22 A wolf usually won't attack you directly. They will try to circle around behind you. Or if there are two, the one in front of you will hold your attention while the other attacks from the rear, so always look behind you.

Of course if you turn to look behind you, the one you just took your eyes off of, will then attack from your blind side.

If there are more than two, don't let them surround you. Maneuver to break out of the envelopment so you can keep the pack in front of you as you attempt to back away. Don't turn and run, that is what they want you to do.

36 Willowed:

Re the Ken Starr thing, I have some insider info. They may be saying they're pulling the ripcord on him over the rape thing, but my impression is that it's been a long time coming.

Mr Y-not looked at an executive position there that was being handled by a search firm. The advertisement for the job (one of those 6 page prospectus types) was a little odd. It appeared, reading btwn the lines, that Starr had very particular work habits. In discussions with the firm it came out that Starr is a very difficult boss. Very capricious in his decision-making and work habits. Difficult for everyone to work with b/c his communications and work schedule were unpredictable. The type of guy who would be hard to reach, then call you in the middle of the night, irrespective of the urgency of the matter. He also had a rep for not taking counsel from his cabinet. Just a very willful, difficult man.

In any event, 6 yrs is a pretty standard term for a university president. Probably time for them to move on and find a new leader. I think they're in the middle of a fundraising campaign so they need stability at the top.

And, yes, as someone mentioned upthread, the University is currently not confirming reports he's been fired. It does sound like the Regents are discussing it, however.

51 So I note that in the Austin, TX school district, the school named after Robert E. Lee has been renamed by the trustees, as part of the ongoing post-Dylann Roof purge.

It'll still be the Lee school, but instead will honor a comparatively obscure Depression era photographer with the same surname.

I personally think that what should be done is to raze the school to the ground, erase any trace of its former existence, revoke the diplomas of all former graduates, then systematically hunt down all those graduates, and their families, and put them in destructive-labor camps.

Vigilance against the scourge of the racist Confederacy, which as we all know could re-emerge as a viable threat _at any moment_, demands no lesser measures.

107 I saw a wolf walk through the yard one afternoon.

Well, I thought it was a wolf; I didn't have my glasses on. Might have been a coyote, or maybe the neighbor's german shepherd, but I'm not sure any of the neighbors have a german shepherd.

So I'm going with Wolf because it looked bigger than a coyote.
Posted by: Glorious Ungent at May 25, 2016 10:25 AM (kBd14)

There's actually a new species in the wild called coydogs. They are a mix of coyotes and dogs. Nutty people are also breeding them and selling them. They are bigger than coyotes and have less fear of man. Like wolf/dog hybrids they are a problem because they are not a stable domesticated animal with hundreds of years of interaction with mankind.

I propose we move them to a monument park in the midwest, far from any large city. Post snipers 24/7 to "discourage" vandalism. We know they'll only be shooting the Communist vandals after hours- so it will be covered by The Law of Good Fun and Fair Combat Practices. Have a bonfire party every weekend to burn the corpses. Yes, and it will work for some LIVs.
However, there has been a steady escalation of violence during Obama's presidency - knock-out game, race mobs, Ferguson/BLM riots and protests, now the immigration-themed anti-Trump riots.

It takes a *lot* of energy to not see the pattern - that this is anti-American, anti-white, anti-normal, everyday people just trying to live their lives.

On my lunch/tea break last night - about 3 it would have been - I saw what looked at first like your regular, normal domestic cat, happily engaged in stalking and pouncing on various little critters in the grass by the oak grove.

Whatever it caught satisfied it, because this thing came trotting away, happy as could be, and it wasnt til it got about 20 feet from me I realized this thing was a freakin' bobcat.....

In the city, mind you. I grew up in the hills and hollows of Appalachia, and you could hear them sometimes when they'd sort of yell/yodel at each other when the females went into heat, but I'd never seen one up close.

magnificent animals....and I hear people tame them and make pets of them.....not that I would, but a muscular, twenty-pound housecat as beautiful as that - I can see the appeal.

My son around that same age was asking me about Bin Laden's assassination, and we had to discuss when/why it might be OK to be happy (not exactly the right word) someone was killed. >>While the report concludes that the agency suffers from "longstanding, systemic weaknesses" with records that "go well beyond the tenure of any one Secretary of State," it specifically dings Clinton for her exclusive use of private email. Therefore, Secretary Clinton should have preserved any Federal records she created and received on her personal account by printing and filing those records with the related files in the Office of the Secretary," the report states. "At a minimum, Secretary Clinton should have surrendered all emails dealing with Department business before leaving government service and, because she did not do so, she did not comply with the Department's policies that were implemented in accordance with the Federal Records Act."

>>The report states that its findings are based on interviews with current Secretary of State John Kerry and his predecessors -- Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice, but that Clinton and her deputies declined the IG's requests for interviews.

The narrative is that Drumpf is so extreme, divisive, and evil that he "naturally" provokes violence. And yes, it will work.

For every individual who actually looks at the "protesters" and gets
a handle on who they are and what they are doing, there will be 10 who
just know there was violence.

292 Re: Sweetie, the feral housecat....

The first few months after our first daughter was born, her mother - my then-future-ex-wife - thought she wanted to work outside the home, and so, with my connections at a private university with a very large international student population (none of whom are supposed to work, but that's another story), I found a suitable babysitter to watch our girl a few hours a couple days a week.

Ms. Wu was heard telling other students, 'He has an animal in his house. He says it is a cat, but I do not believe him. I hear it throw itself at the door every time I pass the room. and it yells at me.'

And yet, that vicious little fur-demon never so much as swatted our daughter. Once, I saw my little girl, Sweetie's tail firmly in her grasp, dragging the cat backward across the floor. Sweetie just burned holes in me with her eyes. Later, when it was quiet, Sweetie slinked up from nowhere, jumped in my lap, and slapped me around with her paws a bit before curling up and falling asleep on me. We were cool, but she had to even the score.

As we saw with the Ferguson and Baltimore riots, the WH is putting tremendous pressure on cities to *not* come down hard on protesters (or "protesters"). The police know that they will be thrown to the wolves if there is an altercation with one of them that is filmed - they cannot count on the press or their city's leaders to protect or defend them. Obama and Loretta Lynch will come out in support of the protester, not the police.

This is the "Ferguson Effect" and it didn't just happen, it was created specifically to neuter the effectiveness of police against Obama's angry mobs.

336 Hillary is going to walk. Doesn't matter how much we point out the obvious, jump up and down screaming, no matter how felonious her actions may have been. She's going to come out of this with nothing more than a scratch.

The MSM and Demoncrats (BIRM) won't let it go anywhere. If they did, what would they be looking at? Bernie as their candidate? Biden or Warren jumping in at the last minute?

The party that supposedly fights for all, you know - battles us on the war-on-women issues, takes out a woman (despite what her pant suits make her look like) candidate? That is bad optics right there. And they can't run Fauxcahontas - she won't pass vetting (yet anyways).

I would love to see the day where I'm proven wrong on this. But OShit4Brains won't let his DOJ do anything more than dance right up close to the line of prosecuting her, then let her go. Then he can say they looked at it, investigated it and found nothing.

337 Word is that as coyotes migrated East they interbred to some degree with wolves, so that Eastern coyotes are bigger than their Western cousins, and more capable of taking down deer.

There are now a fair number in Westchester County just north of NYC where they've learned to feed on our overgrown local deer population. There are dens in Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx, which are thought to be the source of the coyotes that have been showing up in Queens and Manhattan.

365 As we saw with the Ferguson and Baltimore riots, the WH is putting tremendous pressure on cities to *not* come down hard on protesters (or "protesters").

Dr. McHugh also reported that there are "misguided doctors" who,
working with very young children who seem to imitate the opposite sex,
will administer "puberty-delaying hormones to render later sex-change
surgeries less onerous-even though the drugs stunt the children's
growth and risk causing sterility."
Such action comes "close to
child abuse," said Dr. McHugh, given that close to 80% of those kids
will "abandon their confusion and grow naturally into adult life if
untreated ..."

Our ruling class is much sicker than the late Romans.
They knew they were decadent. They still knew what virtue was. They knew they were inferior to the men of the old Republic.
Some rejoiced in the devolution and some decried it, but they all recognized it.

Our rulers, OTOH, call decadence "progress." They think they are vastly superior to the dead, white men, to all of their ancestors.
They abolish virtue --- but think themselves holy.

381 As for the urban rambunctiousness we're witnessing of late, here's one solution - tried and true:

The mobile sniper ambush. Two pickup trucks. a driver and a shotgunner up front, two riflemen, with scoped, bipod-equipped rifles lying in the back, under canvas. Two such vehicles, at 90 degrees to each other, and with a 'flashpoint' in sight, could shut down a riot at a few hundred yards' distance, and be more or less undetected, and certainly beyond the range of harm or even identification by the rioters.

Nasty, but something that we might well live to see.....

The frogginess of the New Red Guard is one of those things that makes me sort of hope that the fantasies of the NYC-DC crowd who claim to worry that Trump is the American Mussolini are actually true.

I seem to recall stories of Mussolini's Black Shirt thugs grabbing Communist thugs who were trying to disrupt the Fascist rallies and forcing them to drink castor oil so that they would shit their pants. It is hard to look like a proletarian hero and martyr when your pants are full of shit.
