4 also, I wouldn't take any advise from a loser: at weaselzippers:

Asked if Trump should continue calling Hillary Clinton "corrupt
Hillary," "McCain said: "Well, I wouldn't, but I'm not one to tell him
how to campaign except on the part of uniting the party."

maybe the old fart will do us all a favor and say that we have nothing to fear from a Hillary administration.

6 Morning.

Since I was willowed on the ONT, I'm reposting this. Really, I'm not trying to start the same old battle. That fight is over as far as I'm concerned. I'm just expressing my own reservations:

702 votermom and the other Trump supporters here:

Since I will vote for Trump over Hillary, I am doing my best to come to terms with Trump being the nominee. But he makes it terribly difficult - not because of taco bowls and trivial crap like that. I actually found the PC outrage funny.

It's stuff like the Soros ties and the fact that his SIL, a strong Democrat, has been named head of the White House transition team. That's the sort of thing which makes me believe that conservative tears will flow no matter who wins in November.

It's hard to get excited about someone whose big selling point is "He's not as bad as Hillary."

See, now that's the sort of thing that will motivate me to vote for Trump.

F McCain and the John Kerry he rode in on.

12 Good morning, everyone. I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday; hope all you other moms did too. All of my kids were here except one who is still in finals; we bring her home tomorrow. The kids made breakfast after church, then we all went for a lovely hike in a nearby park. And afterwards my parents came over and my husband and kids made dinner. The weather was lovely for the first time in a while. It was just a beautiful day.

I agree with what you say wholeheartedly. Problem is all the candidates that don't have connections were frozen out. At least Trump might do something that Soros, Goldman Sachs, the Fed, and even the Dems might not like. Trump is an old man and might be trying to get into Spiritual Heaven.

19 It seems some Arizona neighbors were feeding the wild Javalinas who attacked a woman out walking her dogs. In our town we have instances of people feeding deer. In both cases, those neighbors are only making the animals dependent on people and unafraid. Ultimately it's a death sentence for the animals in question.

Leave wild animals alone. If not for your own sake (preventing attacks), do it for the animals sake, so they won't eventually have to be destroyed.

I know it's against everything I stand for, but part of me is praying that Donald Trump turns into Augusto Pinochet, outlaws the Democrat Party (and most if not all the GOP) and just rules by decree.

This is still God's world. Keep your faith in Him, as all the institutions of man are unworthy receptacles for it.

I know not how I come to such confidence, but even in this time of turmoil, I feel peace. My individual outcome may not be the best, but these people will not inherit the Earth. They can not endure, and God has already spoiled how it all ends.

Smile, and know that it is not our doom that they plot, but their own. 710 Hi Donna, glad you will vote against Hillary!

afaik Soros hates Trump.
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-03-15/ soros-alarmed-by-trump-pours-money-into-2016-race

I know you are talking about Steven Mnuchin, which has a lot of people worried because he contributed more to Dems than to GOP, and Soros is a big stockholder of one of the funds he works for.
So it is an eye-brow raising pick.
You may not know, he also has a finger in Hollywood and is an executive producer of American Sniper (and a bunch of other films).
So I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as someone who may be a stealth non-proggie

72 The HUD dipshittery is not about race.

It's about class.

102 RE: Section 8 and HUD regs - everyone say it with me Delegation Doctrine, start speaking it!

I have anecdata from a person I know in one of the tonier parts of Orlando that when the housing market there crashed post '08, the people stuck with unsold McMansions managed to get on the Section 8 approved list and starting "renting" the houses out. Yeah, that ended about as badly as you thought. They ended up selling their house at barely break even just to get out of the area.

It wasn't just that the poors moved in. It was that the landlords stopped doing any repairs to the houses, a good proportion of the people living in them didn't care because hey it wasn't their money and the cops point blank called her a racist to her face because she called repeatedly about various smaller crimes (graffiti, public intoxication, noise complaints) and not so smaller crimes (one group was running a dog fighting ring).

As I said, anecdata but that makes me inclined to believe the bad press about this.

111 The gaudy RV rolls on through the Republican Death-Lands, seeking out the strange principality of Ohio and the City of Cleveland where the cor9onation is to take place. Three emaciated figures spring up and wave musical instruments, causing the vehicle to stop.

"You - you up there! We're the Rolling Stones!"
Trump rises from his throne and looks down from the roof, the eyes of the Golden Scalp Weasel glittering, and says "What do you want saddle face?"

"Saddle face? I'm Mick Jagger!"
"He does have a point, Mick," the short one says.
"Be quiet! You look like a dried Tyrannosaurus turd!"
"Boys," the drummer says, "our last tour was sponsored by Centrum Silver. We're old."

"I asked a question!"
"Stop using our music! We demand that!"
"Why don't you boys step inside for a moment?"

The Rolling Stones enter the RV, exiting several moments later, dejection on their wrinkled, cracked features."
"He would have contracts," Keith says.
"Bugger all," Charlie mutters.
Mick snarls "This was the worst deal ever!"
The door opens and Trump hands out tutus. "You have to wear these."
"That isn't in the deal!"
"I have altered the deal, pray I don't alter it further."
"Man this is just the worst!"
Trump appears again. "And you will be led around by emotional support Chihuahuas."
"I can't believe how bad this deal is!"
"Ow! The little bastard bit me!"
"And you will be playing Shady Acres Rest Home for your next concert."
"Now this..." Mick pauses. "I like that, I think this is good."
"What!" Keith shouts. "Are you mmmph mmmph!"
"Be quiet!" Charlie hisses. "Just nod and smile."

The three nod and smile as the RV heads off, the Chihuahuas leading them off to the side.

unfortunately, too many Repubs continue to play the game that the Dems will get what they want no matter what, so we should cooperate with them so we can stop them from getting everything they want, and too many Repubs seem to want to play the game of "let Hillary become President, we'll win it back the next time."

which makes us presume there will be a next time.

This started believe it or not several years ago in the Dallas area-(if I'm remembering correctly)

when professional liberal scumbag judge "Barefoot" Sanders ordered the housing of welfare layabouts in far north Dallas abutting the Plano area-

based on the brilliant legal justification that "it wasn't fair" that hardworking people of the middle and upper middle class in nice, safe, family-friendly neighborhoods didn't have boatloads of Section 8 assholes making their lives miserable.

Really. That was his "legal" justification.

And it worked out exactly like you would predict.

The Section 8 layabouts didn't raise themselves up and why would they? They didn't earn what they had. So why change when it was free?

And crime rates skyrocketed. Including introducing hard drugs, muder, rape, home break-ins.

Texas for all its glory has a YUUUUUGE contingent of hardcore commie assholes in positions of power. Little Jurassic Parks leftover from the LBJ days who make everyones lives miserable.

mostly noted how PCism has. infected the West to the degree that Obama the Undeserving got elected twice and how no one else is equipped to do anything to turn that tide. Further that the democrats are only offering leftovers from the 20th century. Finally that Trump challenges the West to think for itself again, outside of the PC sphere, and that brashness is a Needful Thing.

I went out with spouse on Friday and had a nice dinner. Yesterday, I had a acting performance to do during a church service, and thank God it went well. I didn't want any fuss made about Mother's Day but my husband brought me some beautiful lilacs which are my favorite flowers and since he was an incredible help with me studying my lines I couldn't ask for more.

226 Russia on Monday staged a grandiose military parade through Moscow's Red Square as part of nationwide celebrations to mark 71 years since the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

Some 10,000 troops, tanks and nuclear missile systems swept across Red Square's cobblestones in front of President Vladimir Putin, senior officials and a handful of war veterans.

Putin addressed the troops, congratulating them on a holiday that traditionally unites Russians across political divides.

227 HUD's plan to force landlords to accept Section 8 renters really burns me up. We already have something similar in my area, where it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of source of income. Smart landlords get around this by insisting on good credit. I'm just waiting for HUD to declare it illegal to discriminate based on credit because it disproportionately impacts minorities and Section 8 tenants aren't paying the rent anyway, so why check their credit?

And let's be honest - if Section 8 tenants were good tenants, landlords wouldn't be so wary of accepting them. Some Section 8 tenants are fine, but so many of them just trash the property. If HUD really wants landlords to accept Section 8 tenants, then they should guarantee to reimburse for damages and they should also take away the voucher from any Section 8 tenant who trashes a property. There is no accountability for Section 8 tenants who do a lot of damage - they just move on to another property to be destroyed.

This is especially salient, since I remember threads where people have gone off saying that they would prefer Biden to Obama and about how they think that basically, he's a nicer person.

We seem to have a shitty candidate. One that beat the clown car.

I do think many of us who are anti-Trump have been critical of the GOP as many of the Trump supporters. Perhaps not to the same degree. And certainly the GOP does share a large portion of the blame here.

Obviously a segment of the population has felt ignored. I'm not sure the best way to court them.

One of the reasons I supported Santorum over Romney (in what was a weak field) was because of his economic populism. He wanted 0 tax for manufacturers. And I thought the GOP could use a little more populism - though not full blown of what we are seeing now.

That would have a been a way of courting them that would have moved the country in a direction I could support. No income tax for manufacturers. Sure - but then why not for all corporations.

Anyway, we are here, and it looks like it will get uglier. In the long run, maybe that will be good. Time will tell.

Our problem is, how to effectively influence the leadership and course of the GOP. Either we replace them, and at a rate faster than new people can be co-opted (the Dark side), or we ram through a front runner that supplants them.

The tea party was a third, independent force. And every entrenched power hated it and attacked it. Both parties ran fake or nominal tea party candidates, or gave lip service to their goals and/or maligned them. In the end, the IRS went after them and the GOP did nothing.

So here, the criticism is exclusively anti trump, anti trump supporter. He'll probably be gone this time next year. COD dropped like a rock.

292 But trump supporters and them only are to blame.

----------

They are to blame in that they voted for him. We can blame Obama all we want for things, but he won two elections.

They did not load up the clown car.
They did not load them up with the same fucking talking points.
They did not issue a death threat to Cruz.
They did not kiss katshit's ass and campaign for him.
They did not run their mouths about brokered conventions, new slates and the other shit.
They did not demand loyalty oaths, which apparently the GOP has no intention of honoring.

Trump supporters were given this choice and were told to bow down to the GOP. They chose otherwise.

At least some of them voted against the shit sandwich.

Posted by: Blue Hen at May 09, 2016 10:13 AM (326rv)

293 I get the Trump opposition - in some ways, it's a way for the GOP to show they have SOME sort of power over something, anyway.

Of course, this exercise does little to nothing to advance their putative goals, but, hey, after Hillary's elected, I'm sure they'll rally the troops, grow a spine, and not only roll back everything their voters have wanted rolled back, but might even put forward and enact a few of their own goals.

I'm sure they will....

So, yeah, principles they ain't got when it comes to crunch time.

I have yet to talk to a libertarian for oh, say...longer than five minutes when the talk turns to wanting dope to be legal and that's really what they want from their fantasy libertarian gov't.

Principled support of freedom...not so much.

Obviously, there are factors into how they ended up voting for Trump. But should Trump lose badly or should Trump be a terrible President (however that is defined), then the Trump voters will bear some of the blame - since they are ones who voted for him.

None of those things may come to pass, so it may be premature at this point.

If the vote for him was merely to send a message to the GOP - then we'll see if it worked.

Posted by: Blue Hen at May 09, 2016 10:01 AM (326rv)

The Establishment created Trump by purposefully going knives-out against every Conservative and Outsider candidate as early as they could, using the media to make them look weird and kooky, often by repeating bullshit or using things out of context. They wrote off Trump as a clown from the start. When Trump attacked Cruz, helping Marco to slime him, they backed him to the hilt for that brief instant. They still didn't take him seriously. The entire goal of their clown car primary was to float either JEB or a similar interchangeable part to the top in a sharply divided race.

And then they realized that they'd lost control of their own monster, and that the 35% victories weren't going to JEB, but to Trump. When JEB flamed out, they doubled down on destroying Cruz and expecting Rubio to float to the top... But people simply weren't interested in their picks. This is the Amnesty election, so there were only ever two choices in the race after Iowa if you don't want to be living in Aztlan in 20 years. One guy was the clown that they never expected to rise to the top, and they had fatally damaged the other.

Thus from the clown car emerged a clown. And somehow the Establishment is now surprised and appalled by this turn of events. I'm most likely to hold my nose and vote Trump, barring any unexpected events. I'm not happy about it, but then I remember, neither are they: And the sons of bitches deserve him.

306 I had no problem with nominating COD. Incumbents should be removed from time to time, even if you risk losing an election. For me, the stakes are a little higher with the Presidency than with a Senate seat.

Posted by: SH

They were going for an open seat. Delaware had one of the last primaries in 2010, one that had seen an actual incumbent lose his primary. Castle was set to be crowned by the state GOP, when COD, who was good enough for the party two years prior to run for the same seat, made a fight of it, with tea party support.

She shouldn't have run, considering all of the polling available. She shouldn't have been treated the way she was by the party either. Castle ran late, badly, and went negative. She looked and sounded exactly how Republican primary voters wanted; in a tea party year (sound familiar?) He gave interviews the week of the primary to the Weekly Standard crowing about cap and trade. And epic WTF moment, which might have made sense if he was running for the dem primary.

307 Re: Hillary's legal exposure.

IMO she's likely to get hit, if only with the leak of a criminal referral.

Hillary has exposure to pay for play charges involving Foundation donations and Bill's speaking fees that would be especially damning, because it would show she's a crook which even many Ds won't condone. There are enough dots on the page in the public domain to draw this cat, but it's not clear if Comey is pursing this.

There are a plethora of potential charges over her e-mails that can be brought against Hillary and her minions. Because they touch on national security, many of the relevant statutes have lesser standards of proof than your typical criminal statute, i.e. you don't have to prove specific intent to violate some of these statutes, just recklessness or even negligence.

Hillary's IT guy Pagliano got immunity to testify and he may the best witness. At a minimum, he'll testify that Hillary personally hired him from Hillary's 2008 campaign staff to set up the home brew server in the Clintons' Chappaqua home, which goes to her intent. He may know a lot more, including how secure emails got moved from the government system to Hillary's home brew, which required human inter-mediation. The FBI has other ways to prove how this happened and to identify the specific individuals involved (I'm looking at you Huma and Cheryl).

The FBI/DOJ had to work to get Guccifer extradicted, which may be a tell that they're really working the case. Compared to Pagliano, he may be a side show as a valuable witness, but he can help establish predicate facts to bring in Sid Vicious, and that the home brew created a serious security breach: "it opened like an orchid."

Recent leaks about Hillary's e-mails aren't a full tell.

Huma and others have had their cups of coffee with Comey. Hillary's is coming up.

Herridge at Fox has been getting the best leaks until now.

CNN just got a leak that includes "The investigation is still ongoing, but so far investigators haven't found evidence to prove that Clinton willfully violated the law the U.S. officials say."

A different leaker with a different agenda? Key words are "still ongoing" and "willful" as Hillary can get charged with recklessness or negligence, without proof of willful intent.

Developing, but the FBI part of this should be wrapping up with a criminal referral. I don't know how the FBI could write a summary investigation report that didn't conclude that there's sufficient evidence to pursue charges. It'd still be AG Lynch's prerogative to seek an indictment, but that's a different question. High odds that an FBI criminal referral gets leaked.

What's astonishing is that Hillary could be so close to being the nominee of a major US party with this cloud hanging over her head. Bienvenidos a Argentina!

So you want behind the door dealings. I thought we wanted more open dealings. In politics, part of dealing is making public statements. Ryan made a statement and left the door open for Trump. He made it transactional. Trump's a great negotiator. We'll see. Part of his negotiating strategy is to criticize Ryan. Again, we'll see if it works. But I have no problem with what Ryan did here. Blind loyalty to a party is what has gotten us in the mess we are in.

Well, it's generally understood and traditional that the nominee is the leader of the party.

Ryan is using his last little bit of influence to get amnesty through in a way that won't destroy the GOP.

My guess is that if Trump wins the general, but not in a YUUUUUGE scary for pols landslide way- the GOPe will throw in with Obama and give us amnesty and open borders.

If Trump wins huge, they may still try it but will probably fail.

So, Ryan's "negotiation is poison to Trump's election.

Were i he, I would get Ryan removed as soon as I lock up the nom with delegates.
