Reporters Ask Sanders About Rumors of Planned Voter Fraud in Iowa to Benefit Him; Sanders Blames David Brock for the Rumors

And he questions why someone would believe David Brock's claims, noting, sarcastically, Brock's "integrity."

"Really? Is that what they’re saying?" Sanders shot back, heatedly.

"Based on what did they say that? Based on David Brock's long history of honesty and integrity? The man who tried to destroy Anita Hill? Is this where this is coming from?" the 74-year-old bellowed.

The rumor concerns the Sanders' campaign allegedly scheming to bus out-of-state students into Iowa to rig the caucuses against Hillary.

James Taranto noted that Hillary Clinton has before told us all that any Republican concerns about voter fraud were just all racist fearmongering.

But apparently now, when she's got this rumor going, it's something that should concern us all.

28 There is no atrocity or outrage you could accuse the Democrats of doing to win an election that would even raise my eyebrow. Sure, they could have done it, of course they could. In just the last 10 years they've defrauded several elections, ran a corpse, replaced a candidate long after the deadline, and packed the ballot boxes with felons. They have repeatedly "discovered" crates of ballots in trunks of cars and hotel rooms to get past a close election. They don't even have any shame about it because they know the press will totally cover for them.

49 I wouldn't put that sort of thing past Bernie's campaign. He has a history of borderline vote fraud. He won his first election in VT, for mayor of Burlington, in a similar manner. He'd run for office a few times and failed miserably. In '81, when running for Mayor, his campaign went up to the University of Vermont campus and went around getting out-of-state students to register to vote in VT using their dorm rooms as their home address. Hundreds of such students registered without anyone checking if they'd already registered in their home State. Bernie won that year by a handful of votes.

I also wonder: if it looks pretty clear that Trump will get the nomination and looks like he has a really good probability of winning in November and has unified the party behind him (he does know something about making deals), will the IRS or some other Obama Admin dept or agency suddenly announce a criminal investgation of Trump?

I agree with J J: Bernie's followers are probably overloaded with the ideas that you can give away a lot of stuff by making the rich 'pay their fair share'

Never mind that a lot of the rich might think it's not worth making all that money if the gov't is taking more than half of it away in taxes. Progs tend to believe that people are just going to continue acting the same way no matter how things change. Anyway, standing on line for bread and milk is really no worse than standing on line for movie tickets, is it?

No it's not. It's not, and this idea that most of America is comprised of rednecks and hoodrats too stupid not to drink racing fuel, that 70% of Americans can't carry a decimal point, is the cornerstone of credentialist liberalism.

People ARE smart enough to buy their own health insurance, to plan their own retirements, to make decisions about what to eat and whether to smoke, to decide what kind of light bulbs they want to buy. And they'll get even BETTER at those things if they're given the responsibility of making those choices.

The country would be better off if a random assortment of lottery ticket buyers were put in positions of power than the hateful effeminate courtesans currently running Washington DC.

You can trust the average American a hell of a lot further than the average "elite" which is a word that should be retired from referring to the criminals in the bureaucracy.

Even more perplexing is that McCarthy had little to do with the Hollywood Blacklist, McCarthy was after commies in government, specifically State and Defense. It was the House and HUAC that went after Hollywood, but all they really did was expose them publicly. The Blacklist was solely a product of THE STUDIOS, private companies who decided that it was in their best interests to sever ties with the overt commies in their midst.

322 So Trump doesn't do email. If you email him, someone prints it for him so he can read it.

Or maybe he doesn't read, so your message gets read to him from the paper that someone else printed it on.

Or maybe he doesn't listen, either, so your message does not get through.

But we know he either reads or listens, because how else does he know the poll numbers, or what Megan said about him?

And while he does not do email, he for sure uses Twitter, or at least dictates his tweets to someone who uses his account for getting out the latest piece of feed.

Which brings up this question. If he becomes POTUS, will we all be subject to a deluge of tweets, as we do now, giving us all his daily polling numbers on any topic at all, and where he intends to speak tonight, and all the syrupy thank-yous he tweets to his admirers?

And his third-grade-level drivel when he goes on the warpath against someone who has offended him?

'Cause if that is where we might land, it will be in an alternate universe many of us had not planned for.

Brutal barbarism.

A good religioncurbs barbarous selfishness otherwisedirected by the id/egowith an external code re orienting the self to "charity" love of others without self gain. Its like a software modification. Max, until 2008 I'd have agreed with you (Sanders and those states).

Now? Is anything really out of the question any more? Actually, esp. since 2012, is ANYTHING really out of the question?

I don't see a bottom in national political terms. With effectively collapsed institutional guard-rails, 52% really now CAN run the country, and most of our lives.

349 Hmm...getting dirty. Sanders better watch his back. If he isn't meticulous, it's over for him.
