38 Hillary: Rosencrantz
Sanders: Guildenstern

In the opening scene of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead, Rosencrantz bets on "heads" on a coin-toss ninety-two straight times and wins. They don't realize until the end of the movie that such a violation of the laws of probability are evidence that they're already dead.

Life imitates art. Hillary and Sanders don't realize yet that their chances of getting elected are dead, but six coin tosses should give them a (pardon the pun here) heads-up.

I've noticed on the facebooks, many of my acquaintances on the left hate Hillary. She really has very few fans among the younger age bracket. Just about all her support comes from people who were old enough to vote for Bill last time.

I hope Bernie starts to think he can win this, because the Dem establishment has not treated him particularly well. Remember the security breach thing where his staffers got Hillary's campaign info? And now with suspiciously lucky coin flips by Hillary in Iowa, I wonder if the old socialist is going to get fed up with how he's been treated and take the gloves off.

Posted by: Flyguy at February 03, 2016 01:26 PM (r2qlt)

75 This is, frankly, great news.

Hillary will get 0% crossover votes from Republican or conservative voters.

Zero.

She is the world's most hated person by those on the right side of the spectrum.

So her only route to general election victory is to "rally the base" of leftists.

Problem is, as we see here, the extreme left hates her even more than the conservatives do!

So she's squeezed into an uncomfortable narrow slvier of the electoral spectrum, occupying the "far left" to "moderate left" zone.

But, you see that is the zone where the unenthusiastic, uninformed bored voters are.

If you want any kind of energy on the left, you have to look to the extreme left for revolutionary fervor.

And that segment has grown to the point where it's about 40% of the Democratic party.

Without those activists urgently working for Hillary, her campaign will be moribund. And they will suppress themselves on voting day.

So: She's in big trouble.

The problem is, a similar thing will happen on the right if Rubio wins. Sigh.

My theory:

The big money knows that Hillary and Sanders are simply unelectable (for different reasons).

So in desperation they're funding the Republican most amenable to centrist/"reasonable" compromise politics. Merely as a way to stave off Cruz and Trump.

In short: Rubio is the lesser of five evils.

104 Students currently in college wanting free crap - especially free college education - is like pigs voting for bacon.

Countries that have free tuition have *very* restrictive admissions policies.

Only 30% of Germans go to college and that group is determined around age 11.

I suspect that's true in China as well, given the number of mediocre Chinese undergraduates that US universities are starting to see. (Graduate students are still top-notch.)

106 A meeting between leaders of criminal groups The Knights Templar and Jalisco Cartel New Generation (CJNG) triggered the slaying recorded this weekend in the village The Cundancito, municipality of Coyuca de Catalan, Guerrero.

According to information of the magazine Proceso, the meeting was held Saturday night January 30 and allegedly aimed to "set rules" on the control of poppy production areas and transfer of heroin to the US market United.

However, leaders of both groups did not reach an agreement and decided to use the weapons to annihilate, indicated the sources.

The shooting left an official toll of nine dead, including the head of the cell CJNG Joseph "The Chabelo" Salamanca, 43, and his brother Emilio Salamanca Rodriguez, 31.

Meanwhile, a newly married couple who traveled route to their honeymoon on the road Zihuatanejo-Ciudad Altamirano was shot to death by members of one of the two criminal groups for no apparent reason.

Officially, it was reported that the first nine people died after being attacked with bullets on a quinceanera of a teenager in the town Cundancito, in the municipality of Coyuca de Catalan.

charge of the caucus, so a man who had shown up just to vote reluctantly
stepped forward. As Joseph was leaving with theuntrained caucus
chairman, who is one of her neighbors, 'I looked at him and said, 'Who
called in the results of our caucus?' And we didn't know.'" ... The
impromptu chairman of Des MoinesNo. 42 told the Register when he
realized his precinct had the key to the final missing votes, he
tookTuesday off work and was driving home to get the paperwork. But he
didn't know who was logging the tallies. The party's caucus hotline was
no longer working. The party headquarters was locked."
