8 Obama has been using a memorandum of understanding regarding IRS changes to minor regulations that have to be done annually for tax purposes. Yes, it was intended for "minor" changes that had minimum impact on overall taxes so they could be done without waiting on legislation. Instead Obama has been using this for major changes that have major impact and a Republican is demanding to see the actual memo. My question is why? If they had proof that Obama was embezzling billions through IRS for personal gain they would do nothing.

21 IBD says American voters of both parties are vastly ignorant of economic truths. For the Democrat side they reference the Democrat's embrace of socialism (press speak for communism) and on the Republican side they reference opposition to TPP as opposition to free trade. On this I have to disagree, TPP is vastly different than "free trade". I am not opposed to free trade if it is truly free trade for both sides. But not only is TPP a sell out, but is has a lot of crap in it that has nothing to do with trade.

26 My ship was involved with the evacuation of the Saigon embassy. That helicopter in the photo could easily have been one of the many that were flown out to the USS Enterprise as we evacuated the US Embassy at the last minute. The fall of Saigon and South Vietnam was the direct result of the Democrat congress cutting off military aid in 1974. When we left the US and headed over in 1974 we had a number of aircraft on board that we were going to deliver to them but had to off load them because of that cut. Once aid was cut when the commies launched their final offensive in 75 it only took 55 days for the end. Democrats are good at starting wars and really shitty at winning them. This is why I was opposed to going into Iraq. I knew that as soon as the Democrats were in power again they would cut tail and run thus pissing on all the American dead. Guess what, I was right.

I prefer crony corruption because it is corruption. Fascism is the Italian version of communism in which the State forces businesses to operate within strict rules by the State for the benefit of the State without actually transferring ownership of the buisness to the State.
Most of the US government is now involved in fascism well represented by the EPA, the FTC, HSS, and most other government regulatory agencies.

When the current administration give money from the taxpayers to favored businesses and cronies that is corruption.

Yet when it comes to their graduation ceremonies, it seems theyd prefer exclusivity.

More than 100 colleges and universities this spring will be holding separate graduation ceremonies for the LGBTQ population and their allies, according to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). This includes Georgetown University, Duke University, Harvard University and Boston College, among others.

132 >>More than 100 colleges are now holding separate graduation ceremonies for gays bowing to the Gaystapo.

That makes no sense.

The special ceremony was started in 1995 at the University of
Michigan by Dr. Ronni Sanlo, a Jewish lesbian, who said she was denied
attendance at her children's graduation because of her sexual
orientation.
"These events provide a sense of community for
minority students who often experience tremendous culture shock at their
impersonalized institutions," HRC says on its website, explaining the
need for such ceremonies. "For many students they are the payoff for
staying in school, and friends and families find the smaller, more
ethnic ceremonies both meaningful and personal."

Why would she have been denied attendance - was it that the family didn't get enough tickets (because they weren't married/she wasn't recognized as a parent?)? If that's the case, I would bet that is no longer an issue *20* years later.
How is it that gay students "experience tremendous culture shock at their
impersonalized institutions" - are there not Deans of Gender Equity and whatnot on campus to make sure they feel comfy? Also, since when is a college supposed to provide you a community that is "meaningful and personal" - it's a freakin school, not day care.

Apr 29, 1944 -
It's getting awfully close to the end of April and still no invasion. V-- writes they are setting themselves up in their very best parade ground style - -Saturday inspections and all - down below. So maybe we are just waiting until the real-big picture breaks.

Apr 30, 1944 -
No invasion. Now will sweat it out through May.
Not much doing today. A few shells fell in town. The front was generally quiet. SSF tried a raid to the east but were not very successful.

V-- was a good friend of EZ Dog's who was stationed with the 5th Army in Naples at this time.

the real-big picture => The much anticipated Normandy invasion, expected at any time now.

SSF => 1st Special Services Force "The Devil's Brigade" spent this part of the war in the eastern flank of the beachhead.

Look at Charleston.

Decades ago it was mixed use Navy/Tourist town.
If you were stationed there, it was because you were in the military.
If you were in the military, chances were good that you held conservative values.
if you got out, or retired and remained in the area, you kept your mostly conservative values in the area.

Alos, there was some tourism, but those people just visited, and left.

They closed the main Navy base, built a huge tourism industry, and told the weirds how great it was to live there.

168 Good Morning Everyone. Cold and raining here. Ugh.

All week long at least once a day, sometimes as many as three times, ads for life insurance have been getting through my spam filter.

Do they know something I don't. I'm starting to worry here.

169 None of the advanced western countries strictly enforce laws against illegals or criminal immigrants anymore.

Enforcing the law is racist, sexist and homophobic unless they're the pretend ones that further the leftist agenda

170 "I guess I just don't understand why students need to be recognized and applauded for their sexual orientation/identity."

I think it's a spinoff from the great Straight graduations of the past.

Students walking up, receiving their diploma, and shouting their straightness, and celebrating their heteronormative orientation for all the world to see.

Sort of like that.

Everything the same, but not together.

171 Looks like we topped out at just over a foot of snow yesterday. Still low clouds and ominous looking, may get some more of the white stuff today. I'd like a little local climate change, please.

173 Delta connection through Detroit is by far my preferred route.

Facility is new and very clean. I suspect Detriot has invested heavily in DTW because, well, Detroit. Where else are they going to attract business? They have a pro-business governor... As such, I think they would keep a pretty tight leash on the Union shenanigans.

174 There are far worse airports to be stuck in if the union folks force delays. ORD and LAX being prime examples.

LAX is the worst. La Guardia is a crappy place too, but I hear it is being remodeled.

Detroit Metro has been remodeling for years, and is now quite a nice airport. I connect through there for flights from time to time.

Suburbs around Detroit are some nice towns, etc. But literally, being in some parts of Detroit after sundown is physically dangerous. I have a work friend who used to call on a customer in Detroit, and he ALWAYS carried when he went in to visit. He was told not to come if he thought he would be there after dark. The place was surrounded by 12 ft wire gauge fence, with barbed wire on the top.

175 Query:

Is not "off the reservation" a racist and offensive term?

Waitimng for Eliz. Warren's take on that one.
