More: Young Female Democrats "Perplexed" By Hillary Clinton's Claim That They Should Support Her Just Because She's a Woman

I know I covered this basic idea earlier but it keeps popping up. Seems to be worth mentioning again.

Also, I forgot to mention two stories from the weekend.

First, Gloria Steinem said that young women are supporting Bernie Sanders to meet boys.

That has to be the most sexist thing ever. Seriously! She's claiming these little girls have nothing go on in their heads, no "agency," no concern other than meeting some cute (?) liberal boys.

She said this on the Bill Maher show.

Asked why the former secretary of state isn't doing better among young women, Steinem said females typically don’t start taking politics seriously until they get older.

"When you're young, you're thinking, 'Where are the boys?' The boys are with Bernie," Steinem added.

Maher was immediately taken aback by Steinem's comment.

"Now if I said that -- 'Yeah, they're for Bernie 'cause that's where the boys are' — you'd swat me," Maher said.

"No, I wouldn't," Steinem fired back.

Yes you would.

She claims now that her clear-as-polished-crystal statement was merely "misinterpreted," and she apologizes for your misinterpretation.

Vinegary old crow Madeleine Albright then declared: "“There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other" at a Clinton rally. This stinking, cheesy discharge of a statement is a claim she's been making since 2008, so, these foul cows figure, it's "nothing new" and therefore completely unobjectionable.

In an unrelated note, Mein Kampf was published in 1931.

With this noxious stink of special pleading and straight-up Gender Superiority politics a-swirl, the Daily Beast interviewed female Sanders supporters, who say they just don't understand this truly bizarre claim that Gals Gotta Stick Together, even if they disagree on fundamental points.

"[Hillary is] confused about what feminism means, she thinks feminism just means female empowerment only, it means a lot more than that," said Ainsley-Aude Croteau, 24, of Durham, New Hampshire. "Feminism is gender equality, I think she's trying to appeal to young women voters by shouting feminism in our faces, but were not one-track-minded people."

Croteau was one of nearly a dozen women interviewed by The Daily Beast who attended the Sanders rally on Sunday afternoon in a community college gymnasium. They were all genuinely perplexed by the idea that Clinton deserved their support solely based on her gender.

Another young woman called Hillary's emails "wicked shady."

Croteau is given the last word:

"Bernie doesn't treat us like we're children, he treats us like we are adults. He doesn't try to talk down to us with the feminism thing," she said. "It's not a girl power thing, it's a gender equality power thing."

This Hillary Clinton thing might really not be happening.

Then again, if she is the nominee, I expect all of these Social Justice Warrioresses to be parroting #WarOnWomen like Stepford Voters.

Et Tu, Debbie? Debbie Wasserman-Schultz' statement, intended to be about Carly Fiorina -- that "just because you're a woman doesn't mean you're good for women" -- gets a new airing in light of women's rejection of Hillary.

Dead Heat Nationally: Last week a poll put the national race at a dead heat, 45-42.

Now another poll puts it at the same dead heat, this time, 48-45.

Oh and speaking of cancer, and fuck cancer with the Warcock outfitted with a flaming cougar condom, cancer is not a motherfucking political issue you worthless pieces of shit who are turning it to such. My value as a person is not my vagina. I am not a mewling quim who is in desperate need of Daddy to take care of me because I am too feeble minded and weak to do so myself. I am not a talking gash who exists solely to be manipulated by being threatened that oh noes the Republicans hate my lady parts by the same party that is, as a practical matter, enforcing blasphemy laws on behalf of a religion that will cut off my clitoris. Let's not mention cutting off my head because I have the temerity to appreciate other ladies' lady parts.

Every single Democrat who believes that the only thing I value as a woman is abortion needs to be punched in the face by me. Fuck you. Fuck you sideways with a pineapple. It's shockingly sexist and pathetic and disgusting.

67 I said it in the last thread: Feminism is destroying Hillary's chances.

They're trying to appeal to young women who were indoctrinated into feminism from high school, but especially college.

Young women especially are told to "follow your dreams" and not worry about whether that will get you a job. So they go to expensive private schools and major in Womens' Studies because it's fun or progressive or whatever little minds convince themselves is important.

They are also trained to have disdain for men. Or at least that they should have sky-high expectations. Today's college women figure they have 10 more years after college to get married. Who cares, they can be free to determine their own destiny.

Yeah, Gloria Steinem can decry marriage and men and turn around and marry a rich guy because she was hot. Most are not hot.

Yeah, yeah, it's sexist to say that women should trap a man while she's young and stay at home so she can raise kids and all that. But for nearly all of them, that's what they want. Or at least, that's what they regret not having when they're older.

They're in debt up to their pink hairline, perpetually lonely, perpetually angry, and uneducated despite endless schooling.

That schooling makes them think that they should be part of the ruling class, not being an office drone making exactly what a French lit major ought to make.

Of course a socialist will appeal to them. Socialism rewards suckups and social status, not achievement and risk. It promotes people with the right views and adherence to the prevailing pseudo-religious philosophy.

It rewards the petit-caesars in HR and makes them queens. Or it makes them think they are, in any case.

108 >>"Feminism is gender equality, I think she's trying to appeal to young

This is all very silly and sad.

Sad because we're pretty darn close to "gender equality" in terms of what is feasible given that there *are* differences between the sexes, and no amount of activism will wipe out, say, men being stronger (better suited for certain physical tasks/professions) and, say, women bearing children and bearing the burden of motherhood (short of women, en mass, reject child birth and drastically reducing the human race). What's left to fight for/over is petty and/or manufactured outrage at this point.

Silly because feminism has *always* been about only certain upper-class women getting "equality"; women like Hillary and Maddy using family connections and ivy league connections to 'break glass ceilings'. I bet Ms. Cocteau has no f$#@s to give about women abused by ISIS, etc.

260 I'll say one thing - for many, if not the majority, American women, it's not a binary choice of work/have children. Not these days. Now, to use my wife as an example, she IS home with the kids during the day while I'm at work, but most days she's leaving for work shortly after I get home. She doesn't want the kids in day care, so she juggles multiple part-time jobs instead. I'm sure she'd love to stay home with the kids around the clock, but that just isn't happening. Most people don't make enough money to comfortably live that way.

I don't know about that, although historically for a long time it was true of both sexes. Men, after all, remain fertile for much longer, albeit with progressively reduced efficacy. Sperm, unlike ova, are continuously generated, so there's not the same degree of cumulative genetic damage.

Durham = UNH = college kid, so of course she's a socialist. Though it's nice to see even socialists are smart enough to avoid the "vote for me because I share a genetic attribute with you!" schtick. Not smart enough to avoid hanging on to a disproven political and economic doctrine that inevitably leads to genocide, impoverishment, disease and misery, but still; baby steps.

IMO, yes. Many of the woes we have as a nation now are because of the rejection of older, proven ways of relationships and families. It's not just the woes of the nation - that's the nation's problem - but the woes of the women themselves. Clinton was awesome because his leftist initiatives were defeated by a right-leaning Congress.

Policies that are designed to specifically benefit corporatist interests without addressing real market concerns are rad!

People should wait until they're much older, wiser, and richer before saddling themselves with a child rather than enthusiastically embracing each psychotic bundle of joy as it comes. Oh, and only one, cuz, y'know, you're getting up there in age. Mexicans will be your caretakers when you're old.

355 Gender equality may be a good thing, depends on what is meant by that.

If they're saying that the genders are equal as equally citizens with rights and responsibilities then, that's ok.

But usually 'feminists' mean something else when they say that.

Some mean equally opportunity which is fine on it's face but when it becomes a requirement that women must be accommodated regardless of any intrinsic lack due to their gender, then no that's not equality.

Or when they say that a secretary working at a desk in air conditioned spaces should receive the same pay as a man working on high tension wiring in the outdoors during heat, cold and storm then no that's not equality.

Or when they make the stupidest claim of all that somehow gender is a societal construct (do they not understand procreation?) then no that's not equality.

So we shouldn't make assumptions about what these children believe to be true.

And let's keep in mind that the younger you are, the less experienced you are at how the government will take your money and you will receive very little benefit from it doing so and that socialism takes the most while retaining the most appearance of the payers having free will.

You have to be over 30 usually to appreciate that.

This is where the right needs a community organizer to come up with some transparently false genesis for an astro-turfed movement like Black Lives Matter etc...

You're such a dick. Truly disingenuous. And Your 'lone voice in the wilderness' sanctimony is kind of smelly as well. I don't normally comment when you start doing your thing, but it's especially rank today.

All people here have done is point out an obvious truth-- that many women have found the expectation that they can put off having children indefinitely, or to not have children at all, was not worth it. They can do whatever they want, but the observation being made is that many did not understand what they were getting into, and a case could be made that they were misled.

We don't really have free trade with countries like China-- and I mention China because they are the biggest trade problem and Clinton was paid by the Chinese for most favored nation status. They manipulate currency exchange, demand access to technology in order to sell it there, ignore environmental damage, and keep out foreign goods through a variety of official and unofficial obstruction. They also use copyrighted and patented intellectual property without permission or compensation. The degree of distortion of the market largely prevents comparative advantage from working as Adam Smith described.
