Student Leaks University Quiz to Determine How "Privileged" You Are, And How Often You "Microaggress"

This apparently was part of the course materials for a university course on.... HR.

Yes, apparently colleges now teach you how to be a Human Resources bureaucrat. As if enough time wasn't being wasted in HR, now we're giving college credits in How To Tell People Where the Copy Machine Refills Are.

Like most bullshit fields in need of an actual purpose, this degree in Human Resources -- and serious, are you kidding me? -- is the most easily co-opted by the Social Justice Warriors.

The weakest members of the herd always get the sickest.

English literature and various arts studies -- always lacking an underlying theoretical rigor (which they can't really have, since art is subjective) -- were the first to be destroyed, as the field of literature (at a scholarly level) was infected with one "theory" of literature after another -- ultimately becoming just post-modernist and infected by "critical theory," which is just Marxism without the tedious emphasis on economics.

You don't need a math credit to do "critical theory" of gender. That's why they invented it. To be Marxism for Gurlz.

And so this is now what little Hitler Middle Adulthood members to be are being taught.


"I was told as a white woman it's insulting and a microaggression for me to cover or sing a Rihanna song because I'm not from Barbados," a student who was in the class told me. "I was literally told to go sing the Star-Spangled Banner."

The student, who asked not to be identified, sent me copies of both assignments – including a 100-item checklist to determine how much "privilege" you have....

The student who reached out to me wants to work in human resources ---and the class is mandatory.

"They teach you that if you are not part of the minority you cannot be discriminated against," she said. "A black person cannot be racist to a white person. A female cannot be sexist towards a man because men are the majority."

Here’s a sampling of the 100-question privilege checklist:

· I am white.

· I have never been told I would “burn in hell” for my sexual orientation.

· I still identify as the gender I was born in.

"Still!" Get with the times, brother/sister!

· I work in a salaried job....

· I have had an unpaid internship.

· I don’t know what “Sallie Mae” is.

· I have frequent flier miles....

· My parents are heterosexual....

· I have never been called a terrorist.

· I have never questioned any of my identities....

· I've always had cable.



The useless-idiots-in-training were then asked to judge a "scenario" as to whether a "microagression" speechcrime had taken place. Here's a good one:

· "I think true marriage is between a man and a woman because that's what the Bible says, but I respect everyone's choices." (A woman discussing marriage equality in a classroom discussion).

"That blew my mind," the student told me -- referring to the gay marriage question. "If I'm asked my opinion, I can't say it because it’s offensive?"

The student said there was a "huge" classroom discussion about the issue.

"The professor said if it (your opinion) hurts others you should question those views -- specifically the Bible," she said. "The professor said we should question the Bible and question where those views came from."

Might I question where the professor's views derive from?

And if you're thinking "Well at least they're not teaching this risible white-hating nonsense to middle schoolers," then feller*, have I got some bad news for you.

* I don't mean "feller" as in fellow, as that would be a microagression against Persons of Vage.

I meant "feller" as in "tree-feller." I've always been racist against fellers, and I assume they're always thinking things that are untrue.

They had to engage in one of these in-class "privilege exercises" designed to humiliate and destroy the self-esteem of college freshmen.

The designers of the "exercise" thought they were exceedingly clever by (as in the examples above) phrasing the questions non-racially, but designed to segregate the class by race anyway. The purpose being that at the end of the exercise all the whites are standing at the front together, where they then get condemned as "privileged" and must grovel and apologize.

Well, my friend who grew up poor and white in an inner-city had a life-experience that "flipped the script" (to use leftist terminology) and in every case answered the "wrong" way.

So the exercise went like this:

"If you have ever been bullied or beaten up because of your race, take one step backward."

My white friend takes one step backward, along with many of the black kids. Teacher stops the exercise. "ZF (zombie's friend), did you hear the question correctly? I asked whether or not you had been bullied or beaten up because of your race."

"Well, I was beaten up daily by black kids, because I was white."

Silence.

Exercise continues. "Did you have school history lessons that focused on people who didn't look like you?"

All the black kids step backwards -- including ZF.

Teacher glares. ZF explains: "We had an afro-centric curriculum in (my inner-city school district). All we ever learned about was African-American history."

Silence. Some grumbling.

Exercise continues: "My parents had well-paying jobs." Most white kids step forward. ZF stands still.

Etc. etc.

At the end of the game, ZF was standing way way way even behind the black kids is "most under-priveleged"-territory.

Exercise ruined.

Result: ZF sent to counseling to discuss why he insists on being so "disruptive" in class.

The HR issues where I work are partial duties of the controller and the lesser stuff with an admin clerk. We bring in legal when we need them at a higher end market fee, but it's quick, top notch and cheaper in the long run.

A "human relations theory" class sounds like sociology to me -- they often teach classes that touch the same stuff but are (in my opinion, of course) are less useful because they're all about theory and no practice.

For the love of God, WHY?! HR is something you accidentally fall into, you don't CHOOSE it, am I right? Because the professor was white, and the students were of dusky hue.

Hah! Cold water flat with three families/apartments sharing one toilet! If you forgot to bring toilet paper, you could use the newspaper squares that were spindled on the nail in the wall. We did have our own tub/shower though, which was a large cement utility tub off the kitchen.

284 Herewith my rugby experience to wind down a dead thread.

I was living in NYC and met a guy who played for a rugby club. They had try outs and I made it based on running and jumping ability, not knowledge of the game.

They hadn't invented the internet yet, so I scoured bookstores trying to find out if someone had written down the rules and explained the things. They hadn't. So I played wing ("the right field of rugby" my alleged friend said).

We had Americans, Brits, and Aussie/Kiwis.

The Americans were generally big and strong, sometimes converted football players. The Brits were scrawny little shits who understood the game the way we understand baseball and were excellent.

The Aussies were big and strong and knew the game and also loved pain. Didn't seem to care whether giving or receiving.

I had just moved in with the future Mrs. Bandersnatch and I really couldn't maintain the required drinking and maintain that relationship, so I stopped after a pulled hamstring.

We get out to the field and the opposing team is Samoan. All. Of. Them.

286 I think it's an awful thing for a young person to be so confused. It's even more awful for college professors to provoke them into deeper confusion. It's worse when society bends its most obviously fundamental rules (i.e. gender bender bathrooms) to promote such confusion. It's cruel to then celebrate that confusion and give it prizes like Sports Illustrated Man-Woman-Other Athlete of the year.


A good number of these people are going to wind up dead, either through suicide or substance abuse. The only right thing to do is to only tell them things that are true, and damn the consequences. No more pretending they have a case when there is no case. Lies only lead to destruction.

288 My brief and unremarkable Rugby career ended when some guy who had been a player on the Indiana University Football team put his knee through my stomach and right into my spine. One flight back to Worcester, some hernia surgery, and I was done with the sport as a participant.

"Van Cortlandt park" for a long time was the home of Old Blue, which for years was the best team in NYC and often the best on the East Coast.

Van Cortlandt park is amazing -- arguably the best cross-country course in the East, two public golf courses, every Hispanic nation has a soccer team, several Commonwealth countries play cricket, Gaelic football, and oh yeah, baseball.

Key rule is "offside" The ball itself is a moving line of scrimmage. If you find yourself on the wrong side of the ball that's OK but you can't do anything until you get put back onside.

No blocking.

You have to wrap tackle -- no spearing, which makes no sense if you don't have a helmet. NFL defenders always try to create fumbles and have forgotten how to tackle. Elite rugby players are better at open field tackling.

One of the things I like about my current job is I get to spend a lot of time in the southern hemisphere so I get to watch a lot of rugby. A lot. They have whole stations that just play rugby in places.

I played one year in college when I was done with football but I never really knew the rules. Turns out, I did know most of them cause there aren't that many.

Yep. It's a real gem in the middle of the Bronx. I played softball there for years (girls bar league--Piper's Kilt Pub), and spent many a weekend at Gaelic Park. My youngest ran XC and we went back to Vanny once a year for the Manhattan College (I think) meet. He loved that course.

There are coyotes in the Way Back of Van Cortlandt Park. My sister has seen them on neighboring streets. The coyotes seen in Manhattan and Queens are probably from here; they follow the train tracks
