Desperate Blogger Posts Story He Doesn't Think You Care About Because He Can't Find Anything Else: the Megyn/Trump Interview

I honestly cannot find anything I care about today.

But the rules say I have to crap one of these pieces of crap out of my craphole every hour.

The special event I don't care about will occur May 17.

Open thread, obviously.

Oh, I guess this is an amusing Trump story: Trump's happy that loud, obnoxious celebrities (besides him) will leave the country if he's elected president.

Admittedly, that's a selling point.

In a phone interview with Fox News on Tuesday morning, host Brian Kilmeade mentioned that O'Donnell, a sometime nemesis of Trump, was on a growing list of celebrities who have said that they would leave the country if he won the White House.

"We'll get rid of Rosie?" Trump said. "Oh, I love it."

...

Another Fox host, Steve Doocy, listed other celebrities who have said that they would leave the country if Trump was elected, including comedian Jon Stewart and "The View" host Whoopi Goldberg.

"Now, I have to get elected," Trump said, "because I'll be doing a great service to our country. I have to. Now, it's much more important. In fact, I'll immediately get off this call and start campaigning right now."

40 Cruz will wake up tomorrow with five more bronze medals and be 400 delegates down, with Trump on a glide path to 1,237 or within the margin of delegate bribery or Kasich's 66 delegate Golden Ticket. So expect Trump to get the nomination on the First Ballot.

Trump is a rich target for criticism. Here's what worries me:

Road to Cleveland. Trump needs to pivot to looking "Presidential" as soon as he can, if he's capable.

Spending in the general. Trump is cheap. He'll need to raise money like Bernie has, and hit up a few billionaire friends. Will he? Hillary will raise a ton of money with her own #neverTrump. Can Trump make peace with the RNC to get money?

MSM. May forget the ratings and deny him oxygen in the general, and slant their coverage. Hillary may only agree to one debate not three because Trump is a sexist pig. (Trump will schlong her in debates).

Biden. I still think Hillary will lose the FBI Comey primary. Biden is actually a snake with a reptile brain, but for LIVs he's like an old broken-in shoe, and can be harder to beat if enough voters are scared of change.

74 Isn't anyone else offended that Hastert was charged and convicted of a fake crime, structuring? The papers say that he charged with "illegally taking money out of his bank account," which is not a crime. The whole thing is so rotten. Hastert should have fought the charges (pleading guilty obviously did him no good, they're still trying him on sex abuse), but does anyone else realize that if taking money out of your account is a crime, then everyone with a bank account is a criminal? And that it's really obscene that the DOJ is bringing up the sex abuse, even though the structuring has nothing to do with that? And the judge is like "you lied about the extortion" even though it's plain as day that in fact he was extorted? I love how there are no tranny child abusers in bathrooms but law is no object when it comes to handjobs that happened 40 years ago. Imagine what the FBI would say if you called them up and said "yeah, I got a handjob from my wrestling coach 40 years ago." Yeah? And?

Having watched the RNC screw over Cuccinnelli in VA by virtually non-existent support in a winnable contest, I have small hope that they will really forcefully support either Cruz or Trump after the convention. So, now VA has 200,000 felons added to the voter rolls, courtesy of the Dem Governor McAuliffe, so their cell block wisdom can now contribute to the presidential election. And given the high level integrity of the felon cohort, even if only 50% of them show up to vote, there's a good chance there will be an additional boost to the Dem vote tally of a least 200,000.

96 "Most likely all the states voting today will all go to Hillary in
November, Pennsylvania mostly because everyone alive or dead in
Philadelphia will have voted for her."

Someone -- the overly excitable Jim Hoft, I think -- was blogging in an overly excited way about the YUUUUUGE numbers of Pennsylvania Democrats who had purportedly changed their party registration to Republican in order to vote for the short-fingered vulgarian.

Except that when one looked at the actual numbers, it was essentially about 20 Philly car trunks full of ballots. Still easily within the margin of fraud for the very powerful and polished Democratic machine in PA.

Maybe in an absolute worst case scenario the Democrats would have to spin up Pittsburgh a little bit too.

"You are too late sweetcakes, the prophecy has been fulfilled, all rushes to its conclusion as was foretold."
"You lie builder of cheap condos and overpriced gin and juke joints."
"I do not - the delegates of the dead are released and flood the land, none know the full rules as they change quicker than I change wives. Chaos rules the Republican Death Lands."
"I shall bring Emmy-winning coverage that shall restore pre-Trumpian Order!"
"You do not see, which is the fault of the haircare products leaching into your female brain. Together we have the star-power to change this, bring the delegates to me, drive the establishment before me, taking the plum pickings of their positions and lock in all of prime time for the year."
Megyn pauses. "Seriously? Lock in all of primetime? Me?"
"It is ratings gold if you join me on the Trump side."
"They shall get an anchor beautiful as the dawn, more powerful than Sixty Minutes! All shall love me and despair!"
"That's my girl, I knew you could do it!"
The golden scalp weasel preens at the New Alliance of Fox and Trump.

I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become

257 Plus Canada doesn't fuck you if you're married and one person makes more than the other since there is no such thing as joint tax returns.

Say you have one couple where one earner makes $100K and the other makes $25K. In the US you get taxed as 1 unit at $125K. So that $25K earned by person 2 is taxed at a higher rate than it would be taxed if that person filed as a single person. In Canada, same scenario, person 1 pays tax on $100K, person 2 pays tax on $25K. So that $25K is taxed at a much lower rate.

273 "True thing: scientists have determined that squirrel do not, in fact, remember where they buried their nuts."

Squirrels are nature's communists. They find the nuts in the marketplace, bury them into the government banking account, then withdraw nuts they did not bury from same account.

One difference between them and human communists: they don't mass kill their fellow squirrels.
Posted by: MaxMBJ at April 26, 2016 03:54 PM (eXTZt)

Looking that up was an interesting read. But they end up not recovering 74% of their acorns, so they end up acting as reforesting planters.

Squirrels are beneficial to a forest where the communist is not. Until we bury the communists, anyways.

So Trump won 9 delegates, but will only get 1 at the convention. How very democratic (little d).

That the team's reaction to Harden's game winner to give them their one surprise buzzer beater victory (against a Curry-less dubs team) was more the face of a man calculating what it will take to move push his vacation plans back two days than an ecstatic professional athlete's reaction to victory.

Actually, the play-by-play guys talked about that during the game I watched, none of them seemed to think it was any big deal. Because when Harden made that shot, there was still time enough left on the clock for GS to come back and score, so it wasn't time yet to jump for joy.

449 Does Twitter even have a business model?
Posted by: ReactionaryMonster Bravely supporting kittens

Duh -- of course they do.

Here's the Executive Summary:

Twitter Business Model

1. Get a lot of venture capital investment.
2. Pay ourselves huge salaries and huge benefit packages and stock options when the money is flowing freely.
3. Buy as much real estate and sock away as much cash as possible in offshore accounts for as long as possible.
4. Utterly fail to ever come up with a way to monetize the company or ever generate enough profits to break even.
5. Keep luring in more investment $$$ with false promises, to prop things up while you keep socking that dough away.
6. Eventually implement some ruinous way to extract money from users and advertisers, but in so doing render the whole service unusable, so everyone abandons it.
7. Keep draining the company of as much cash as possible as it implodes.
8. Retire in style after the bankruptcy. Sweet!

459 Fenelon re hymn lyrics:

Not lyrics, but music. Our hymnal has an index listing hymns by the number of syllables per line. 8/6/8/6, for example. Every hymn in that listing can be sung to every other. Joy to the World can be sung to O Little Town of Bethlehem (and vice versa). I used to have fun with that when I was accompanying Sunday School services--play one hymn as a descant for another.

election in Maine alloted Trump 9 delegates, but he will get 19 out of

So Trump won 9 delegates, but will only get 1 at the convention. How very democratic (little d).

Posted by: Monsieur Moo Moo at April 26, 2016 04:27 PM (0LHZx)

First... we do not live in a Democracy (and I can't think of any better example than the Trump phenomenon to illustrate why).
Second, the delegates that Trump won, he doesn't get to keep past whatever ballot is set by the rules in Maine. That is why putting effort into the state conventions is so important. Cruz has grasped that but Trump has not.

Trump won Florida 45.7%.

But he got 100% of the delegates.

so how about the Trump whiners shutting up about democratic results and "the rules."

Trump won a Nevada Caucaus. Its not like he never heard of these things before.

Just because he's cheap to spend his own money and didn't hire good staff, don't whine about how "its not faaaaaaair."

Trump received $2 billion in free airtime.
