Milo Yiannopolous Speaks at the University of Pittsburgh to Tell Students They Are Intolerant Babies Who Cry at Disagreement, and They... Start Crying About Disagreement Like Intolerant Babies

Apparently we've gone from the code that men shouldn't cry to "men should cry even harder than little babies."

More than 15 students expressed their concerns at the meeting, focusing on issues of diversity and inclusion at Pitt, particularly in terms of race and sexual identity.

Marcus Robinson, president of Pitt's Rainbow Alliance, said after leaving the lecture on Monday, he felt unsafe on campus for the first time.

"So many of us shared in our pain. I felt I was in danger, and I felt so many people in that room were in danger. This event erased the great things we've done," Robinson said. "For the first time, I'm disappointed to be at Pitt."

Robinson suggested that the University should have provided counselors in a neighboring room to help students who felt "invalidated" or "traumatized" by the event.

...

"This is more than hurt feelings, this is about real violence. We know that the violence against marginalized groups happens every day in this country. That so many people walked out of that [event] feeling in literal physical danger is not alright," Claire Matway, a social work and urban studies major, said.

The group that invited Milo even acceded to the rule on campus that such events bear a "Trigger Warning" on fliers. They had the trigger warning. But the easily triggered came anyway, precisely to be triggered.

You should click on the link and scan down. You'll know it when you see it.

Meanwhile, three black female students made up a story about being racially assaulted on a bus, and it turns out... they racially assaulted a white student, and made up the racial assault claim.

The New York Times curiously pre-denounces any conservatives who might point to this episode as emblematic of a problem.

Are we not men? A commenter brings up the word "devolution."

I never understood Devo's schtick about devolution. Seemed to be an impossible thing to me. We'd always evolve, socially and technologically and economically. We wouldn't devolve.

The idea of mankind just devolving into lower animals was... a hateful idea.

But it's exactly what's happening.

But here's the thing: they're not really crying and they're not really babies.

They know perfectly well that they're not in danger. They know that some woman or fabulous gentleman or even Mark Steyn is not a "threat" to them. They're not "really" crying; they're acting aggressively, using victimhood as a weapon to threaten and intimidate.

They know the proximate effect of their victimhood is to make the Boys in Blue crack down on their enemies.

15 I really believe Milo's rise is apart of a real movement in millennials and american men in general to really tear apart this anti masculinity movement in the country. All people know of millennials is what they see, which is the loud mouth activists but I truly believe the actual makeup of the generation is the same as the previous ones, it's only that the men have been neutered to some extent and the ones who believe in old school masculinity have been silenced for fear of having their futures ruined and being ostracized. I believe people like milo are opening their eyes and might just make something of the generation.

Ace, son was walking into a classroom a couple of weeks ago, and a Snowflake freaked over his coffee mug and wanted to know if he was "allowed" to bring it to class.

It had a Scary Gun on it. Was part of a donation to son's campus vet group from Black Rifle Coffee Co. (which is awesome).
Son said, "The only way this mug could hurt anyone is if I beat someone over the head with it."

87 73 The only way to even begin changing this is for the administrators to show some guts, which would require parents/donors to make things very *cough* clear. As in, sending kids to vocational programs and not buying college football tickets.
Not going to happen. Secular materialism is too seductive, and nobody wants to sacrifice their little sweeties' future internships.

Weak, and a double standard. I *hate* double standards.

It's really true: in the 60's when liberals weren't dominating anywhere, free speech was the highest virtue. Sacrosanct. Now that liberals dominate? Only acceptable speech may be permitted, and the excuse is "safety".

"Safety is the tyrants tool, for who can be against safety?" What is the original form of that quote and who is believed to have said it first?

All the conservative commentators are getting their rocks off mocking Millennial special snowflakes for being crybabies.

But here's the thing: they're not really crying and they're not really babies.

They
know perfectly well that they're not in danger. They know that some
woman or fabulous gentleman or even Mark Steyn is not a "threat" to
them. They're not "really" crying; they're acting aggressively, using
victimhood as a weapon to threaten and intimidate.

They know the proximate effect of their victimhood is to make the Boys in Blue crack down on their enemies.

She didn't last one month. She was supposed to help me on one of my projects and had a bad attitude about it and of course ended up not being useful.

This same RUDE person also tried to underhandedly get me to incriminate my male coworker for some imagined offense during her interview. (I was on the phone and nothing offensive happened.) So she was offended yet she still took the job.

After I found out what she was trying to do, I told her in no uncertain terms that she should not involve me in any of her crap.

She ended up suing them before the EEOC. Apparently, I and other women at my job had been working under hostile conditions but I guess we were not bright enough to notice. I think at the time about half the consultants were wonen.

This is a very very STEM field.

I'm so glad she's gone.

It doesn't even mean "change", really. It just describes a system where the entities procreate, have some sort of heritability and their survival is limited by the the competition for resources (the environment's fitness test). Things could change or could remain static. It all depends on the entities populating the system and the resources available.

But you are certainly correct that evolution does not mean "advancement" (even though that's how most use it).

Bingo. Eliminate government "student aid" and colleges will have to reduce tuition to what people can actually afford. Then there won't be as much money to pay for "studies" professors.

Decades ago it used to be possible to "work your way through college" by doing such things as waiting tables, delivering pizzas, or summer jobs in construction. Students could earn enough money to pay for tuition and room and board, living a fairly Spartan existence which, get this, gave them time to concentrate on their studies. They also got an introduction to the world of work, and menial work at that. We discussed the benefits of that kind of experience the other day.

In danger from what? In danger from whom? One guy gives a speech and their whole world is torn apart? I guess that they have lived in such a bubble of affirmation that they have never heard anything but effusive praise. Whatever 'great things' had been done, they must've been pretty fragile if they get completely demolished by one guy speaking for an hour.

I gopt temporarily banned once because I was using the Opera browser and its "turbo" function (which compresses the pages for phones so people don't run up their data use). It turned out that Opera was running all of the pages through a proxy server of theirs and that proxy's IP was banned here (likely because some idiot was using Opera and causing trouble). Once I turned off the turbo on the Opera browser my pages stopped going through the proxy and everything was back to normal. This is the sort of thing that could be happening with you posting from work. Check the IP you are at and see if it's a general proxy server used by the browser. If so, then that should be easy to fix.

I told Maet about it (I posted about the issue in an ONT) and later pointed out that this problem can be avoided if Pixy uses the "HTTP-FORWARDED" header IP instead of the reported one ... but I don't think anyone cared.

Stop ceding power to them. They are frauds

This isn't new. Ayn Rand said precisely that about the Berkeley Free Speech Movement way back in 1964.

330 I think students, faculty and the administrations must stop treating thier complaints seriously

My guess is that from faculty and administration, the response is a mix of

Sympathy and agreement with their "cause"
Fear of lawsuits and protests
Anger of parents and withdrawal of attendees
Drawing attention to their acceptance criteria which is well below alleged standards

333 295 I think that's because culture and society doesn't return to a nice equilibrium. That large group that's been consistently pushed to the extremes, when pushed to it's limit, snaps back even harder in the other direction.

335 "Simple concept Ace.... when you make everything too safe, then you take Darwin and survival of the fittest out of the equation."

Others have mentioned WWII, but it's pretty much the case for all of history that existential threats were just over the horizon.

Hell, even those of us too young for WWII or Vietnam grew up knowing that the Sovs could decide to cook all of us off at any time without warning. How's that for "feeling unsafe"? It's obviously not in the same league as a flaming gay guy saying things you don't agree with, but it was sobering nonetheless.

Maybe the extreme pussification began with the collapse of the Soviet Union? It would be interesting to do a study to compare pre- and post-USSR attitudes.

My dad, who is one of the most brilliant people I have ever known, joined Mensa, and left shortly thereafter. The thought they were a bunch of elitist stuffed shirts, and in his estimation, they weren't even that smart.

342 121 My husband pretty much hires veterans as his IT guys.

No feelz to deal with.

Every one of them is a combat vet, as well. Smart and tough.

I just wrote an editorial in one of the trade magazines I edit pushing just that. A blue collar field having trouble finding technicians and drivers who, after a few years, would be doing quite well indeed. Millennials don't think high paying work with some degree of independence, new experiences, problem solving and challenge are "cool." Hire vets. Some shitheads just like the rest of society but by and large your golden.

Also, just had a laugh with a woman PR person calling me and setting up a client interview I was working on. She was having trouble typing the confirmation email because she had a broken elbow (pre orthopod visit) but needed to get this done. I said she must not be a Millennial since a sniffle usually grinds them to a halt. She had a great laugh and said she's been around plenty of that. I know there are some great Millennial out there, but for a lot of their peers do seem to be more the rule than the exception.

Yeah they are. These guys aren't pulling some double secret switcheroo
with a higher purpose. They really are the whiny bitches they are
acting like. Because for their entire life they've had helicopter mom
always there to make sure nothing bad ever happens to her baybay

I'll concede that *some* of these people, their voices amplified by the universality of Twitter, really have psychiatric problems, especially those documented ad nauseum (literally) by R Stacey McCain.

But people who are legitimately scared and threatened don't shout down, disrupt, agitate and threaten singular people whom they know very well are not going to "physically" (they like that word) do anything to them. They certainly don't *turn out to a speech* by this person to perform their agitprop.

Those are just run of the mill leftists, doing what leftists have *wished* they could do on campuses for 60 years. They're *empowered* and given the means to silence their enemies by the Specialness Cult, but that's a quite different from being legitimately afraid. They're calling "Help! Threat! Police!" because in 2016 that summons a police officer, if not the President of your University, to eject your foe in disgrace. They're wielding power given to them to crush their enemies, in the same way that they've been doing wherever they can since 1917.

351 These poor fucks are evolving. Not devolving. No real man would have survived behaving like these college cunts. Fifty years ago they would have had good sense beaten into them by 10. One hundred they would have had it beaten in by 5. One thousand they would have been beaten to death or just left to die.

No. This is not devolving. Theses fucks are evolving to a pitiful, womanly, cunt-like, shallow end of the gene pool that can't survive.
