There's quick and then there's 10 seconds. This wasn't an ad, so much as a GIF with sound added. That makes it a lot easier for people who like the guy to dismiss it.

Disclaimer: I'm a huge fan of the Preacher books.
This isn't that. That's not an insult at all, I like that they're taking the core of the characters and turning it into a different story. But it's not the books at all.
I liked it provisionally but the pacing felt weird and there was a lot of choppiness to the fighting bits. Also it is fairly graphic in the violence and not quite enough in the nudity.
Dominic Cooper is quite good and it has potential but it feels a bit mangled.
I do like that Tom Cruise blew up though.

Yep, maybe he did, but even if he didn't, it's the smart thing to do. First, you get to meet and schmooze all these guys, and to take their temperature if you don't them well already, all in a context in which you are clearly in the driver's seat and they're there with hat in hand, eager to please.
Meanwhile, everyone out there is vying to kiss your ass, and to give you whatever you want, in an effort to curry favor and influence with you for when you're in office. No point in ending the suspense now; play it out.

Disagree. Lot of Sander voters are prepared to sit home. Just as the worse Hillary gets , the more NeverTrumpers will change their minds about staying home, the same goes with these Sander voters. I don't think that ad will make anyone change their mind to vote for Trump.

Honestly, I have no reference point to the comic (er... graphic novel??), and I don't really notice things like bad editing. Much. Or to put it more accurately, I notice bad editing, but don't realize how or why.
I'll see how it goes. Frankly, if we're keeping score, I think AMC has a very low batting average when it comes to quality shows.
