Lie: Jason Riley Publishes the Invitation from Virginia Tech That Virginia Tech Claims Doesn't Exist

Sure looks like the letter says "My purpose in writing is to invite you."

I'm neither a lawyer nor an expert in party etiquette, but I'd say that's an invitation.

Please Consider Placing Virginia Tech In Your Top Five Safety School Choices

It's the Mizzou of the south.

Bonus: What a shock -- Trump "interested" in vetting Katshit for VP nominee.

Katshit did his job, I guess now he gets his reward.

94 Kasich's path to the presidency, thought by most to be delusional, was he would hang around while Cruz (and to a limited degree himself) denied Trump enough delegates to win on the first ballot. If that worked and the delegates were freed to vote for anyone, he saw himself as the compromise candidate (ala Harding in 1920 - 10th ballot!). Once Cruz dropped, his path was gone. He saw what everyone else saw: Trump would have the delegates wrapped up before the convention, so no longer even a theoretical path for Kasich.

Trump is the anti-Hillary, so he will probably pick someone who causes white Democrats to defect to him. I'm betting Jim Webb, who has been attacking Hillary and the DNC for months. Or maybe he'll go third party in a Kasich role.

Maybe, but I can't think of one offhand. There's a long list of things he needs to do to get me to consider voting for him.

He can start with getting his head right on the first amendment. No more of this shit about what people should be "allowed" to say, or getting the FCC to fine people for criticizing him.

He could also stop expressing his admiration for Chinese and Russian dictators.

He needs to do those or no deal, but those are just at the top of the list.

Virtue signaling.

USC just canceled a gaming conference with MAJOR industry people. They had invited developers/designers from the biggest games - Call of Duty, League of Legends, World of Warcraft. This would have been huge for students who wanted to be in the gaming industry.

They canceled the event because there were no women speakers invited. Female students hardest hit. No way to get in the door when it's slammed shut.

I think the VP should definitely play an important role with Trump. On the assumption that he is the next POTUS, if the Repubs lose the House and/or Senate - don't think for a moment that they'll be looking for any excuse to impeach at the slightest offense.

Hell, I'd say even the Rethugicans would do it too. Either way, the VP could very well end up becoming the president.

The impact will occur bottom of the ninth, two out, bases loaded your team down by three when (presume your favorite player) steps to the plate, takes a mighty swing, the ball is sailing and it's a toss up if a grand slam to win the Series or a running over the shoulder basket catch for the other team to win and everyone is yelling and screaming and

301 Trump was being interviewed by CNN and was informed that Kasich was suspending his campaign at 5pm today.

Trump was asked if he would consider Kasich as VP.

He said that he would consider vetting Kasich. He said he liked John and had a good relationship with him. Whether he was VP or not, he could do a lot with Ohio.

Remember when Carson said that during the debates, all the vitriol was simply "theater" and once they went to commercial, everyone was friendly with each other?

What would have been the better thing to say, "Hell no, I wouldn't consider that pizza guzzling slob for a janitor position?"

Trump needs all of his rivals voters he can get. Why piss off the 80% of Ohioans that like Kasich?

I believe Trump has a list of 30 plus VP candidates he's vetting right now. Kasich is way down the list.

Is it just that she's basically Hillary-lite and they want a minority?

Posted by: Ghost of kari - certified sidebar

Good points all.

But I think the Hillary-lite and minority bits are important. All libs see is skin color and gender. Black was checked last election. White woman was checked with Hillary. I'd bet money on some kind of Mexican.

In reality, the nominee chooses the VP. It's true that the convention has to ratify it, but they never deny the nominee his choice. Unless Trump goes with someone way the hell out there, they will give him his choice.

Yup, that would be in line with conventional election strategy. I was only half kidding with my Mia Love guess. Or Mary Fallin? But Trump has another consideration in that he needs to pick somebody who can help bring the republican opposition back home to him. I don't know if there is such a person, but if so he needs to think about that.Call me crazy, but I still think there is some hope of that. Not now, but maybe a bit down the road some of the bitterness will fade and hopefully Trump's team will move to do some listening, mend some fences and extend some olive branches and get these folks back on board.

Variety2: "Let all the illegals in and you're all racists."

There are others, but they will go the way of a certain other minority who dare deviate from Groupthink.

Posted by: jollyroger at May 04, 2016 02:49 PM (t06LC)"

Make Cruz the VP. Show some humility and genuinely apologize to Ted and Heidi.

THAT will unite the party: it will signal to Constitutional conservatives that our vote and opinion does matter, it will create unification of the most popular candidates, and it will show the electorate that the party is united. It will also show that Trump actually does value the Constitution AND will have the Senate pretty much either agreeing to their agenda or face an ousting by elections.

If Cruz is VP, I will gladly vote for Trump. WITH NO NOSE HOLDING. Otherwise...3rd party.
