I'm reminded that I heard somebody speak of when they met one of Trump's sons. The person was a big "gun guy", and proud of their home "arsenal" (for lack of a better word). Then he saw what Trump's son had and was humbled. I think the collection included tens of thousands of rounds. It reminds me of that character in "Temors".

What if he changed the federal safety code such that if a building was a gun free zone it must have additional security measures? Make such measures arbitrarily expensive and onerous, and you've effectively gotten rid of gun free zones.

I always like the notion that if theaters, restaurants, chain stores etc wanted a gun free zone on their property..... they automatically assume liability for the safety of their patrons and can be held civilly .... and if the neglect was egregious neough, criminally liable for failing to provide adequate protections if their patrons became the victims of violent crimes on their property.

I wouldn't really expect him to go all-out on this, because it's not a signature issue for him, but it's still something that he can do to grab media attention, etc. so it's something that would come naturally. With his sons having small arsenals of their own, there's good reason to believe he's genuine on this one.
