Is ESPN a Hotbed of Over Racists?

Yes it is, says fired former ESPN analyst Curt Schilling.

"Some of the most racist things that I've ever heard come out of people that are on the air at ESPN. There are some of the biggest racists in sports commentating, and you take it for what it is. You know who they are. You know what they are. I like that they are openly because then you know who they are. You know that they exist."

He needs to name names. If we're living in a Purge The Heretics Society now, all the Heretics must be Purged.

All. Not just the ones the left doesn't like.

11 I'll say it again and again if needed. The best use of a tv set if you are not going to use it as a target is to put it in your closet and leave it there.

You get more time with real people that way. AoS is enough entertainment for me.

26 The thing that gets me about this is that ESPN is doing the Left Wing White Knite bullshit and firing someone for daring to question an issue that costs them nothing at all to champion.

Let's break it down. Who is helped and who is hurt by allowing trannies (who have the same level of aggression against women as any man) into women only spaces.

Trannies- They get to jack off (literally)over being "accepted" as women.

Leftist men- They get to feel morally superior.

Women everywhere- Now face a higher chance of being raped/photographed/used as masturbatory fodder.

Why must women pay the price?

30 I love college football, so in the fall I have to watch ESPN. The network and majority of the personalities on it can get fucked, however.

Sports journalists are just as ignorantly liberal as any other journalist; they just happen to report on things much more interesting than Congressional budget committees or city council meetings. Peter King and Rick Reilly, to name two examples, are drearily predictable latte liberals who inject their shallow snob politics in sportswriting, which makes them more jack ass than your average political journalist.

50 "Racism" as a term and concept has been emptied of meaning, except when it's used in an inverted fashion (i.e. normal open-minded people or behavior is slandered as "racist").

Racism (in its original, lost meaning) is only important now in how it distorts society and corrupts/degrades standards and institutions as moral narcissism, rent-seeking, and authoritarian hubris leads to social engineering to "atone" for past transgressions.

Tokenism (patronizing). Affirmative action (wildly destructive, the platonic ideal of racism in action). "Social justice" coercion, intimidation. Ignorant guilt/moral narcissism-driven behavior by non-"minorities" (suburban libs/moderates voting for an absurd non-entity like Obama, vapid non-libs celebrating this catastrophe, the slimy, repugnant conflation of immigration policy with "racial" considerations).

And - some commenters at this site, though not many, firmly in the grip of one or more of the pathologies listed above.

As far as ESPN and sports go I find as I get older I don't really care much anymore about which team wins a game. I think sports are fun to watch every now and then, but any personal investment I had in them is pretty much gone. If my favorite team (let's say the Lakers) wins the Finals, it really has no impact on my life either way. I mean yeah it's kind of cool I guess. Posted by: iforgot at April 28, 2016 08:28 PM (d+knu)

Meh. Everyone knows who he's talking about. Black commentators are almost universally racist. It was like when Bryant Gumbel (IIRC) said that the winter Olympics were bogus because there were no blacks in them and blacks were better athletes. It was as "racist" as it gets but no one cared because Gumbel is black and also because he had a good point. But if Jimmy the Greek had said it ... whoa, Nelly!!

What Schilling said would be like saying that lots of singers sing racist songs. No need to name names as everyone knows pretty much who falls into that category. It's never been a secret or anything.

97 grammie, the politicization (translation: idiotic distortion with insertion of racist, fascist, or other loathsome nonsense, which call "liberal" or "left") of sports "journalism" just reflects the extent of the general rot.

I recall the last time I glanced at a restaurant review in the local free newspaper (one of the only things it was useful for) was back in the fall of 2008. Stupid non sequitir little jibes and comments in support of the affirmative action non-entity now disgracing the WH.

As I said, last time. F***ing RESTAURANT REVIEWS with political flavorings? WTF?

Of course the devastating realization is that 90% of the country just laps this idiocy up - THAT is how distorted their framework is.

174 Boehner has always been a pathetic, loathsome figure. But he's just the artless, cartoonish exemplar for a much bigger problem, as most of y'all have long realized.

The day after America confirmed it was simply an unserious nation (election 2012), recall how he was serene and joking around, and within 48 hours he and others in the "leadership" were talking about taking action on the country's top priority: amnesty.

About that plywood armor stopping 5.56 question, reminds me, a while back at action rifle match, some of the participants were in construction and had brought along some "ballistic" material they were using to harden a guard shack at some local project. They said the buyer had specified it, they were just incorporating it.

They had brought a sheet along with them and when the match was over, we did some redneck laboratory testing. They shot their ARs - hmm, penetrated. Match director shot his SKS - penetrated. I shot my Mosin - hilariously penetrated. General laughter. They said they would advice the customer of the "test results" that week ....

LOL.

Actually, years ago Venus and Serena both claimed that they could beat any male player ranked outside of the top 200. The guy at #203 took them up on the bet and played both of them and beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2. They then changed their estimate to be any male player outside of the top 350, which is still likely to get them trounced.

That was back in 1998 at the Australian Open.

325 It is this disconnect that haunts Obama. He has, by his own lights, managed the recovery as well as any president ever could, with results that in many cases exceeded his own best hopes. But despite the gains of the past seven years, many Americans have been left behind. Something has changed, and as he prepares to leave office, Obama seems to understand that his economic legacy might be judged not just by what he has done, but by how the results compare to a bygone era of middle-class opportunity, one that perhaps no president, faced with the sweeping changes transforming the global economy, could ever bring back.

Nobody ever seems to remember that demolition.

He lost later to Billie Jean King, but he trashed the number one player in the world at more than twice her age.

Connors and Navratilova had a match too, Connors blew her away while smoking a cigar and getting a backrub.

What steams me is the notion that an obvious man with obvious appendages is supposed to allowed in the ladies' room just because he says he "feels" like a woman. That opens the door to yuuuuge security risks.

Eventually the NCAA will just drop the charade of amateurism. Seriously, every single team does this shit - in the meantime, they catch one or two teams a season and give them a bit more than a slap on the wrist. Outside of SMU and a few other teams who really got pounded by sanctions, it tends to just be symbolic punishment.

519 The searchers is an awesome movie. Something I've always wondered: While they were doing that first chase of the raiding Indians, some of them branched off and Wayne's character went after them by himself. When he returned to the chase party he was mighty distraught. Apparently she'd been raped and killed. Keeping in mind that character's mindset throughout most of the movie, did he kill the teen girl because she'd been raped by the Indians?

His point about the silence of the establishment over the rise of Trump is very telling.

Many people I have grown to respect over the years view Trump as the cure to the GOPe. But I suspect that he is a symptom. The establishment thinks they can weather his candidacy, and presidency if he can win, and remain in power afterwards.

But Cruz is Lucifer.

Perhaps a down ballot blow out is indeed what we need. Because the Republican Party is not going to save the country.

596 The one who was with Anne Hathaway, Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal), was the one who was really gay. Ennis (Heath Ledger) sort of just went with it after initially rebuffing his advances. And when Ennis's marriage to Michelle Williams dissolves, he ends up at a seedy bar and sleeps with a strange woman, not a man. Whereas Jack deals with his problems by going to Mexico and sleeping with male prostitutes there.

600 The amazing thing about western movie shootouts is how far away from each other the fighters stood. I'm no expert but weren't those revolvers pretty hard to shoot accurately?

They say a colt peacemaker is accurate out to about 50 yards, so its not unreasonable, but I doubt those guns were in tip top condition and the bullets those days were black powder not modern really nice stuff so maybe half that.

611 I goofed on the casting Brokeback Mountain a while back

Heath Ledger enters the office of Rex Silkscarf, casting director.

Rex: Heath, great to see you, sorry about the wait, I had a conference call with Will Smith and Spielberg, long distance, I had to take it.

Heath: That's all right Rex, I had to catch up on my week-old Variety magazine reading. So what's this about a new Ang Lee movie you were talking about?

Rex: You're gonna love it, it's a complex movie about relationships, see? You are married to this gorgeous babe, we see a steamy love scene in it, I've got Anne Hathaway for the part.

Heath: I get to sleep with Anne Hathaway, check, sign me up.

Rex: It gets better, there's a love triangle, someone else in your life and you're torn between them.

Heath: ok good, some depth, something to work with. Can I play the bad guy? I never get to do that.

Rex: no, no bad guys, its about love and trusting your heart, we're looking at whats the name... (rustles through papers) Gyllenhaal for the other lover.

Heath: Anne Hathaway and Maggie Gyllenhaal, and you're paying me for this?

Rex: No, no not Maggie, Jake.

Heath: Jake? Funny name for a girl, any relation?

Rex: He's her brother.

Heath:... okayy...

Rex: We're gonna shoot on location in Montana, you'll be cowboys, real tough guys!

Heath: gay cowboys, uh ok.

Rex: Between herding sheep or whatever you do with them, you'll have torrid love scenes in a pup tent!

Heath: wait, you said we were cowboys, you mean cows?

Rex: No, no (looking at the script) definitely says sheep here.

Heath: So let me get this straight. I'm a cowboy who has sheep that sleeps with a dude instead of Ann Hathaway?

Rex: Right, it says you wish you could quit him!

Heath: I don't understand this movie at all...

Buckeyes are probably going to break the record for most players picked in a single NFL draft. They've got 9 or 10 more guys who should be taken in the next 6 rounds. I got hit going straight through a green light by some stupid bitch who was turning. Bike totaled and I broke my collar bone and had surgery to put a plate in, also cracked a rib. She wasn't insured and driving her mom's car. Apparently in the good ole commie state of MD driving uninsured lawsuits cap out at 100k. Settled for 49k with 20k going to medical bills as I was uninsured at the time (the lawyer gets 25k/30% so technically 75k). The really kick ass part of it all, she was a foreigner. Was a great experience all around. I guess I should be thankful, if it had gone to court I probably would have had to pay.

664 Men and women are very different in the, what's the best word, erotica. You know, visual shit, of various sophistication and style, that turns 'em on.

The "when women do it/pose like this, it's hot, so let's do it with men to turn on the ladies" is almost always going to look homoerotic and be creepy.

Suze Randall is/was a big porno photographer. She's a woman and made some of the raunchiest (and best) shit around. Her daughter runs it now, I think. It was beautiful, a mother/daughter porno team.

Anyway, I read something, either by her or an interview. She got the idea to a do a solo shoot with a dude, or was asked to do it for something and so got to thinking about it. She thought it was great. It'll be a goose/gander thing, and she'll shoot a dude just like she'd shoot a girl.

Well, when she got him there and started, she said it became the most awkward, weird, creepy thing. She said she had contractually obligated herself and would have otherwise just ended it right there, it was so creepy.

She'd done it all, girls alone, girl/girl, and girl-boy, but a man alone was just creepy and wrong in how it felt and came off. She realized she could only be comfortable with nekkid men around was when there were a bunch of nekkid women with them, and with the women as the real sex objects.

It doesn't work with men. It only works for the gay side.

But really it's still just hot for guys, in this case for guys who are turned on by guys.

681 The amazing thing about western movie shootouts is
how far away from each other the fighters stood. I'm no expert but
weren't those revolvers pretty hard to shoot accurately? As a kid
watching old westerns on TV I always thought Chuck Conners had the right
idea, using a rifle.
Posted by: MTF at April 28, 2016 10:56 PM (/m8T6)

Although you can shoot a pistol accurately at 75 yards, and if you are good a .44 Army Colt with black powder can lob them easily that far, most modern shootouts are figured to be between 15 and 25 feet.

Granted, the whole point in The Good the Bad Etc was to take advantage of the wide screen and give visual distance to help mess with your mind like you were there watching two other shooters.
On screen 15 feet is really two body-lengths and a bit, it would look like they were ready to reach down each others' throats or start a slap-fight, so it would be bad staging.

706 Good Morning Morons. Today is Friday, April 29, 2016. On this day in 1992 we had the forerunner of the hands up don't shoot Michael Brown press outrageous lies and liberal propaganda resulting in riots event. There were riots in Los Angeles, following the acquittal of police officers charged with excessive force in the beating of Rodney King. Over the next three days 53 people were killed and hundreds of buildings were destroyed. These riots were the direct outgrowth of the edited beating of King that was shown on TV news over and over. The video made it look like the police beat King for no reason at all. The jury saw the entire unedited video that showed he started the fight with the cops and that is why they acquitted. The press should have been charged for these riots and the riots over the Michael Brown shooting. And on that last one Obama and Holder should have been charged too.
