4 I tried listening to that thing with O'rourke's "endorsement" of Hillory. Good grief, people are stupid.

Not O'rourke, I don't care that he hates Trump. I don't really fault anyone who hates Trump, but the nitwits who think he's actually going to vote for Hillory. Stupid.

And one of the idiots on that broadcast compared the denial of Trump to the denial of Globall Warmening.

Good lord, so much stupid.

5 saw a Republican woman on msnbc a little while ago. she said that Trump said he was open to raising the minimum wage and that's not a Republican stand, so she might have to vote for Hillery to keep Trump out of the White House.
Makes perfect sense, in order to defeat someone who might do something I disapprove of, I'll vote for some who will definitely do it.

Now, if you tell me "we should elect Hillory because she would be so hated her agenda would be crushed nearly instantly, that makes some amount of sense.

Just saw that William Schallert, the man who played Poppa on "The Patty Duke Show" passed away yesterday at age 93.

At one point, from about the late 60's through the mid 70's, Schallert either was a cast member or guest starred on virtually every television show on air.

He also remained lifelong friends with Patty Duke.

RIP, Bill.

18 A State Department video has been altered in what could be an attempt to hide a 2013 discussion with reporters about whether the Obama administration lied about when it first began the Iran nuclear talks.

Fox News reporter James Rosen reported Monday night that a section of a Dec. 2, 2013 press briefing was somehow erased from the State Department's own video of the event. In the section that was erased, Rosen was interviewing then-spokeswoman Jen Psaki about when the talks started.

The issue came up in the last week after Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes admitted in a New York Times interview that talks had started around 2011. But he said the White House later pointed to the election of moderate Iranians to the government as a justification for letting the talks start in 2013.

25 "Fascinating never-before-seen photos show President in immediate aftermath of tragedy as crisis engulfed the White House"===============================================

I know this is not considered the correct opinion by many, but I like
George Bush. I did then and I do now. He's a good man who loves his
country, loved the troops ( who loved him right back) and did the best
he could with the information he had. I never once thought that he did
not have the best interests of this country at heart. Not once. I know
many have differences with some of his policies. I get that. But
George Bush made me feel like we were Americans living in America. I
don't know if I'll ever feel that way again.

No need to bring up all the reasons why he De Debil. I've heard it all before. Nevertheless.

Still cool. Quiet all day. Activity picked up after dark. Especially on ammo dumps where our boys are loading up tonight.
.
May 9, 1944
Cloudy again. That's hard on CB work. We can't get photos. All was very quiet till about 2200. Then we had an air raid plus some shelling on the front lines.
Funny thing about those air raids. This was the first in several days - and we, deep down in our hole - have rather missed them. There is a certain thrill to listen to the "blow-by-blow" accounts over the radio.

May 10, 1944
Another cloudy, quiet day. Gerry seems to be more or less content to let us do the firing, which at best is light.

44 One man was killed, and three were stabbed A German national stabbed three passengers at a train station near Munich early on Tuesday, after a 27 year old knife-wielding assailant reportedly shouting "Allahu Akbar" attacked people at Grafing train station 32 km southeast of Munich at about 5 a.m. local time.

The attack might have an Islamist motive, officials said. "The perpetrator made remarks during the attack which point to there being a political motive," Bavarian police said in a statement, adding he had been arrested and there were no further suspects. Apart from "Allahu Akbar" the man was heard shouting "unbelievers," Das Bild newspaper reported, citing local witnesses.

The prosecutor has confirmed the death of a 50-year-old man. He added that "two people are badly wounded, one is in critical condition." The three injured are aged 58, 43 and 55.

Afghanistan:

The investigators wanted to know how the strike occurred. But the
interviews they conducted also revealed almost universal confusion among
the Green Berets over their exact mission in Kunduz. The goal was
simple: not to lose the city. But in a reflection of the ill-defined
parameters of the United States' mission in Afghanistan, no one involved
in the battle seemed to know how far the group was supposed to go to
ensure success.

This is why I'm not convinced that Hillary would be worse than Trump (let's say I'm only 90% convinced).

I think there is an excellent chance that she has taken so much graft that she will screw over her Democrat base. Crony Capitalism will keep on going for 4 years and she does nothing to upset that gravy train, and none of the progressive priorities get done. Except amnesty, that one happens in the first 100 days and becomes her legacy.

114 How the hell do you have a backlog of $11 billion in maintenance projects?

Easy: the National Parks biggest expenditure is probably fending off lawsuits from environmental groups.

It was probably a decade ago that I read that roughly *half* of their budget was spent on lawsuits - environmental groups suing of clear-cutting policies, protection of endangered species, that sort of thing. Given that they are likely now working with these interest groups, who knows if they spend more or less than that (kinda like how the EPA has a friendly org. sue them to do something they want to do, then settles in court so that they are now court-mandated to do it, cha cha cha).

Not according to MiniTru.

The state interior minister of Bavaria, Joachim Herrmann, has said a suspect being held by police after a knife attack at a train station outside of Munich suffers from mental health and drug problems.

Herrmann added that there was no indication of an Islamist background, but police are looking into 'political statements' made by the suspect as he carried out the attacks. The suspect has admitted to the stabbings, Herrmann said.

277 I know this is not considered the correct opinion by many, but I like
George Bush.

Posted by: grammie winger at May 10, 2016 08:10 AM (dFi94)

I would very much agree. George W. Bush was a good man. We know a couple, friends of ours, who used to live in Austin. One very hot 4th of July, the guy (who was a a/c repair person at the time) gets a call to go to the governor's mansion. Their a/c was out. He goes. He is outside, working on the heat pump system, and yes, it is hotter than the main bearings of Hell outside. This guy walks up, wearing jeans, a tee shirt and cowboy hat, holding a big glass of iced down fruit juice. He says to our friend "It's too damned hot to be working out here without something cool to drink" and hands him the fruit juice. It was George W. Bush, governor of the State of Texas.

Now, can you imagine Hillary, or Obama, or Trump, or most other political or media types doing something like that for some poor schmuck who has come out on a holiday to fix their damned air conditioning?

Something else I saw, a video made right after 9/11. Bush had gone to New York to visit with a group of family members of those killed in the attacks. The crowd was quite large, as one might imagine. The visit was supposed to last about 30 minutes. It didn't take long before some functionary starts bugging GWB about how time's up, time to go. GWB keeps telling him no. Finally Bush spins around and tells the guy in no uncertain terms, no, he's not leaving yet, and to back the hell off. Bush stayed there for over 3 hours, talking to everyone present.

Again, can you see Hillary doing this? Obama? No, I didn't agree with many of his decisions, but he was a good and decent man, which is a damn sight more than you can say about most politicians.

You might then be able to make the case that the 'conservative movement' is not as dead as people have been claiming. If they feel the need to tag their agenda with the adjective 'conservative' there must be a worthy number of potential voters/supporters under that banner.

Just a thought.

Trump has the potential of being a paradigm smashing President

That's why I wish the true conservatives in the Party esp. those like Ted Cruz would get over their butthurt-

and make sure that Trump is co-opted into a conservative agenda of 3-4 really important things-

to be done right after inauguration.

Hell, even if he's a big gov't works guy that can be co-opted into a huge cheap energy and energy-independence agenda by getting rid of the CO2/global warming scam in gov't regs by law.

Open up restricted Fed lands to coal mining, gas and oil exploration. Build clean coal and gas turbines.

Start a YUUUGE nuclear power plant program for "clean energy" with the new safe models of say 5 in each state. IF you want electric cars then you need, clean, safe, reliable massive amounts of power.

Build YUUUGE redundant, shielded "dumb" grids throughout the country to protect against solar flares and nuke electromagnetic attack. And you make sure it's "dumb" so it can't be used by progtards to control and punish Americans and is mostly immune to cyber attack.

Not exactly conservative but would be achieve several conservative goals in a runabout fashion.

Hell, yes it would.

When reality won't let me use my first plan, I sure don't sit around a piss and moan about it, I try to figure out how to bend things to a solution that best accomplishes what I want.

Anything with John Haynes, Harvey Klehr, Steve Usdin, Mark Kramer is interesting.

I also like Dr. Eduard Mark. However, as you can see in the videos he appears seriously ill and he died days later. RIP, Ed!

324 "286 President Barack Obama will travel to Hiroshima this month in the first visit by a sitting American president to the site where the U.S. dropped an atomic bomb."

Perhaps including a commemorative B-52 flyover in the "missing city" formation?

328 In defense of those kids with the tornado, that seems like as good a plan as any for getting out of West Kansas before the sun sets.

The best part is the friend who suggests they drive to Denver and see if anyone recognizes them.
