EMT 3/27/16 We can be Better edition. [krakatoa]

Lot of anger and frustration boiling over last week, obviously.

Let's try to keep everything in perspective though, ok?

Everyone has a limit for what they will vote for in a representative for government at any level. So when that limit is reached, it should be perfectly acceptable to state there is no viable candidate worth your vote.

If you disagree with the reasoning of someone else, please try to do so rationally and without ridicule, or appeals that "no vote for x is a vote for y". That is not an argument, but instead is basically a direct insult that the abstainer's bedrock principles are without value.

You lose absolutely nothing from your argument to refer to the opposing candidate by his or her actual name rather than some silly 6th grade pejorative play on their name. Doing otherwise shuts many ears. Referring to supporters of that candidate in similarly pejorative ways is even worse. We are all individuals, with life experiences and distilled values that inform our opinions. Disrespecting anyone else in response to their stated opinion by calling them a silly name, no matter how clever, is a slur on the very being of that person.

If you reach an impasse, just drop it. Agree to disagree, and move on.

Understand that anger loosens many a tongue from normally firm mooring, and try to forget who started what and who called whom whatever.

It's a new week. You can choose the default state of biting sarcasm, outright insults and encouraging anger with everyone opposed to your opinion; or you can choose to be more respectful, and while disappointed with your adversary on this topic, maintain a civility that is ennobling to all parties in itself.

It's no mystery who I support this cycle. It's no mystery either that I think it's all rather hopeless regardless of who ultimately wins the White House. I'm not immune to angry outbursts. Yes, I have a slightly bigger megaphone for my opinions than the average commenter. But with that, I feel I have more responsibility to be respectful while stating my opinions.

I apologize for every time I have failed, and I do promise that I'm going to endeavor mightily to encourage some respectful dialogue at least from my end.

I'm going to try to be better.

18 I agree with Creeper. Yes, we're trying and it really is difficult. It's like frantically trying to convince someone to get off the train tracks with a train speeding towards them - while handcuffed to them.

This election season is really taking its toll on me. But I'm finding that disengaging, spending less and less time on social media, is healthier for my well-being, both emotionally and physically. And you can't move forward to help save and/or rebuild our communities and our country if we're mortally wounded from the current battle of, unfortunately, mostly friendly fire.

Find like-minded people, regroup, re-energize and soldier on!

Love to all!!

25 Reported at Pam Gellar's site: Second night of rioting by those wonderful, peaceful "immigrants" in Sweden. Setting cars on fire, then attacking police and firefighters when they respond.

Probably won't get reported in any mainstream sites. Can't risk getting the bitter clinging rubes upset about Obama's defiance yesterday -- saying he's determined to bring in another 100,000 "refugees" regardless of what Americans want.

Recall that recent Breitbart report that over 90% of the ME muslims already living here are on food stamps and/or other forms of welfare? Well there was a report yesterday that muzzie refugees make up only 5% of Belgium's population, but account for over 50% of Belgium's welfare pay-outs.

But hey, we can afford another 100,000 long-term welfare dependents, right? We're only $19 trillion in debt, so what's another few billion a year going to matter at this point?

Now you're talking. The one payoff of this event for me. Being Jewish, it doesn't otherwise really figure into my life, though I can appreciate a major portion of the populace regarding with approval a Jew rising from the dead.

28 A Blessed and Happy Easter to the Horde!

I appreciate this blog and all who contribute to it so much, and value all I have learned and the opportunity to vent during this particularly emotional campaign season. The events and effects of recent years have pushed so many of us to lower lows than we have experienced before. I pray that this too will pass, and that with God's grace, we can still restore our beloved country to her special place in this troubled world.
Have hope. We are all still here and Christ has Risen!

29 Open primaries, by and large, suck.

I understand them. Where I grew up was very strongly Republican, so a lot of local elections were between two Republicans and the District Attorney was elected by Republicans in the primary. I get it: the Democrats couldn't vote. Many voters were completely out of the process. Maybe, in cases like this, open primaries advance democracy.

But that's not the case in any presidential race. There's always at least one Democrat who's a viable candidate. There's no reason at all to allow Democrats to vote in Republican primaries. (And vice versa, of course.)

Does anyone have any stats about who won more delegates from Republicans-only primaries? Because when you come right down to it, that guy should be the nominee.

The Democrats couldn't vote because they couldn't be bothered to make a case for a Democrat candidate. Tough shit. Candidates who were for all means and purposes Democrats have run as Republicans in strongly Republican regions and won, and vice versa. A really good example is Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Most of his predecessors in HUAC were Democrats back to its founding. I've seen more than one analysis of his political career and policies that came to the conclusion that his sole reason for being a Republican is that choice is what it took to get elected in Wisconsin at the time.

Tell me about it. That's how we wound up with ole Thad Cockroach in MS bein' reelected. He and his co-conspirators ran ads warning the Dem strongholds that if Thad didn't get the nod, their welfare was gonna get taken away.

So they begged for Dem votes in the R primary runoff, and got enough to come from behind over McDaniels. Le sigh.

Really, I'm sick of the two party system anyhow. I have been, for a long time. A binary choice in a US election is usually a choice of shit sandwiches. And while this is playing out to an extent in the R preezy run, it is also true for the Dems. Why else would Teh Bern, a full blown socialist, be giving Shrill such a run for the money? And Gary Johnson, the L candidate, recently polled at 11% in a theoretical DT/HC matchup.

Different flavors of shit is this year's style.

From this date in 1944, after a several day hiatus with no entries.

27 Mar, 1944 - The EZ Dog Journal
Just to show how close those things can come, a plane from 1st Armd was hit by a 155 today. Both men killed; plane total wreck.

155 = 155 mm gun (American 155mm Long Tom most likely)

The plane in question was probably a small observation plane. With artillery shells whizzing all over the place, occasionally an airplane and a projectile tried to occupy the same space at the same time, with deadly results in this case. Total fluke.

In the last previous diary entry EZ Dog described hearing a shell whizzing by the Cub when he was up on an observation flight on March 25. Close call.

I think Sanders is getting traction because we have a substantial number of voters now who have no idea what the USSR was beyond some movies that do nothing to inform of the real life problem it represented. Also, for them, China has always been like a big corporation rather than a Communist state, so they see it as more right wing repression than left.

Not every young person is so ill informed but far too matter for the exceptions to matter. When I was in my early twenties I far better read than average but if asked to offer an effective explanation of why the Nazis were bad, aside from the whole trying to wipe the preceding generation of my family from existence, I couldn't. Other than having a desire to murder my ethnic group, I didn't have a decent grasp of what they actually stood for or why it was going to be a bad form of government in the long term. I had a fair idea of why Marxism and all his myriad followers isms were bad, had read Animal Farm several times for my own edification beyond the school requirement, but it was pretty damn vague compared to what I understand today.

This is why I'll state again that the minimum voting age is far too low. Not all young people vote badly but most of the ones making the choice I prefer don't really have a well considered reason why.

87 Good Easter Morning to all the Horde! He is Risen - He is Risen Indeed! Allelujah.

On this most glorious day, here's "The Easter Song", sung and played by the late Keith Green:

bit.ly/25qLUt4

"The angel up on the tombstone
said He is risen, just as He said.
Quickly now! Go tell His disciples
that Jesus Christ is no longer dead!
Joy to the world - He is Risen - Allelujah"

(Some of you may be familiar with Keith Green, a child prodigy who appeared on "I've Got a Secret" at age eleven, a fierce and relentless musician who, when he came to believe in Christ, gave up his career at CBS and raucously spread the gospel thru his songs, during the latter part of the Jesus People Movement. He died in a plane crash in 1982, at the age of 28, along with two of his baby children.)

Side note - this is the song I picked for the Processional at my wedding rhis summer. I'm not sure what the reaction will be from the other boaters on the lake, but my wish is to proclaim the gospel loud and clear. How can I not?

98 I too agree with your post regarding mutual civility & respect for opposing viewpoints and those expressing them.
That said howver...I think your point about, you vote for X you're really casting a vote for Y, and is insulting to your honorable opponent is a bit of a leap.
Actions have consequences. Don't wear a searbelt bc it's an affront to your civil liberties, etc. okay but that action (refusal to belt up) "could" have severe consequences if you are in a head on collision. If you do X then you are courting Y. This doesn't insult your personal beliefs in civil liberty, democracy, personal choice, etc. It merely states there exists, not as a fact but rather a high probability, that your action will incur unwanted consequences.
We all make decisions based upon suppositions regarding the consequences, otherwise Darwin's Rules for Living would have killed us off long ago. I don't see how pointing out the probable consequences of another honorable opponent's actions ( vote) is insulting, belittling or in any way a threath to their Self.
You can debate or reject my reasoning regarding the probability of such consequences creating another line of discussion with said honorable opponent; but as long as I refrain from " poopyhead" or other slurs and name calling I perceive no fault in the reply.

Thank you for your time and attention to this comment

P.S. There is a reason they use such hifalutin language like "honorable opponent" snd "estimed member of the opposition" in Congress and the UK Parliment. It eliminates foul, angry and heated exchanges while simultaneously raising the level of insulting discourse to an art form. See Winston Churchill on that one. He could insult an honorable opponent so artfully the poor SOB he was addressing and the rest of Parliment would give him a standing ovation at the end.
I welcome responses from my "honorable co-commenters" ?

136 fellow soldier, serving in the same unit as the soldier who was filmed on Thursday killing an apparently incapacitated terrorist , has revealed to army investigators what the soldier told him before the incident.

A terrorist who stabs our friend must die, the shooting soldier who is now being held in prison allegedly said to his comrade.

The soldier who heard this statement told investigators that he tried to calm his friend down, explaining to him that the IDF soldier wounded in the knife attack in Hebron was only lightly wounded. His efforts did not succeed, as the soldier subsequently opened fire and killed the Palestinian.

The source said that an army commander, before the soldier opened fire, checked the neutralized terrorist to see if he was wearing an explosives belt.

Even in the video clip of the incident this commander can be seen standing next to the terrorist, the source said.

The guidelines for explosive belts are clear. Soldiers know them well. First, the area must be cleared to avoid loss of life if the explosives detonate. In this case there were officers, commanders and there were many things that needed to be done on the ground before opening fire. Even if a terrorist moves a little, you dont shoot him in the head. There are clear guidelines on this, the source said.

The investigation also revealed that after the incident the commander of the unit asked the soldier why he shot the Palestinian. The commander told investigators that the suspect answered that the Palestinian deserved to die.

While I feel for this Soldier and basically agree with him the terrorist would better off dead, he is in deep shit. Sigh

Things could be worse. There was that time I was at the gym. I got out of the shower and discovered someone had broken into my locker and stolen my purse and all my clothes. Since I'm so thrifty of resources, I had only a little hand-towel to cover myself. I had to beg another girl to go out to the front desk and get them to bring me some crap t-shirt and shorts or something from their Lost and Found so I could get out to save my car and my life (phone in purse, keys, ID with address, credit cards, cash). That was a very troublesome mess to get out of, and people stared at me in horror as I recounted it (repeatedly -- for the gym people, the cops, my co-workers when I got in late, etc) but I reminded myself and them, "At least I'm not a prisoner in a North Korean labor camp." I meant it, too.

150 I wrote this on yesterday's EMT, but it seems to go better today in the new "Love Thy Fellow Moron" atmosphere:

Eh.

My thoughts on the last week are (yeah, I'm a moron) pretty simple.

Most conservatives, and hence most GOP voters, arrived at our political philosophy through thought and logic.

Most probably started out as a libtard of some flavor, and noticed the world didn't actually work the way our betters were telling us,

and by expanding our thinking arrived at conservatism.

So-

Yelling and screaming about how Trump is a nazi or fascist or racist or insane-

simply doesn't comport with the reality of the head of a successful multi-million dollar business.

Nor does all the silly preacher, anti-christian talk about Cruz.

It's all completely unconvincing unless you're willing to let yourself be drawn into some emotional connection to a frikkin' politician.

As for me- the way I game it out, is this:

If we go to the convention with no majority winner, we get the GOPe pick.

No ifs, ands or buts.

Please, check out previous Brokered Conventions. And check your own memories of rule changes at the 2012 convention-

they were all done by voice vote with Boehner calling the outcomes as "the ayes have it" even when the ayes were clearly out voted.

I want Cruz, but if he can't do it.

Then, I want Trump and believe he needs to be supported in the primaries.

I believe Ace and others have completely lost sight of how important it is that the GOPe lose this time around-

they will never ever ever have to take the conservative movement seriously again if they don't lose this time.

As Milton Friedman said (more or less)- It's not about electing the right people so much as it is-

providing the disincentives for politicians to be complete assholes to their voters.

That's how I game it out.

YMMV.

157 I've really never seen anything like it.

It's like we went to battle with the liberal moonbats and when we came out we started fighting like them, focusing less on facts and logic and instead given to invectives and focusing on emotions.

I mean I can't start to count the combined total of "I'm over it", "I'm sick of", "I'll just..", "it's all over", etc, etc.

Damn people, put on your damn boots and grab your muskets, there is a war going on and y'all are gonna have to start acting like men and women instead of bemoaning the atrocities of war and the shitty MREs.

Commenting on a blog is not the same as doing something if you aren't the blogger. If you aren't bringing information and strategy, you are basically just filling out the comment card at the local Hardee's demanding more sausage in your biscuit n' gravy.

It's for this reason I have always preferred political discussions take place on a barstool or in the back room of a church. Words are chosen more carefully when your insults and pejoratives carry with it the potential of a fist full of retort and the proposed actions of a meeting of minds is more likely to accomplish a goal when a man shakes your hand and agrees to act with his own name and honor at stake.

164 Caller with Arabic accent threatens family of soldier who killed wounded terrorist, reveals their private information.

As the wounded soldier was being carried away by paramedics, one of the neutralized terrorists began to move, leading several people at the scene to express concern. The terrorist was wearing a heavy sweater despite the hot weather, often a tell-tale sign of a concealed explosive device.

One soldier fired a single shot at the terrorist, killing him. The soldier involved in the incident claimed that he feared the terrorist was carrying a suicide bomb belt and was attempting to activate it.

The incident was recorded by an Arab activist in the B’Tselem organization. A video, filmed at a distance and lacking audio, was released by the group, showing the soldier firing at the terrorist.

A second video, however, filmed on the scene and including audio, lends some credence to the soldier’s claim that he feared the terrorist was carrying an explosive device.

In the recording at least two people can be heard expressing concern that the wounded terrorist still presented a threat.

“The terrorist is still alive!” one man can be heard shouting. “Don’t let him attack us!”

A second individual responded that the terrorist appeared to be armed with a bomb, warning others to steer clear.

“He looks like he has an explosive pack, watch out. Until the bomb squad comes, don’t touch him.”

I don't think a "viable alternative" is in the GOPs mind at all. I think the real problem is generational: the Boomers (I was born in '64, so technically I'm looking at me) have fooked us. The "Greatest Generation" has given us the worst generation. There's waaay too much money for the elites to have in the huholy iron triangle of Wall Street, Media and DC. 183 So a thought on the name calling. How about we ask people to define their terms? For example, GOPe. Define?

Rubio was the conservative darling when running against Charlie Crist and has a lifetime rating from the ACU of 96. Pretty conservative, really. He has become the "establishment" pick by virtue of being wrong on one major issue. Jeb Bush was a pretty conservative governor of Florida but became "establishment" by virtue of his positions on a couple key issues. National Review was tarred with the "establishment" moniker immediately they came out in unified opposition to the Trump candidacy. So is "establishment" another word for "opposes the guy I want"? It was this infighting that allowed Trump to vault to the lead as the rest of the field argued with each other about who truly represented the GOP, ignoring Trump's obvious flaws wrt conservatism.

The progressive left has managed to change the direction of the country by putting aside their differences in pursuit of a big government, socialist agenda. Conservatives split over whether a specific policy is truly conservative, rather than focusing on the concept of limited government. A general adoption of the "no true Scotsman" fallacy which doesn't allow us to all come together to each shrink the power of government in our areas of interest, benefiting us all in the long run.

The only good news is that the progressives, having moved the Overton window significantly to the left, are now starting to implode a bit as their constituent groups are reaching the point where their policies of group identity are starting to pit different interest groups against each other. Hard to resolve the issue of whether Muslim bakers must bake gay wedding cakes instead of throwing the happy couple off a rooftop. Unfortunately we on the right don't seem poised to take much advantage.

Simple statistical analysis of the data tells them those under 25 are greatly over-represented in collisions and other kinds of mishaps. It's a fairly straightforward numbers game without any neurology needed. Like noticing lung cancer rate among smokers decades before the mechanism was found and somewhat understood.

Anecdotal experience tends to back it up. My one really serious car accident that I might have avoided if I was older happened when I was twenty, IIRC. (Oddly, I'm having difficulty recalling exactly whether it was 1982 or 1983.) The number of stupid car accidents among my teenage peers defies numbering. About 12 years ago my sister had her Suburu smashed by a teenage girl in a brand new Jeep given to her just days before. Memorable is that the girl had the same name as my sister and was so hysterical my sister, the aggrieved party, had to calm her down long enough to call her parents.

Finally, in October of 1999, a close friend of mine who was like a younger brother, was coming over the Sepulveda Pass and lost control, smashing into a tree and killing himself immediately. The passenger was somebody I didn't know who got out with a lot of bruises but was in such a mental state as too be unable to discuss much of anything coherently for many hours.

I've always had a lot of bad feeling because I first introduced him to that stretch of road as a fun alternative to the 405, and the circumstances that had him there that night instead of elsewhere involved some bad communication over where he was going to stay while in CA. He had graduated from UCLA a few months ago and given up his Westwood apartment but wanted to return to the area to play in a baseball league and look for jobs in the game industry where he could apply his shiny new degree in Japanese Language. He had gotten the impression he'd be able to stay at my house during this time and this caught me by surprise when he arrived. Worse, I was out of town working in Miami for the week when the accident happened. Nobody could bring themselves to tell me until I'd gotten home.

Might a more mature Dan have driven the same way that night? Who knows? The numbers say a few more years on him would have improved the odds a great deal.

191 Here is my philosophy of voting:

I would only vote for the candidate I wanted to win. If you really can't stand the Republican nominee (whoever it turns out to be), there are options like voting third party or writing in your cat's name. Staying home is also a legitimate choice if you can't tolerate any of the candidates.

Having been on the receiving end of it more times than I can count, I have always rejected the argument that "refusing to vote for X is the same as voting for Y". No it isn't. Not voting for X is not voting for X. The only way I vote for Y is by, you know, actually voting for Y. Sure, not voting for X increases Y's chances of winning, but it's not the same as casting a vote for Y.

There is a not insignificant chance that I will be in a position to use that argument myself this year, but I promise not to.

The only way I could see voting for Hillary is if you truly believe that Trump would be a worse President than her. In that case, go for it. But I can't wrap my mind around that way of thinking.

Leaving the Presidential spot blank and voting for downticket races is another option. In fact, I routinely leave some downticket spots blank if I don't know anything about either candidate or if a candidate is running unopposed.

I would never stay home and not vote. But since voting is not mandatory, it's still a choice. I wish more LIVs would exercise it. It's not a choice I would make, but it's *a* choice.

Posted by: Tradd at March 27, 2016 10:48 AM (EQcBC)

197 All well and good except for the comment about how "not voting for X is the same as voting for Y". Abstaining from voting is an affermative action that can favor one candidate over another. Just don't get your feelings hurt when someone calls you on it.

Posted by: Dogbert at March 27, 2016 11:03 AM (fz1Nv)

198 Abstaining from voting is a perfectly logical and reasonable choice which doesn't suffer from any need to be "called on it".

When a politician receives your vote just because of his/her party affiliation and not their record or clearly established policy preferences, then why on Earth *should* they care about commitment to policy preferences? They've got your vote anyway. This reasoning abandons the idea of incentives.

This "vote no matter what" thinking is exactly what has led to a GOPe that is completely unresponsive to its base. Oddly enough, it's exactly what it looks like on the Donk side too. But being collectivists - and much more prone to compromising core principles than the Right - they'll vote in lockstep anyway.

The bottom line is that voting for X is voting for X; voting for Y is voting for Y; and any other formulation is just a cheap emotional shot because you don't approve of someone else's actions.

Most conservatives, and hence most GOP voters, arrived at our political philosophy through thought and logic.

Most probably started out as a libtard of some flavor, and noticed
the world didn't actually work the way our betters were telling us,

and by expanding our thinking arrived at conservatism.
-------------------------------

Well said, fake. And that's why it's so important to the libtards to send "everyone" to college for free. They want to make their little Leftard Indoctrination Camps mandatory to keep as many useful idiots on the plantation as possible.

206 @108

Opposition to Rubio is s bit more complex than just one major issue. For many, not only is it THE major issue, but the way that Rubio was totally taken advantage of by the Dems and the Gope really did not speak well of his political skill.

In other words, I thought he was a great guy and in more civil times would've been a great candidate. But in the post-Obama cutthroat situation we have now, I see him getting rolled again and again.

I know it's extremely dangerous to say we need someone vicious or Machiavellian enough, and I respect people's objections to both trump and Cruz in those counts (yes, a major objection I've heard yo Cruz is that he's sneaky and slick and out for himself...this would be the major attack if trump weren't around to draw that criticism), but we've seen what being civil and genteel will do: McCain & Romney.

And I second the comment above about how the GOPe MUST lose this round, or we'll never be listened to again.

Posted by: JeremiadBullfrog at March 27, 2016 12:40 PM (YRkaH)

207 Jeremiad there are other flavors of opposition to Rubio. Some were never impressed to start with. Glib city councilman mouthing hackneyed platitudes, no gravitas, etc. Useful in defeating Crist, no more.

And the Gang of Eight thing is far more damning than simply showing lack of toughness or some kind of naivete. Rubio and his people knew exactly what was going on, they knew exactly how outrageous and disastrous the proposals were.

To this day, few seem to know how jaw-dropping this thing was. It was audacious even by La Raza standards.

I don't see Rubio as all that bright on substance, but he's not dim enough not to have realized what he was pushing. He wasn't "rolled", for whatever idiotic reasons he was fully aboard and paddling hard.

Then of course there was/is the laughable dishonesty over the whole thing. Ludicrous, unintelligent, artless, bumbling duplicity and two-faced behavior works for Obama, as his supporters do not bring any intelligent adult discrimination to the table to begin with, there is no press, and the broader electorate is both dumbed down and unserious.

Yes we all have agency for our own actions, but being goaded and prodded has a one-way ratcheting effect, and it's hard to disengage, especially once one gets emotional about personal attacks. It's not in the horde's nature to back off.

-----it all starts at the top though doesn't it?

210 ONE EVENING, AN ELDERLY
CHEROKEE BRAVE TOLD HIS
GRANDSON ABOUT A BATTLE THAT
GOES ON INSIDE PEOPLE.

HE SAID "MY SON, THE BATTLE IS
BETWEEN TWO 'WOLVES' INSIDE US ALL.
ONE IS EVIL. IT IS ANGER,
ENVY, JEALOUSY, SORROW,
REGRET, GREED, ARROGANCE,
SELF-PITY, GUILT, RESENTMENT,
INFERIORITY, LIES, FALSE PRIDE,
SUPERIORITY, AND EGO.

THE OTHER IS GOOD.
IT IS JOY, PEACE LOVE, HOPE SERENITY,
HUMILITY, KINDNESS, BENEVOLENCE,
EMPATHY, GENEROSITY,
TRUTH, COMPASSION AND FAITH."

THE GRANDSON THOUGH ABOUT
IT FOR A MINUTE AND THEN ASKED
HIS GRANDFATHER:

"WHICH WOLF WINS?..."

THE OLD CHEROKEE SIMPLY REPLIED,
"THE ONE THAT YOU FEED"

I don't see Rubio as all that bright on substance, but he's not dim enough not to have realized what he was pushing. He wasn't "rolled"
----------------------
Agreed. His insanity plea is rejected. He revealed his reasoning when he told Sean Hannity that once these socialist-leaning tribalists were legalized, they would "fall in love with America," meaning they would, en masse, reject the free stuff and revenge fantasies of the left for the badly-messaged and barely-messaged advantages of small government of the right. It would have been hilarious to see President Rubio import them by the tens of millions and then see him deprived of a second term by a 20-point spread thanks to their votes.

213 There's a few extremely nasty, repetitive and childish Cruz supporters around here. Lots of cheap shots from them, repeated over and over (and over) and they sound like little brats doing it. I can now tell one sentence into the post that it's one of them and I just go straight to the handle and skip it.

I'm putting this here because it's dead thread. Although it's not much different in terms of frequency per thread than what's been going on here the last 6 weeks or so, these few have clearly been emboldened by the Blog Stance (tm), and the chief result is that their tone has become even more immature and full of lib-like projection. I'm not complaining, it will pass. But I won't be silent about it.

214 It's all well and good to call for an Easter truce. But the reality is that ace will be back to his aggressively hysterical anti-Trump trolling.

215 I'll bet ace's traffic is down a bit over the last couple weeks.

216 i like both Trump and Cruz...somewhat. Both of them frustrate me, because just when I lean towards one, that one says something that causes me to lean towards the other.

Trump is a loose cannon, but I really like the way that he has exposed the establishment and the way he drives the anti Trumpers absolutely insane. It's fun to watch.

Cruz is brilliant and also drives the establishment nuts. His intellectual acumen is great. He comes across as a bit too wonkish and somewhat me-toish, IMHO.

Both have been very good at exposing the underlying problems in the GOPe. Until this election, I didn't realize the extent that the GOPe had lost touch with the base. Even the so-called conservative media has been, more or less, an embarrassment.

Who knew that NRO is actually a liberal apologist for RINO squishes? Or that FOX has some serious "Cindy Crowley" issues. Not to mention some of the two-facedness of Redstate. Or that some conservatives seem to despise the freedom of speech as much their more left leaning brethren.

It has all been an eye opening experience for me.

217 It is a bit frustrating to me to see Trump and Cruz fans accusing each other of doing the same things that they are also doing.

Special snowflakes are supposed to be from the leftosphere, not from the tough hobo-hunting, valu-rite swizzling, SJW looting moron horde.

We should be busy culling the hobo herd and hunting other SJWs, and not shooting our friends and allies because we have differing opinions on how this great work is to be accomplishes (note the Oxford comma).

219 May I say as an Hot Air refugee, that I'm enjoying the quality of the posters here? There are fewer trolls here, by far.

And by the way, I always try to refer to the candidates by their proper title: Mr. Trump, Sen. Cruz, Gov. Kasich, etc. It also leavens the argument, if one can use G-rated terms to convey your disgust. Shouting "Horsefeathers!" is equally lucid, without the distraction of going "blue".

220 Oh, my God: 65 Christians were massacred and over 300 grievously wounded on this Easter Sunday in Lahore, Pakistan, by the Religion of Mayhem and Hate.

No words, no words.

It's on Yahoo News ("News for Yahoos") which is a leftwing nutbag group, but at least they posted it.

Pray for the victims. The moslems deliberately timed it to murder as many Christians as possible on the holiest day of the Christian year.
