Nailed it, I thought. And over the years I've come to realize that that is all you can hope to do. Whether you're cast after that is really a matter of what the director is looking for, beyond your performance.

I know a lot of actors who'd take rejection personally and it would eat at them. You can't look at it that way. Also explains the psychological maladies of most performers.

me too, I think I've just resigned myself to it. I think maybe this country needs another dose of some good old fashioned liberalism, higher taxes, no jobs etc. waiting in line for gas might be a nice thing to for the youngins, and super high interest rates for icing on the cake. Maybe they need to get the whole woman as a president out of their system. I just give up trying to figure it out anymore. I'm glad we moved far away and bought our house while interest was low. We have money in savings and plenty of ammo. And little jon boat for fishing. I pretty much have just turned everything political off, I don't even listen to a.m. radio anymore, no news. I come here to lurk and keep somewhat up to date, but I find myself doing that less and less, it's all so very depressing.

I suppose it's slow poison as opposed to toxic shock. And with the golden opportunity squandered to explain the evils of Democrat-Soclalism - 8 months of name calling and reality star antics - I think the American people will eagerly step up for another dose.

96 Good morning, Morons!

Polling remains static as no new polls have entered the RCP average. This should change soon as the month old PPP poll should be falling out of the average soon. This poll is one of the two that are slightly favorable for the unstoppable juggernaut that is Donald Trump. He is only down 7% (outside the MOE) in that poll.

The general election remains a slam dunk for future President Hillary Clinton. All polls show her leading outside of the margin of error with a dominating average in the RCP mix of a 9.3% lead. Most of the polls show her hitting the 50% mark, which is incredible considering she has over a 60% disapproval rating.

It is puzzling how she continues to dominate the general election matchup. Very puzzling.

As a footnote, something that is mildly of interest, but of no particular importance. Lyin' Canadian Ted continues to poll well against her, being tied or slightly behind in the last 4 polls. Kind of weird for an unelectable bible thumping, lying, thieving, conservative who is universally hated. Thankfully, he has no chance at the nomination, so we won't have to endure the possibility of such a vile and ugly human having a 50/50 shot of defeating President Hillary.

If we are going to lose, then dammit, we are going down in style. Riding that nuke into the ground, just like in Dr. Strangelove.

In the Senate the Democrats remain in excellent shape to regain control of the chamber. They will gain at least 3 seats with a good shot at 5.

The House will remain in GOP hands, but the GOP will take significant losses. The Democrats will gain at least 12 seats, with the possibility of taking up to 22. This will leave Paul Ryan as the most influential Republican in Washington, meaning that his priorities will frame all GOP initiatives and compromises for the next 4 years.

And on that happy note, enjoy your day! Spring is almost here!

These people have learned nothing from life and have the exact same outlook as college kids. They are clueless as to the very negative changes taking place all over the country, although it seems they are aware something is happening (from their karma or something). Their solution to the gathering storm is to be nicer and love more all their like- minded friends.. Which will be a great strategy to stave off and/or prepare what is coming And more music festivals of course. The ones I know and their friends are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many millions more just like them.

(iii) Some kind of controversy a la Bush v. Gore.

Sometimes I despair as well. And then I remember that none of this is a surprise to God. He surrounds His children with His unfailing love, even when we're mired in crap. Especially when we're mired in crap. I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow. And he's a good, good Father.

I think they do. As far as I know, they don't go around and check. I stored a car in the winter in one. I came to get it out one day, and one of the units was open and the strong smell of thinner was in the air. I looked in as I drove by, and a pro painter had all sorts of shiny metal cans stored in one. I'm thinking it was solvents and such.

You know, this really concerns me. Texas is about the last great holdout of a large conservative voting population. There is this whole "Turn Texas Blue" movement. Between Libs moving here (fleeing the oppressive nanny states and taxes they created in California), and the massive Hispanic demographics shifts with illegal aliens' babies being born here, Texas doesn't have that many years left as a red state. Once Texas flips, there will be nowhere to go.

Genesee District Judge Tracy Collier-Nix authorized charges against Flint employee Michael Glasgow and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality employees Stephen Busch and Michael Prysby, The Detroit News and Mlive reported.

Glasgow is accused of tampering with evidence when he allegedly changed testing results to show there was less lead in city water than there actually was, local media reported. He also was charged with willful neglect of office.

Busch and Prysby were charged with misconduct in office, conspiracy to tamper with evidence, tampering with evidence, a treatment violation of the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act and a monitoring violation of the Safe Drinking Water, local media reported.

People use the parking lot at the gym as a cut through and NOBODY stops at the stop signs. I am really surprised there aren't more accidents but I think the gym members are extra cautious as they realize this.

As predicted, his idiot, spoiled, bossy lib siblings are now going after him in texts, "You need to get another caregiver in!! She will hate being in temporary nursing care!!" Husband explained that their mother FIRED the last in-home caregivers.

Of course, three sibs live in ATL and are worthless (the life coach is on another of her travels) and the NY sis is good at criticizing and being bossy, while sitting on her ass in her apt.

Gurkha who beheaded Taliban soldier in Afghanistan battle cleared to return to duty

A Gurkha solider who beheaded a Taliban gunman and carried his head back to base in a bag has been cleared to resume his duties.
The private, from 1st Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles, was involved in a fierce firefight with insurgents in the Babaji area of central Helmand Province when the incident took place earlier last July.

The Nepalese soldier, who is in his early 20s, apparently made the decision to remove the head in a misunderstanding over the need for DNA evidence of the kill.

He's still inactive reservist until October. Then, baring being called back up, he'll be out. *fingers and toes crossed*

------------

I look at it positively, the cracks are really opening up, and maybe that is a good thing. This country limped along for a long time papering over its divisions with centrist policies, all the while slowly creeping to the left (on most issues), though the right was able to win on some too.

I say - let's air our disagreements. There are fundamental divisions in this country that need to be resolved. I don't think this election will solve it, but I think this election is finally showing that the center cannot hold.

364 Once in a while I read the meandering, FB posts of some aging
(childless) hippie friends I have and their extended family of aging
(childless) hippie friends. These people have learned nothing from life
and have the exact same outlook as college kids. They are clueless as to
the very negative changes taking place all over the country, although
it seems they are aware something is happening (from their karma or
something). Their solution to the gathering storm is to be nicer and
love more all their like- minded friends.. Which will be a great
strategy to stave off and/or prepare what is coming And more music
festivals of course. The ones I know and their friends are just the tip
of the iceberg. There are many millions more just like them.

I'm 68 - I don't know anyone like that. Even in the "Hippy" era nobody ever saw hippies. The only place they ever existed was in very selected parts of California and in media representations. I'll correct that; I'm sure there were/are some in places like Madison WIS and Austin TX - but the rest of the country? No. Hippies were/are as rare Saturday Night Fever Disco Dancers like Tony Manero.

You know, like normal insurance.

His mother was interviewed and she said it wasn't about the money, rather it was about the respect and honor due to her son and his sacrifice. His mother looks to be quite elderly, so it isn't like she is going to benefit greatly from the money other than possibly it will help provide her with care.
