As to your dismissal of Rubio's ability to appeal to Hispanic voters, Ace, you're wrong. Of course Rubio is not going to be able to en masse turn Hispanics into a Republican voting block, but he can improve upon the percentages that McCain and Romney earned of the Hispanic vote. He will be able to "limit the bleeding" in a way that no other current Republican candidate can. That's what George Bush did and it helped him to win. Marco can do the same.

Yeah, our 30th anniversary. Our first vacay in 14 or 15 years. AmEx is paying for our airfare (front of the plane, yay!), and we're working with a great local travel agent.
We'll be there for two weeks, and our last three days will be on safari. CANNOT WAIT.
In the meantime, we're updating our wills and selecting an executor. Our son would lose his mind and run through what money we have and our house like a monkey on crack. So, there's lots of stuff to deal with.
Plus, the Passport Office has denied my picture because glasses.
Husband just got his replacement for his lost passport with his glasses.
So, I've just spent time at my Congresscritter's office to get their asses in gear to help me.

In any case, Rubio is bilingual, speaks Spanish like a native. I have never heard Cruz speak Spanish. It wouldn't surprise me if he were less fluent than Rubio because it's usually the mother that matters most in these things and Cruz's mother is Anglo.
I once met Tony Pena, who was celebrated by the NYT-type of people for being the First! Historic! Genuine Hispanic! mayor of a major city, in this case Denver.

I looked it up, and there were apparently a small minority of slaves brought over who were muslim, but it was very small and not much influence.

Mexicans make up 60%
Puerto Ricans about 10%
Cubans 5%
South/Central Americans about 15%
