10 Ah Bob "Corky" Corkhole. It does make sense that an idiot stupid enough to "flip the Constitution" would see inserting himself in the hurricane that is Trump as a wise move.

I want Trump to win, I will vote for him, but there is no way on Earth I will ever consider him the wise choice.

Everything is a graft window to them. Tax money, in their eyes, is an infinitely renewable resource that can be diverted to their pockets endlessly with absolutely no negative impact, because there's always more to replace it!

Until there isn't. Then they slink away or try to blame a Republican.

I was discussing the NFL, my issue with the RCC is very similar to my issue with Roger Goody to a degree however.

The NFL like the RCC maintains a security force to report to a central authority malfeasance on the part of its staff. Too often the RCC like the NFL ignores the data trail so long as it is not embarrassing in a public manner.

Aaron Hernandez comes to mind.

Outrageous!

Posted by: Lois Lerner at May 11, 2016 08:18 AM (7lVbc)

48 Good Morning Horde!

There are some new polls to discuss today, and I'm going to try to provide a bit of reality to discussion.

First let me get Congress out of the way. There are no changes in those races, the Democrats will win at least 3 seats in the Senate and 12 seats in the House. Whether or not they over perform those numbers has a lot to do with how the presidential race turns out. Democrat over performance has historically been tightly tied to their ability to turn out their base.

Now on to the Presidential polls.

The big discussion yesterday was the release of the Q polls for Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The Trump supporters were positively giddy that they showed him essentially tied with Clinton in those states. Rush was elated and couldn't stop talking about how it was making the media heads explode. I was highly amused by all of the people who have been saying "the polls are meaningless this far out", suddenly felt that THESE polls have meaning.

There was also a PPP poll that released yesterday that was in line with their last poll. In this poll Clinton leads Trump by 6 (last poll it was 7) at 47-41. The RCP average changes slighty to a Clinton average lead of 6.4% (47.3 to 40.9).

Now the cold splash of reality.

None of these polls showed any change in the state of the race, not even the Q poll. Trump's support remains in the low 40s nationally, and he only improves to 42% in the battleground states. The electoral volitiliy is all on the Clinton side of the race. This could be an effect of the Bernie voters vacilating between Clinton and #NeverHillary. Or it could be the reflection of an undecided group that doesn't want to support Trump, but can't reconcile themselves to voting for Clinton.

In any case, there is an undecided group of somewhere from 10% to 20% that doesn't know who they want to vote for. The one thing that we do know is that they aren't supporting Trump right now.

Trump has a very solid and unchanging base of 40% support. It doesn't vary and shows up in every poll, whether they are "good" or "bad" for him. But to win this election, he needs to convince those undecided to vote for him. Convincing them to not vote for Clinton is not enough to overcome her core support from the Democrat base and fraud machine.

The thing to look for in future polls is seeing Trump's number rise. Even if he can get a result of 44% in any national poll, that would be cause for optimism. It would show that he is able to grow his support.

If one were to do a serious news sweep of all 50 states once a week, the teacher on pupil sex thing would be a large scandal. But, it won't be.

My prediction of what comes along next in the filth and decay of the USA is lowering the consent age of minors to have sex with adults. The filth mongers have to have something to push when the transboobed/dicked rage is over with.

Will Durant, one of America's unsung Greatest Intellects, fell in love with one of his students, a Russian-Jewish girl named Ariel. In order to ensure his, her, and the university's reputations remained unbesmirched, he quit his professorial job, left the school, then married her. They then went on to co-author the final books in his outstanding "Story of Civilization" series, which covered all that was good, beautiful, & bad about Western Civilization from the Greco-Romans to Napoleon.

Indictment for Hillary is unlikely - she knows too much.

Now, whether any of her inner-circle cronies get indicted? That's a different question. If Sanders actually gets nominated (superdelegates feeling the Bern from people in their own states) then indicting her inner circle could happen. If she loses in November then indicting the inner circle commences.

Why do I think that? If you want to destroy the Clinton's power in the Democrat Party, remove their courtiers. Then it becomes the Obama Democrat Party for the next decade or so.

On one hand, Durant was only 13 years older than her, rather young for a professor. Actually, he was principal of the Ferrer Modern School, not a university level instructor. On the other, she was all of 15 when they married, making her possibly as young as 13 when they met.

A guy in his mid-20s getting involved with a girl who is barely in her teens is seriously creepy. It may have worked out well in this case but I wouldn't recommend it as a model for teenage girls.

Yeah, then. Chaya (Ariel was Will's nickname for her) was born in Russia and immigrated with her parents. 1911 wasn't so long ago that WASP-y (or most other groups of longer standing in US society) parents would have regarded this as acceptable. It had as much to do with the culture of the girl's family as the era.

My own ancestors were Russian Jews (Ukrainian really but they are often treated as the same thing) who immigrated around the same time. I know of no child brides among any of my extended family in the US, nor among any of their friends. Anecdotal perhaps but this inclines me to believe it was a bit unusual even then.

Like any "cause" there are "foundations" with some dead guys money who decided to make this their cause. It's the institutional aspect of these foundations that scares the heck out of me. We really need to require that all foundations themselves die and give away all their money, within one generation of the founders death. 233 So Brad Thor, among others, thinks Trump is a proto-fascist. Most everyone else on the conservative side thinks even if Trump is not a fascist, he's completely without any morals at all and an opportunist president is dangerous, as in Obama-level dangerous.

So plenty of the most militant anti-Obamaites are now equally anti-Trump. Trump needs to demonstrate this is wrong somehow, before the train really gets moving.

None of us should want to see Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren occupy the White House. And yet, plenty are starting to argue Trump is worse.

Don't be defensive, Trump people, and resist the urge to attack, because you're just proving the opposition correct. Trump needs to persuade here, he needs to make a principled argument.

.I don't believe it will happen slowly. There is already a warped precedence for lowering the age of consent for kids. They are letting these gender confused kids make life altering changes to their bodies as young as 6 years now, so it is just a small step to letting them decide if they want to have sex at that age.

257 So I was thinking about the "negative rates" comment that I put up a few minutes ago and it got me to thinking:

I actually think that this will be the next likely thing that we see from governments, working with the central banks. This is how they will do it: They will extablish a substantially negative rate structure, issue government bonds at these negative rates, the governments, under the auspices of the central banks, will buy the bonds and pay to own them thus institutionalizing taxpayer funding of the negative rates. A giant shell game of a totally hidden tax scheme. This could be the greatest fraud perpetrated on the world - EVER.

I bet they do it. Soon.

It's the whole "broken clock is right twice a day" thing. George Bernard Shaw is another one you can do that with.

"A fool's brain digests philosophy into folly, science into superstition, and art into pedantry. Hence University education." and "A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul" are both great bludgeons against the modern Left, despite Shaw having been one of their butt monkeys. Also one of our old favorites "He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."

Winning a campaign against say-anything Democrats (just watch Hillary go into her accents or try to persuade an out-of-work miner she isn't trying to starve his family) requires fighting fire with fire. Trump knows that, and he's not going to give an inch on bullshit like "the woman card".

But that cannot be his whole campaign, and by stating and restating his positions constantly, often within minutes, Trump often sounds more flexible and opportunistic than even Hillary.

He needs to figure out how to counter the impression he himself has created. His supporters can't do this for him. People like Brad Thor are smart enough to hear what he's saying and understand arguments that make sense. Trump himself needs to make those arguments.

If they issued negative rate bonds, bought them themselves, paid to own them; you would wind up paying for them anyway without even knowing it. This would be a giant money printing operation that would probably even work. For a while. And then money would be worthless. And, if many governments did it at the same time, it would happen globally, all at the same time. Fun times. There are some hedge funds (three at least) who believe that Japan is looking at something drastic like this. Their plan is to QE all of their debt and then try to pull of a jubilee/debt forgiveness gambit. I don't see how that would work without near universal buy-in, but governments are getting desperate - obviously. With 200 trillion in obligations, you know that this country is going to try something like that, and probably soon.

310 For those who haven't read Brad Thor's letter on Trump, here's one key paragraph:

In fact, he has not only failed to ever stand for liberty, he has repeatedly worked to undermine it. From supporting an assault weapons ban, the seizure of private property via eminent domain, the restructuring of libel laws, and socialized medicine (just to name a few) - throughout his entire adult life, Donald Trump has repeatedly championed the power of the state.

Regardless of what he says now, Donald Trump has a history. That history is the clearest indication of how he would govern as president. No matter how badly Americans want to "blow up" Washington, they absolutely must consider who, and what, arises from the embers of that destruction.

After voters drop that atom bomb, what happens next?

Herein lies my greatest concern. What will become of liberty under a Trump administration? Will it grow? Will it recede? Will it vanish altogether?

311 As an ardent opponent of the homosexual agenda...

It always amuses and irritates me to see people bedevil even the most innocuous of homosexual offenders, when a great many of those accusers make wild cracks about their many divorces and not-at-all-veiled 'jokes' about lusting after women not their own.

Homosexuality is wrong, but so is divorce as it is practiced today, in the Western world especially. You may attempt to put up any kind of fence around at-will divorce you like, you can call it an annullment, you can say that the priest approved, but none of that matters.

What matters is the heart behind the action; God judges men by what is in their minds, and no slip of paper or approval of your peers or earthly leaders will make a lick of difference to the King. So then, let us not become hard-hearted against our brothers and sisters, as it is written, "For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment."

I ask only for consistency. And mercy. But mostly mercy.

324 >>"They are letting these gender confused kids make life altering changes
to their bodies as young as 6 years now, so it is just a small step to
letting them decide if they want to have sex at that age."

First, we don't let 6 year olds vote, join the military, etc....because those are adult decisions, so why let a 6 year old decide to change their sex?

Also, I would say that it's likely not so much that the parents are "letting" these gender confused kids do this so much as encouraging these kids to explore their gender, consider their options simply because they did something normal like play dress-up in their sister's ballet clothes or decided to play with their brother's Legos and GI Joe.

I know there are a small number of people who have inklings of not being the right sex as early as this (just as some people have known they were gay at an early age); however, I think we can all agree that our culture currently encourages kids this age to consider these options, long before kids typically develop a sexual identity, and it's sick.

In what fashion?

And even if it be true, what matters is our actions being done as towards God, not other men. Consider,

You have heard that it was said, You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

We must not let ourselves be discouraged when we are not treated as we are called to treat others. That this will happen is foreknown. We need to double down and continue on in Christlike ways, it is the only way for us to achieve victory.

Three years ago this summer I brought my Chicago driving skills to Ames, Iowa. It all went well enough until that fall. There were 36,001 enrolled at ISU just last year. I had to adapt, I was outnumbered.
IPspouse warned me that "The Internationals" will come first. No words can explain the experience of living with almost zero english speaking and reading students turned loose driving.
From all continents they come, smashing tail lights and bumpers with esprit. Parking lots and traffic signals become even more of a gambler's game once the newly free from supervision, and now very distracted freshmen arrive.
Come winter though, the first snow generally weeds out the weak of skill, and they become road hazards on foot until May.
