Parents of Two Children Killed in Paris Attacks of 13 November: We're Not Paying Our Taxes to a Government That Pays for the Upkeep of our Children's Killers, and We Demand the Reestablishment of the Death Penalty

If you want a corporation to change its behavior, you hit it at its bottom line.

The corporations known as governments are in the business of extracting taxes from people. So.

Attacks of 13 November: Some Victims' Parents Refuse to Pay Their Taxes

by Anne Jouan

Some parents who lost their children in the terrorist attacks of 13 November have addressed a letter to the president of the Republic last week. They rail against the payment of the costs of lawyers for the presumed terrorists by the [taxpayers].

Wrath. How to survive after the death of a child? Worse, of two children? Wrath is necessary, Aristotle tells us: "One cannot win anything without it, if it doesn't fill the soul, if it doesn't warm the heart: it must then serve us, not as a master, but as a soldier."

Driven by this struggle, the parents of two children murdered on 13 November have addressed a letter to the president of the Republic of which Le Figaro has gotten a copy. To Francis Hollande, they explain that if their children had lost their life, it was due to their "jihadist friends." Therefore, they refuse henceforth to pay their taxes "which serve to defend the killers of our children through the intermediary of the funds guaranteed to hire their lawyers, and for their upkeep as well as that of their ilk on French soil, our Fatherland!"

They have so advised their tax collection center and placed their money in an blocked account.

"You have brought them to their deaths"

These parents, who do not wish to appear publicly, deplore "such subsidized criminals, who should never have been free and killing in the middle of the street at their whim!" Finally, according to them, their children "are dead, victims of your indulgence and interference," they write to Francois Hollande.

In sum, it's the reestablishment of the death penalty which is demanded as the crux of this missive. And this wish to return to the law voted on in 1981 is shared by the parents of another french victim of an attack perpetrated by a foreigner. Just the same as a father of two children who lost his wife at Bataclan.

The open letter finishes with the "shame" of being led by Francois Hollande. "Our children were voting for you, we were telling them: This man will bring you to a bad end! We didn't believe it would be so literally! You have led them to their death," it reads at its end.

20 Baring violence, I presume the only thing that will change the course of the current transnational socialist elite is a general taxpayer strike.

The question is how to unite people in doing so, considering the state will destroy any small group of people who do so.

It will be interesting to see what the French government does about this...though frankly as they intentionally brought this mess to the French people (gotta break a few eggs...) it seems it will likely be something bad...

claim 99 dependents on your withholding, then don't pay up at the end of the year would probably work.

Of course, FICA would be taken out regardless.

Oh, but then the government would put liens on all of your possessions, dock your paycheck, attach onerous fees and usurious interest to your tax bill, and send a SWAT team after you, who will probably shoot your dog and may or may not shoot you.

obama, Democrats and Republicans in Washington have decided it's okay to allow thousands of Syrians (and people claiming to be Syrian refugees) into the USA.

58 I grew up in the 70s, and I always held that the US kept the death penalty because Americans basically did not trust their gov. The post war period had a lot of liberal experimentation with crime and rehabilitation. The Willie Horton add hit a nerve because it was so true, and the majority just did not trust that someone convicted and deemed unfit for society would stay convicted.

That distrust is a good thing.

This was often a topic of conversation in grad school with the European students. They thought Americans were barbaric, but I thought they were fools.

In Europe, they trust their gov. more, but also, I think they are more used to living under capricious and adversarial rulers, so they make believe they are more civilised but in reality they are less in control.

Effective immediately, Executive Order 98,347 states that "The United States Federal Reserve and Treasury Shall print and gift as many U.S. Dollars for the nation of France to offset any losses due to citizen tax withholding." So let it be written; so let it be done.

That is my plan. I am staying in the heart of Paris, close to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame, etc, so I expect the gendarme presence to be ubiquitous. I spent more money, but, I should be able to most of what I want without submitting to taxicab roulette. Same thing in Florence. The workshop is at property in the countryside.

People can be monsters. My husband's Mother did not write him a single letter while he was in Viet Nam, did not send one care package, and probably prayed for him to die. At the end of her life, he finally disclosed all the childhood beatings for not following her "rules", etc. to me. I never understood their relationship. I also never understood the contempt that my sister in law, the favored child, had for her Mother. Once I knew that, then, wham, it all made sense. Strangely enough, she was always good to me.

My husband was also extremely capable with fixing things and he spend hours undoing/redoing the messes his step Dad made. When his Mother died, she left the snottiest will leaving everything to their only grandchild with 2 one hundred dollar bills in an envelope for him--saying that she was excluding him because of all she had done for him while she was alive. So - not so much different than the US, which has changed into a largely unrecognizable place (exclusively in negative ways), seemingly over-night.

Hmmm, so let's look at just a few "news" items to check the water temp.

VA administrator compares veteran medical wait time issue to waiting times for rides at Disneyland. He retains his job for more than 2 hours. The public yawns, and turns to more serious items .....

"Major league baseball" (love the ludicrous faux gravitas of these under-regulated business partnerships that deal in stupid games) is going to "investigate" why a stadium employee mistakenly played the normal national anthem recording when a chorus was singing it. Oh - it was the "gay men's chorus". And oh - it was "pride" night. So - "investigation".

387 Speaking of ice cream, only capital ships in WWII had ice-cream makers (carriers and battleships - correction desired if cruisers also had them).

The "price" for returning a rescued pilot to a carrier (usually by a destroyer - they had/have them positioned strategically to be able to recover ditched pilots near the carrier) used to be a few gallons of ice cream. Pilot would be winched over as the ice cream went the other direction. You can find photos of his.

391 I wish it was as simple as not paying taxes.

However refusing to pay taxes turns into wage garnishments, bank garnishments, asset forfeitures, benefits seizures, loss of licensing - both professional and licenses to drive, fly and own various objects controlled by the state, attacks on credit ratings, issuing of liens against real property to prohibit sale and seeking loans against, and of course the long dance of lawfare and contempt charges putting you in prison.

And that is just avoiding the taxes that you have an option to pay or not pay, it doesn't count the ones upstream of you that are passed on to you in increased costs

I wish it were that simple.

Visited in 2007. One panel of text - on the battle for and conquest of Nanjing, ahemm - was, actually, hilariously bad. In both English and Japanese - my Japanese wife guffawed reading that version as I guffawed reading the English.

Something about (close paraphrase): "and then the Japanese Army broke the defenses, occupied the city, and life returned more to normal". For some definitions of "normal" - biological warfare experiments on the population, beheading contests, starvation, mass oppression, rapine, and looting.

Anyway, it was pretty amusing. So amusing that I read later the Chinese govt. had - oddly, through the US govt. and our embassy - requested a change to the text, which was quickly done when someone at the foreign ministry in Tokyo got wind of what it said.

This is where it gets tricky. You have to put 3 million Baht ($100k) on deposit. That is a 4 year old exchange number.

Then, being an American, you have to pay a Thai house finding service to buy a place. If they find out the buyer is American, price goes up 5x.

For a Thai transaction, a 2/2 nice little house goes for about 20k U.S. House buyer agency fee is another 3-5k, whatever you can negotiate.

oh for fuck's sake, speaking of San Diego

the San Diego Padres fired one of their (entertainment?) contractors today because of a mistake made that prevented the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus from singing the National Anthem. (You have no idea how difficult that sentence was for me to type.)

The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus was prepared to sing the national anthem Saturday when a recorded voice of a woman singing came over the loudspeakers. When the song ended, the 100 members were escorted off the field and were heckled by a number of fans in the stands.

Bob Lehman, the chorus' executive director, said in a statement earlier Sunday that the incident raised "serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community."

Jane, this is my only serious comment of this 24 hour period.

We can make people hate us, we can make people fear us, we can make people uncomfortable, we can make people avoid us.

We can never make people be grateful to us no matter how hard we try.

In the end we do what we do for ourselves - and that includes doing things for people we love, and those bastards often never even say thank you.

You can't make people be grateful, and if you try hard enough you will make them avoid you.

Sorry. It hurts me too.
