If Hillary is the nominee, the Clinton gang takes back the reigns of the DNC instead of it remaining under Barky's control
6 - If Hillary wins, she pushes out the Obama people from all the key positions of power.
7 - Even worse for them, If Hillary wins and her health is as poor as we suspect, her VP becomes President in the next 4 years and then becomes the top of the ticket in 2020, aborting the candidacy of the Barky protege

Barky has been letting Benghazi/Emailgate slow play so he can remove any connections to him, and has timed it so he gets to play his hand at a time to hand the nomination to Biden, and thus keep power over the Democrat party and a shadow administration buried in the federal bureaucracy

I invite all the hoard to pause on Memorial Day at 1800 hours (that's 6:00PM for the Marines out there) an lift a quiet toast "To Absent Comrades." I have been doing this now for 20 years as a reminder to those who gave all. Now, among my network of friends, colleagues and allies, it is a global thing.
May all of you have a great weekend.

To Absent Comrades.

Yeah, but I hate to interrupt. Still ...
Had to get four new tires for the Crown Vic P-71 today. Close to $500, given we wanted decent ones for these crappy Texas County Roads.

The garage's courtesy safety inspection said our rear brakes were shot, including scored and rusted rotors. Entirely possible, since we had to haul the lawnmower out of a saturated back yard last year, and the car went hub-deep, so after a bit of discussion, Mr. Empire and I agreed to it.

Before we moved to Texas, such jobs are ones we had the place and tools to do for ourselves. We lost both in the move, so now we have to pay to have it done. The only thing in our favor is that not having to pay for heating oil has let me save up enough to have both done.

But we'd still rather do it ourselves, just to be sure it was done right. However, given our ages and the other circumstances ... GRUMP!

196 /rolls around in AtC's scenario

Cavil's pet "It Won't Happen But It Would Be Cool" scenario is as follows.

The DNC convention approaches. With HRS losing to Trump by an amount outside the margin of error, the Chicago Crew pulls the pin on HRC and prepares to parachute Joey Pluggs.

And then Biden has a catastrophic health event.

REMEMBER: Biden has already had one. That tends to increase the chances of another greatly.

Suddenly, Hellary's auguring in and there's no cavalry coming over the horizon. Withdrawing prosecution at this stage will make the entire thing so blatantly obvious even the dimmest LIVs will twig that, y'know guys, Something Is Not Right Here.

And the truth is that the majority of the party would be tickled pink to have an actual Communist *who's polling very well against the GOP candidate* as their nominee. A few rich centrist Wall Street types might grumble a bit, but even they won't mind that much. They've made their pile. A Sanders presidency would still give them the cultural victories they want, even if he cuts into their lavish incomes a bit... which he probably won't. Rich, connected people tend to do fine under leftist authoritarian regimes.

No.

Look, plenty of agents might be hopping mad. They might be willing to leak stuff to the press. But at the end of the day they have good jobs, and they've got private school tuition for and mortgage payments $800,000 house in Loudon County to pay for.

And they're not being asked to do anything immoral or illegal. They did their jobs. They investigated. They recommended indictment. If their boss, or their boss's boss, or their boss's boss's boss spikes the indictment, well, that sucks dog balls. But what is resigning going to do? Leave them unemployed, and possibly on the receiving end of whatever a Hillary IRS can throw at them when they find gainful employment.

313 OK, after exactly 3 years and 10 months of procrastinating, I am FINALLY going to start the immense project of updating the Mohammed Image Archive. Again.

The longer I have been procrastinating, the more updates pile up, the more emails and submissions and death threats pour in, and more daunting the task becomes. But I have as of today officially run out of excuses and have finally convinced myself to take the plunge.

The whole process is likely to take weeks, because I have to, in addition to updating the Archive with hundreds upon hundreds of new images and corrections, also must restructure the "categories" of images, because so much new stuff has happened since I started the Archive in 2006 that new chapters are required (and some old chapters need deleting).

Also -- and this is the hardest part -- I am going to implement a system whereby individual images can be linked to. Difficult (for me) coding.

Added all up, the task pile is immense. But I vow to complete it! The world requires it of me.

This comment is my last act of procrastination!

Wish me luck.

331 I inventoried ammo last week. In total for the all rifle and all handguns.......roughly 13,700. I swagged the ammo boxes of 9mm loose.

That doesn not include 2 five gallon buckets of spent brass, 40 lbs of smokeless and another 10k in primers.

I also have a lifetime supply of lead and tin in the garage.

I blame our constitution for these pestiferous celebrities befouling our culture.

Seriously. It specifically forbids handing out titles of nobility.

But...

I'm coming to understand that "royalty" or "nobility" as a class is an inescapable concept. Therefore, we're going to get a "royal" class anyway, whether we want one or not.

So in lieu of an actual misbegotten, inbred "royal" class, we get a bunch of misbegotten, inbred celebrities and their hangers-on and wannabes cluttering up the place. There's just no escape.

I agree. I think Obama deserves much more blame than Hillary for Benghazi.
Hillary didn't send the security that Ambassador Stevens asked for, and that is on her.
But, once the attack started, and the embassy is actually on fire, then it's not a diplomatic matter anymore, it's a military matter, and Obama's refusal to act, and instead jet off to Las Vegas to party with Beyonce - that is on him.

It worked.

We had a real old timey seltzer service when I lived in NYC. (Late Cretaceous).

They'd bring two dozen bottles in a wood crate. There was a nozzle that you'd put on the active bottle. When you were done they'd pick up the crate and leave a new one.

It looked like probably the crates and bottles had been in use since the 1930s.

519 Yep. A raging hot cast iron skillet. Then, on the rack it goes for 2-3 min a side.

Perfect steaks. Every time.

And no charcoal or ashes to deal with.

That's how I cook steaks in the winter, except that I put the cast iron under the broiler for 15 minutes or so. Then slap a salt and peppered steak in it for 2 1/2 minutes each side. Butter or pesto on it when it comes out.

521 I've been buying my steaks at Costco lately. Did some of the prime sirloin last weekend and it was so good I grabbed another pack today. Plus a boneless leg of lamb. Gonna do up some kabobs. They had these incredible looking rib eyes about 2" thick with a frenched bone about 8" long (also prime) and these rib eye cap rolls that I'm kicking myself for not buying now.

Love the saddle packs of party wings too.

547 Enough of this politics stuff. I want to talk about guns, specifically about making a recoilless shotgun out of a piece of steel pipe.

The traditional US recoilless rifles designed in the 1940s and 1950s like the 57mm, 75m (the one used by the Forest Service to start controlled avalanches) and the 106mm (which is not really a recoilless rifle because it shoots a fin stabilized projectile from a smooth bore) rely on countering the recoil of the projectile shooting out the front of the tube by burning a lot more powder than would be required to shoot an equivalent projectile at an equivalent velocity from a closed breech gun that recoils and venting the exhaust from burning all that powder out the back. This works but it burns a lot of powder for each shot.

The Carl Gustaf improves on this somewhat by using a rocket nozzle on the back to get more thrust to counter the recoil from the burning powder, thus requiring less powder for each shot to achieve the same result.

While the rocket nozzle is nice, it does require some metal working capabilities and either some calculations or a lot of trial and error to figure the correct size for the aperture. The optimum size is where the gas passing through is going at the speed of sound.

I think that it ought to be both possible and legal to make a recoilless shotgun from nothing but a length of steel pipe. The key to making it recoilless is to balance the mass of lead pellets shooting out the front with an equal weight of water shooting out the rear. The concept is something like the WW I era Davis gun used to shoot at submarines from airplanes.

I think that the minimum legal overall length for a shotgun is 26 inches. The barrel has to be a minimum of 18 inches to avoid being classified as a sawed off shotgun but the whole thing is a barrel so 26 inches is the shortest you could go without incurring the ire of BATFE. If you have a balance scale, put the shot and any wads you are going to use on one pan and on the other pan, put a balloon or condom and fill it with water until the two sides weigh the same amount. I think that electric ignition would probably be the easiest way to go with this. Use an Estes rocket igniter and enough wire. Load the lead shot, the powder and igniter and the water filled balloon into the pipe and then fire it by connecting the wires to a battery or capacitor.

As always the normal gun safety rules apply but with this you also have to be careful about what is behind you.

Anyway, enjoy a round of skeet or sporting clays without beating up your shoulder.

Like the sailors and soldiers in Hawaii December 7, 1941?

Or like when Sherman burned Atlanta?

War is hell. What would you fight for? When would you conscript others to fight for it? When would you second guess people you don't know and understand? What do you know of emperor worship? What do you know about Japanese Industrial practices in WW2?
