3 Rush doubled down on Rubio in the last half hour of Wednesday's show. Apparently, Rubes paid him a visit on Monday and kissed the pope's ring.

Rubio remains a cosponsor of the I-Squared Act. Anybody ask him why Americans should send their kids to college for a STEM degree when we can import them for $1.10/hour?

Insanity.

Per Ben Carson in Iowa, things to keep in mind:

CNN broke the story as "breaking news" and made it seem like Carson was dropping out.

Cruz's staff who tweeted it out were only reporting what CNN reported AS IT WAS REPORTED.

Rubio's staff also reported Carson dropping out.

How exactly did CNN get the scoop about Carson??

Interesting that Trump is rallying to Carson's defense considering last November he basically called Carson insane regarding the stabbing incident.

CONCLUSION - If anyone is innocent is this, it's the Cruz camp.

Trump is a sore loser and the media is using this nothing burger to destroy Cruz.

Now we know the Establishment are a bunch of mendacious, deceitful, back-stabbing scumbags... would it be all that unbelievable that they created a fake scoop and sent it to CNN in order to try to benefit their new golden boy? 56 After watching Hillary's victory screech I'm seriously wondering how so many people are able to support a hateful witch like Hillary or the delusional old socialist Sanders for that matter. I'm thinking it comes down more to their followers than the candidates.

Of course they all want free stuff and that is a motivator of all Dems. But Hillary supporters also want revenge and punishment for the people they don't like and the country. That would include most of us here. Her angry shouting is music to their ears, not the screech we hear.

For Bernie cultists, from reading their commentary and the Bernie ads I'm convinced they think socialism is Stuff White People Like. You know, Farmers Markets, acoustic night at the craft brew pubs, TED talks, vacations in Costa Rica, sushi.... That is exactly what they think they will have coming for everybody if Sanders is elected.

78 Obama lying or twisting the facts again. No, Islam doesn't mean peace except insofar as it means you will have peace from submitting to the will of Allah by being a Muslim the only peace of other people is they submit to the will of Allah by converting or paying the tax. Otherwise it's beheading time or blowing up, or crucifying, etc, etc

The Arabic term "Islam" itself is usually translated as "submission"; submission of desires to the will of God. It comes from the term "aslama", which means "to surrender" or "resign oneself".

Surely there were members of the mosque who knew Obama was pulling a fast one.

That's because it's not a mere philosophy or system of government. It's a cult. It believes in the creation of earthly paradise through "enlightened" leaders, and they conveniently (as all cults do) get to decide what constitutes enlightenment.

It can fail a million times due to how it predictably runs afoul of the Peter Principle, Dunning-Kreuger Effect, and Groupthink and the adherents of the utopia cult will only flagellate themselves more to try to purge their sins and try again.

105 Going further, they believe that man can be perfected and purified, and that the "sin" they need to remove from the human condition is inequality. They believe that there should be absolute equality of outcome, and that the only thing preventing it are the -isms and -phobias. Racism, sexism, homophobia, (and now) islamophobia, etc. The logic of these things does not matter to them, it is a holy mission that they pursue with an inquisitor's zeal.

Their hideously pathetic anti-philosophy shows its roots in Rosseau and his "Noble Savage" bullshit here. That if they can just erase history and all of culture and replace it with their dogma, man will be perfect, regardless of the fact that the somehow-perfect primitive man managed to fuck things up so badly to get to this point to begin with. Logical consistency is not their strong point. They are insane zealots, and their zealotry always makes monsters of them when they take power.

109 Good morning all.

From this date in 1944- the day we have been waiting for:

Feb 4, 1944 - The EZ Dog Journal
Btry has orders to move to Anzio. 77th taking over at Lungo. Went to assembly area at Caivano near Casserta - then on in to Naples with General and a night at the Parco. Miserable day - cold and rainy.

Btry = Battery
77th = 77th Field Artillery Brigade
Parco = Parco Hotel, Naples

By now it has become evident that the Anzio landings were not going to result in a rapid defeat of the Germans. A German counterattack was imminent. Troop movements to Anzio were staged out of the Naples area. From Naples landing craft would ferry back and forth to Anzio, a roughly 90 mile trip on the Tyrrhenian Sea. As we shall see, the role of the Field Artillery would soon become critically important on the beachhead. EZ Dog would be attached to the counterbattery section of VI Corps, tasked with destroying or neutralizing enemy artillery capabilities in the sector.

Islam is flatly incompatible with American ideals (like freedom of religion, freedom of speech, equality of the sexes, separation of church and state, free markets, etc.), and must be rejected if we have any hope of retaining the freedoms fought for, and bequeathed to us, by our Founders.

Posted by: J.J. Sefton

Peter King, who is in the Cruz camp, tweeted that Carson was getting out and the campaign ran with it. It was not as CNN reported it.

I think Trump might say--Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser.

That being said--"Trump/Cruz, 2016/20", "Cruz/West", 2024/28"

Glenn Beck: Cruz campaign's actions 'totally reasonable'

Radio Host goes on 'The Kelly File' to react to Sarah Palin's attacks on Ted Cruz following Iowa

http://bit.ly/23KJxAC

With the Ben Carson non-controversy, he pointed out that on Sunday, before the caucus, one of Carson's big donors switched to Cruz, and on Monday the NH superpac for Carson switched to Cruz, then Carson disappears for a "change of clothes" which makes no sense, because "they have clothes stores in NH."

So Carson's campaign was bleeding money and people before the Caucus. Horribly so. And, especially before New Hampshire. Carson disappears. CNN reports this.

It all leads you to believe he's done.

I'll stand by what I said yesterday. He didn't go home for a change of clothes, he went home for a "mental break" because he was losing it. He knows he's finished, but cannot accept it.

Had some excitement here last night -- got waked up by a double boom and
the house shaking at 1:09. Found out via a Bing search this morning
that it was a fire at an oil well collection site over on County Road

local volunteer fire departments responded, but as of 3:25, one tank was

MIRROR -- Former US President Jimmy Carter tonight told the UK Parliament he wants Donald Trump to land the Republican nomination ahead of frontrunner Ted Cruz . Speaking on a visit to Britain, the 91-year-old Democrat warned Mr Cruz is committed to "Far Right-wing politics" which he would pursue "aggressively" if he makes it to the White House.

By contrast, Carter said, outspoken billionaire Mr Trump has no fixed views at all. "If I had a choice of Republican nominees, between Cruz and Trump, I think I would choose. Trump -- which may surprise some of you," he told an audience in the House of Lords.

"The reason is, Trump has proven already that he is completely malleable.

"I don't think he has any fixed opinion that he would fight for."

282 Iran will continue to develop its missile program and it should not be considered a threat to neighboring and friendly countries, the semi-official Fars news agency quoted the head of the army as saying on Thursday.

"Iran's missile capability and its missile program will become stronger. We do not pay attention and do not implement resolutions against Iran, and this is not a violation of the nuclear deal," Fars quoted commander-in-chief Ataollah Salehi as saying.

He was referring to Iran's deal with world powers last year to curb a nuclear program that the West feared, despite Tehran's denials, was aimed at acquiring atomic weapons.

Despite last month's easing of sanctions against Iran, it remains in dispute with the United States over its development and testing of ballistic missiles capable of delivering a nuclear warhead.

yeah, they picked out the unclear tweet so they could blame CNN, while it was clear at the time Carson was not out. Good sneaky dishonest politics I guess, like the other stories they spread, or that flyer with made up numbers.

But Cruz maybe wasn't directly involved, until his "magnanimous" apology after the damage was done. He only apologized for not verifying CNN's report, but CNN made it clear Carson was not dropping out.

So Cruz's apology seemed grand, but actually was denial that they had intentionally misled. I guess that's the game of clever politics, but smells worse when he runs as the man God chose, and he tells the Body of Christ to rise up and elect him, the chosen one.

If he will close the border and not give voting rights to illegals, and challenge the anchor baby law, (and get elected) ... fine. Trump or Cruz are the only ones that will, not quite sure Cruz will, more sure of Trump either. heh

It's just comforting to see the even hand of government dispensing justice evenhandedly.

Also, just because I bring this up, doesn't mean I support what these people did. I don't. I have no sense on it one way or the other except that I think people should be concerned about how not only the government acted in bringing this nothing of an occupation to an end, but on how the government treats what it sees as "the right wing" and how it coddles the left wing even when the left wing causes insurrection.

Just sayin.

In the words of the immortal Gomez Addams, 'I am that fool'.

Probably the funniest (IMO) and certainly sexiest episode of the original show, Gomez, The People's Choice, where he runs for mayor of wherever it is the Addams Family lives. For those of you who haven't seen it, he ends up getting thrown off the ballot due to the family's meddling.

At the end, a chastened Morticia asks if he can ever forgive her. "Probably not," Gomez answers. "But, cherie!" she protests, which of course, drives him wild, and he begins kissing up her arm, around her shoulders and down her back, all the time muttering, "I'll never forgive you - never, ever."

As the episode closes, with Gomez working his mouth down Morticia's back, she looks straight into the camera with a devastatingly sexy half smile which as good as signals the audience that the two of them are going to have a freaky time in bed that night.

I tried to find a clip on YouTube, but it only links to "The New Addams Family," so you'll have to take my word for it.

_____________________

I read a piece a few weeks ago that quoted one of Obama's former Harvard Law professors -- may have been Larry Tribe -- and he was talking about the difference between Obama and Cruz (also a Harvard Law grad) as students.

He said Cruz would usually say something insightful during class discussions; he would point out something that the others had not noticed, or explain some aspect that the others had misunderstood. Obama, on the other hand, typically just re-stated or summarized what other students had already said. IOW, Cruz was a thinker, Obama was basically just a parrot.

Probably not a coincidence that Cruz went on to argue (and win) cases before the Supreme Court, while Obama became a part-time lecturer in grievance law.

Cruz has the intellect Barry pretends to have (and the media wishes he had).

So, let's parse that.

First of all, the defense that he's a rock-solid conservative except for the Gang of Eight Bill is something like saying, "Aside from that one thing, John Wilkes Booth was usually a very well-theater patron."

Second, Rubio has never repudiated the substance of the Gang of Eight bill. Everything that was in it... path to citizenship, higher numbers of legal immigrants and H-visas... he still wants all of that with some additional border security window dressing. And he has pledged not to undo Obama's Executive Amnesty.

I tend to believe he did, because extreme political ideologies (which is what Islam is) don't get the traction Islam got without an extremely charismatic figure to jumpstart the process. "Extremely charismatic" - which is what Mohammed undoubtably was, in addition to being brutal - is not necessarily a compliment. Hitler was charismatic.

It caused problems--the NFL debacle (NFL don't want no truf, baby), the prescription drug addiction, the Marta years in which he tried to finance all her crackpot ideas, the clothing line, etc. I give him full credit for his brains, drive, determination, and for what it took to get off the pills, dump Marta, and dial back on the trying to be and do everything.

As for the Rubio thing, he lives in Florida, so that colors his judgement and even though he is a gadfly to the GOP, he gains nothing if they implode. So I can see why he is suddenly on board with Rubio.

TPP and globalist (slave) trade, prioritized over employing American workers first, is another triumph for the establishmentarians. Only Trump has boldly taken those on in a big way with big talk. But he has to corral the raw energy into a little more specific policy, and demonstrate some depth, not just desire.

But it has to be Cruz or Trump ... Rubio is the youngster that will be led by Schumer or FOX or establishment. I also find it amusing that pro-Trump websites are quoting Karl Rove of all people as "see, this proves it" when he was on O'Reilly last night, projecting how many votes Carson possibly, maybe, totally lost.

But really, let's face it, no matter how many ways that people prove over and over and over how this whole thing was believable at the time, people who hate Cruz (and falsely claim to be leaning towards Cruz), will not ever, ever, ever believe it was an honest mistake.

Thanks for the Rush explanation vis a vis Rubio.

Rush giving Rubio the green light to pillage and plunder as a 'conservative' is perplexing, in the extreme.

But your explanation makes sense.

Still, Rush is in grave danger of having no good legacy if --as 'iforgot' put it so well earlier in the thread---McConnell's prison bitch Rubio wins. Rush will have no legitimacy if the disaster of a Rubio admin becomes reality.

Oh well, Rush was good back in the day.
Thanks for the memories.

This.

The biggest threat to the US is not ISIS. It's not even the Democrats (in and of themselves). It is the Uniparty Establishment in DC.

I can't kill the Democrat wing of the Uniparty, but I *just might* (with the help of some friends) kill the Republican wing of it - or force it to treat me as a citizen and not as a subject at least.

If we can do either of those things - kill it, or force it treat us as citizens - then we're back to a two-party system and one step closer to a Constitutional Republic again.

If Trump is the nominee, all indications are that the DOPe will burn itself down rather than actually support him. If Cruz is the nominee, it's even money if they'll self-immolate or come to the negotiating table.

If anyone else in the field wins, the DOPe wins again and I believe the last chance to stop the downward spiral is gone.

452 I think it's virtually a certainty that a President Rubio would push for some form of Amnesty; the Republican Establishment really wants the issue "off the table" and the Chamber of Commerce wants the cheap labor to keep flowing.

505 and Trump has kicked ass in this election because he is so good at politics, but when he's President won't it be better to have an ideology?

===

Its interesting. I don't think any of them have an ideology, per se. Not even Cruz - he's a debater and chooses a corner, that's all. And his actions give the lie to his words, same as Rubio. I look at Trump as having an 'ideology' but its not a political one. His is more to do with deals, money and trade.

518 Trump picks up the coveted Jimmy the Joo-hater endorsement. Likes the fact that he can strike deals, instead of the "far right inflexible" Cruz.

And there you go.

Don't lie, JJ.

Carter said Trump was going to lose when people caught onto him but given a choice (while still saying Trump and Cruz are both shit) the turd he liked more was Trump; and that was as a brief aside answering a minor question.

Did Jimmy Carter just say he'd like Donald Trump to become president?

Not exactly. And only if, you get the feeling, he was down to his very last choice.

Carter, 91, appeared in Britain's House of Lords Wednesday afternoon to deliver a lecture on the Carter Center's long and impressive campaign to eliminate Guinea worm disease from the world. A question-and-answer session followed, and, despite the presence of many esteemed members of Parliament and other dignified guests in the ornate "Robing Room," the first one to the mic was -- wouldn't you know it? -- a pesky reporter.

"Can you give us your assessement of American politics," the man from the BBC asked as some veddy British boos began riccocheting around the Robing Room. "Also, whether you're for Sanders or Clinton."

"I was hoping I wouldn't get that question, but I'm not surprised," Carter said. He then launched into a confident, five-minute response that began with him recalling his own surprise victory in the 1976 Democratic presidential caucuses ("I was the one who put Iowa on the map") and proceeded to his analysis of this year's results there.

"Bernie Sanders has had a remarkable showing, particularly among young people. In Iowa, he had 85 percent of young people's (support)," Carter said. "I don't know what the final result will be. My own personal opinion is that it's very likely Hillary Clinton will still prevail in the Democratic party. Of course, I'm a Democrat and I will support the (Democratic party's) nominee."

But wait, the former president was just getting warmed up! Turning to the "almost completely unpredictable" race for the Republican nomination, Carter said he had a "feeling" that Trump's chances ultimately would "fade away.

"When people actually get ready to put on a ballot, 'This is the person I want to lead me for the next four or eight years, I think they'll have a little different opinion,'" Carter said.

Still, better him than Ted Cruz.

If he had to choose between Cruz and Trump for the Republican nomination, Carter chuckled, "I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you."

(It did, judging by the loud laughter from the audience.)

"The reason is, Trump has proven already he's completly malleable," Carter explained. "I don't think he has any fixed (positions) he'd go the White House and fight for. On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable. He has far right wing policies he'd pursue if he became president."

If the resolution passes, student organizations at $63,280-per-year Vassar would be banned from purchasing Ben & Jerrys products for school-related events, reports Campus Reform.

So are they severing ties with EVERYTHING that Unilever owns? Because if they were serious, that would be the proper thing to do. Also, hilarious.

569 Trump is a sore loser and the media is using this nothing burger to destroy Cruz.

The media is trying to destroy Cruz (not a first on that)... I really don't think they will get anywhere with this though.

Bourbon, usually Bulleit. And Jameson, depending on my mood.
Posted by: IllTemperedCur at February 04, 2016 09:41 AM (j4wsR)

Not to be picky, but, Jameson is Irish Whiskey.

Yeah, I gotta work on my grammar. Knew that, just didn't specify switching from bourbon to irish depending on mood.

And CBD, I sometimes rotate Buffalo Trace in. My impression is that BT has a bit more of a delicate flavor than Bulleit which is quite nice for a change-up.

Google "Bourbon Bucket List"

I'm through 11 of them.

Larceny is good for the price.
Wiley Pot Still is very good for the price but often difficult to find
Jefferson's Ocean is excellent but expensive

they need to move their protest farther up the supply chain.

Ice-cream is made from Milk
Milk is produced by Cows
Cows eat grass
Grass grows in soil
Everything nourishing grows from; or feeds on sustenance from the soil

Vassar students need to stop eating

572 @570 It's "Willett's." But the eff-head who made the list couldn't spell it, either.
They were almost destroyed by the fireball that rolled down the valley when Heaven Hill went up. For a generation and a half, they've been "just" an aging house, but their own new bourbon is finally out this year.

Pretty bottle, isn't it? Ask about their Norwegian.
Lot of tourist development going on on their property, but all family.
High-volume distillation engineers come from Scotland and such to visit their still.
There is something...different about it.

573 It's not the Rebublicans you have to worry about, sweetie: Democrats have gone so far to the extreme left that they are running open Marxists for US president! In my lifetime, Commie thugs with Sanders ideology vowed to bury us and the US Govt trained us to kill them and sent us overseas to do just that. While Reagan and GHWB were waging a brilliant war to defeat the evil Soviet Union, Sanders took his bride there on their honeymoon! If you thought Howard Dean was crazy - and he is - then Bernie Sanders belongs in a padded cell....along with much of the rest of the Democrat Party! Instead of promising a chicken in every pot....Sanders promise is a fruitcake in every closet! And Hillary Clinton is so corrupt she makes John Edwards look ethical!

576 I especially like the red circles and zig-zagging, criss-crossing lines showing that a former campaign lawyer for Mitch McConnell is, in reality, the dark mastermind behind a vast Establishment conspiracy to suborn the primary process and undermine the hero of our story, Donald J. Trump, whose sheer awesomeness and irresistible charisma causes women to swoon and men to question their sexual orientation. Riveting stuff.

Agree the DNC is dangerous but I offer the following counterpoint:

It is dangerous because it is dying. The press will not point it out but any party so corrupt that it runs a traitor/spy and a moldy socialist potato for the highest office is not healthy.

The DNC is dying and the GOP is undergoing cell division.

By the end of this year the political landscape will be completely changed regarding right-left politics.

579 24 There is more than one website out there that is claiming Cruz started the whole thing by having one of his staffers call CNN with an anonymous tip.

More than one website out there that claims that John McCain was responsible for the Forrestal fire as well, or that the ZOG is really in charge.

580 Ted's team RT'd a CNN tweet. So did Rubio's team. Never knew Trump was such a whingy little snowflake. Never thought Carson was such a tool.

Cruz and to a lesser extent Rubio are now my only contenders...

582 Two-part question for every Democrat and Republican voter (and candidate):

1. Would disqualify any candidate purely on consideration of personal integrity?
2. If so, can you desccribe what lack of intregity would you consider disqualifying?

Posted by: xnycpeasant at February 04, 2016 01:13 PM (k8tEg)

583 Well you can have polished politicians who lose with grace. Or you can have people shell shocked and behaving badly when they lose.

Do you want outsiders or not?

1) You know, not everything we bring to the USA turns out to be worth the trouble 150 years later. And much you can't send back.
2) Not everything cheap is a good deal.
3) I would still rather Americans learn to work on our critical infrastructure than rely on non-Americans that may pull a Odoacer when we become fat, stupid and lazy... Oops, may already be too late.
