Anchorman Moment: Champ Kind Blows His Stack After Veronica Corningstone Reads His News

More uncomfortable than a chicken beak in your shoe.

At KRON, the sports guy was apparently super-keen to report the news that LeBron James (a basketball star) would be starring in a "Space Jam" movie.

But the female anchor had already mentioned that story.

This upsets him in a way that's hard to describe -- but he tries to describe his feelings of betrayal anyway. For like three minutes. On air.

It's always funny when I hear someone lose the plot and forget about the audience and the event because of internal/housekeeping issues. It is sometimes easy to forget that the handful of people you can see aren't the only people who can see/hear you. Takes a bit of effort to talk about what you're being paid to talk about, not just what you feel like talking about.

No.

The problem that nobody can voice Bugs is issue enough alone.

History teaches us that we would much rather have an athlete fake being an actor than vice-versa. This will not be different.

There are athletes who have done some decent-ish jobs, or at least enjoyable to watch, as character actors. But athletes playing athletes...can anyone name one single watchable example?

We had a morning news guy in SoCal who started flirting on-air with his lead anchor (who had been at the station for over 10 years) on his FIRST DAY. She was obviously uncomfortable but stayed professional. What made it worse was that she was married to the star lead anchor on the evening news....at the same station. Talk about stepping on your dick.

Plus, the dude was a stumble-tongue. Couldn't pronounce half the city names in the area. It was like watching a train wreck, except that it was more horrific.

He lasted about 6 weeks.

108 When my broadcast partner, play-by-play or color, makes a mistake, I usually correct him/her the next time that topic comes up, and they do the same for me. Usually name pronunciation or some Team "fact" that is outdated. Like he'll pronounce the name "Smith" and the next time that guy gets near the ball I'll be sure to emphasize the pronunciation "Smythe" and then I'll get a thankful nod from my partner and he'll start pronouncing it that way, we don't note the correction on air, just power through it. Every once in a while there's a "let's agree to disagree on that one, Joe" but always with at least a half-chuckle into the mic so people know we're not actually arguing about it, just trying to get it right.

131 Embarrassing!

This is why the only local news we watch is the local CW channel's morning show, where they goof around, tease each other, and the elder news anchor slyly mocks a lot of the "news" stories w/dry humor. They know that morning news audience is mostly interested in weather and traffic updates, so they make the rest fun, such as hard-hitting stories about the latest workout craze.

I've been seeing a lot more women in hijab this last year. Still mostly on their own, so there's that, but I don't know if they are the wave the federal government recently dumped here or are long term residents adopting hijab as defiance against perceived anti-islamic feeling.

A dirty secret is that many fairly assimilated long term residents will feel pressured to "return to true islam" by the newcomers, who have shown no hesitation in asserting their will elsewhere.

yep...it's sad but true.....
When I was in college - back in the bad old days - there were a number of Muslim girls I knew. I had Muslim friends and even a few girlfriends who were Muslims, and it was just a minor detail - they were Americans who happened to be Muslim.

Now, however, I see a lot more of the 'old-country' shite, and one girl I used to date - a gorgeous and wonderfully intelligent young lady whose parents were from Egypt, but who was, herself, from Texas - and the first Texan I'd ever met - now dresses in a slightly-less than altogether orthodox manner.

Which is a shame - she managed to wear a scarf without it's being anything more or other than an elegant and flattering accessory.

Sad.

Dude, dat soundtrack tho. Six times platinum! That's only three times less platinum than Footloose!

R. Kelly. Seal improving on Steve Miller's stoned out ramblings. Coolio. Method Man. LL Cool J. Busta Rhymes. Spin Doctors (of "Two Princes," "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," and no further fame) with Biz Markie. Barry White feat. Chris Rock. Quad City DJs, D'Angelo, Monica, Salt'n'Pepa, All-4-One. Curtis Mayfield, Nile Rogers, Jay-Z, et al., on songwriting and production.

Resurrect Beethoven. Put everyone with a top-10 hit in the past decade at his disposal and tell him to out-record the Space Jam [1] Motion Picture Soundtrack. He'd look at the task before him and promptly re-commend himself to the company of the damned knowing the challenge to be insurmountable.

269 Calling BS on the video with the weatherman.

I believe he, the female newscaster, and the producer got together and planned this as a stunt to create a viral video, and bring attention on themselves.
