Annoying, and Predictable: Establishment Puts Nikki Haley Up to Attack Trump Rather Than Obama

When you ask "why are you ignoring us and destroying us," this is why.

3 After an hour of listening to a pompous blowhard cry about his ineffectiveness at getting me on the same page as he over the last seven years, Nikki Haley came on. And at heart, reiterated the same complaint: that those who are angry for not being listened to by the party that claims to work for their aims...
...should shut up.
My thanks to the Republican Party for having wasted my tax dollars, campaign donations, litigation, Constitution- and most importantly, copious amounts of of the limited time I have on this rock.
And this morning, out come the rank and file of the establishment to tell me that if didn't like Haley's speech, I'm a racist Trump fan.
Awesome. Just fucking awesome.

7 But seriously, did anybody even watch O's dumb speech last night, much less the rebuttal?

A mere political sideshow, at best, I venture.

Trump will soldier on merrily, poll numbers unaffected by the attack.

At a time when people are searching for leadership the GOP gives us identity politics and more chiding of our own party members.
You
want to know what people dislike about the GOP? Why a record number of
people are foregoing the party? Look no further than this agitprop which
sounded like a commercial for everything that people hate about
Washington.
Here is an epic opportunity to differentiate the GOP,
to talk about our vision for the future, to speak perhaps on the
imprudence of Iran illegally holding our sailors. Instead we get
censuring of our own party and a not so veiled shot at the current
primary frontrunner.
Honestly GOP, are you kidding me?
On
one side, we have a self-absorbed man more endeared with the sound of
his voice than those he is supposed to serve and disappointed that the
"consent of the governed" and "separation of powers" prevents him from
imposing his personal will on the people. On the other side, we have
people who have also forgotten they exist to serve a plurality of the
people's will, and constantly castigate us that we should be more
compliant with their innately imperious, consultant drafted, lobbyist
approved, inside-the-Beltway vision for us.
I've grown a little sick of the cowards and condemnation from politicians who substitute sophism for sapience.

9 It seems logical to me that a rebuttal to the SOTU should, you know...be a rebuttal to the SOTU, which it wasn't really.

18 Proof of what many of what us have been saying for years....

42% of the Electorate is not in EITHER political party... they are registered as Independent...

That number is greater by 13% than EITHER of the political parties.

Yet they retain total control over Politics and the Federal Government... because they have used their power to put LAWS in place, to perpetuate the power of the two parties.

They are not on your side... they are on THEIR side. They are on the side of Washington DC.

It's the old saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks. They're so invested in the way things used to be that they can't change.

I appreciate that she is speaking generally supportively of immigrants and not demonizing them all as "invaders" or terrorists or third-world mouth-breathers.

61 There's a phenomenon at work in our nation that I first encountered with marketing people. They only reached out to demographics with high response rates. This demographic consisted of *existing customers* making their efforts nothing more than make-work potemkin ass-covering.

-The government only taxes the people that will pay.
-Businesses only hire the people willing to settle for part time status.
-Apple markets their products to the idiots who already own every other apple product.
-The president only makes demands of countries that will comply.

This is myopic, practically suicidal behavior. Unfortunately, it's also been effective in changing the function of American minds.

We're frustrated and looking for a way to effect political change. If the GOP continues to promise the moon and deliver a kick to the pills, then the myopic, practically suicidal decision to destroy the only power group we actually have any influence over will cease to seem like a foolish decision.

Our betters have 10 months to persuade The Unwashed Base otherwise.

75 Screw Nikki Haley and Screw team stupid.

I'm not in favor of any immigration from the third world shitholes of the world whether or not they are hard working.

I simply do not want any more, Indians, Asians, Africans or Latinos or Muslims immigrating legally and definetly not illegally.

We are a country of 325 million people with nearly 100 million people out of the workforce with nearly 20 trillion in debt with no end in site with pathetic job growth and a world economy on the brink of collapse.

These groups historically vote 2:1-4:1 for Democrats. And we have 32+ years of data to back that up - They are not going to be flipped.

I want immigration virtually eliminated with exceptions for only the most exceptional and benificial to this country.

I want our immigration to revert back to pre-65 immigration act and reoriented back to the first world, Europe and the Anglosphere.

Sorry if that offends Nikki, team stupid or anyone else but screw that shit, play times over and in the immortal words of Ronald Reagan, it's a time of choosing and your either on my side or your not.

- We Republicans blew it in some way or other, but let's not say exactly what or how. In the meantime, please don't vote for Trump to make up for it, because I promise this time we'll keep our promises.

Trump was interviewed this morning on F&F. He was asked about Haley.

He said she didn't have any problem asking him to donate money to her campaign when she was running for governor. And he gave her a lot of money. Now that she isn't running, she has no problem attacking him.
He kind of laughed and said something about wondering if she will be asking for campaign donations again.
He then added that he is doing well in SC, with a double digit lead there. And that she might want to note that, considering those are her constituents.

Gotta love Trump.

Bwahahahahaha.

If they did that there wouldn't be a single Republican left in Washington.

Oh- and Haley...do you own a mirror?

For the last seven years we've been taking it up the squeakhole as Republicans stood by while the president and Democrats were eating our lunch.

Then, we vote in a Republican Majority and they start launching pejoratives and wagging fingers at the people who just elected them.

Which, they couldn't, by the way, find the stones to do to the president and Democrats

*BLINK*

Now Haley joins this chorus of saps when people finally start moving towards candidates who are the epitome of everything they've been seeking for the last seven years.

I don't even know what to say.

I spent the last day researching all the articles I could find that supported the prosecution's side of the "Making a Murderer" story.

My conclusion is that the nephew, Brendan, should be released immediately and the prosecutors and original defense lawyer sued and disbarred.

Steven Avery should be tried again. There wasn't any evidence so convincing that would stand by itself, plus, even if he did kill the girl, the police can't be allowed to plant evidence.

So I am told that I am a racist, and that I am not what America is about. Cool. I guess the 20 years and few body parts I gave don't have the value they once did. I'll be sure to give you a farewell toast from the Republic of Texas.

But even in the face of this, you still expect to scare me with the boogeyman of Hillary? Well, THAT shit is retarded.

192 Mr. Pink, in the morning thread:
"I'm really at a loss as to why the GOP seems to enjoy flicking off its
own voters. You don't see democrats giving speeches saying "we have to
stop calling everyone who disagrees with us racists guys it divides us
as a nation." Or "we can't have you liberals in big cities being voices
of hate against anyone in flyover country, that's not who we are as a
nation"

Yet republicans climb over themselves to insult me. Why?"

That's exactly it. That's the dividing line between Establishment GOP and the rest of the GOP.

You never, ever see calls from ANY quarter of the Democrats for rationality, calm or moderation against their fringes.

Yet, every time a GOPe wants attention, he runs to the nearest microphone and . . . attacks the rest of the party.

OTOH, Trump is out there attacking the Democrats (and their enablers in the GOP).

Tell me again how Trump is a liberal.

You need to get your head around the uniqueness of those who are adherents of the religion of peace. They are not like other potential immigrants. Whatever a syrian, iraqi, or arabian "adherent" brings to the table could be had by an immigrant from that same land that ISN'T one of the religion of peace.

Adherents of that particular ideology represent nothing but increased risk, wherever they are, compared with any other population-at-large.

Why should any country incur that increased risk, with so little to gain? To maintain some perceived moral standing in the world's eyes? Please!

If it seems like perhaps some people would be unfairly affected by a refusal of civilized countries to allow them entrance based only on their "religion".......SO BE IT!

There seems to be no interest in determining why those people are angry and what the GOP can do, not day but do, to dissipate that anger.

Which would rather lead one to believe that certain portions of the GOP do not care a whit about those issues.

It would rather lead one to believe that the mouthbreathers, well, aren't and are wise enough to determine that.

But I'm the child who can't play politics.

Okie dokie.

I will say, I have run into it and I do think these people will mostly follow through, but I'm getting to the point where I think we need a new coalition anyway and willing to risk it.

I'm a Cruz guy, but his entire attitude turned me off. GOPe media on Twitter keeps insulting Trump supporters, and while that may be funny at the moment, if Trump is NOT the nominee, people like Ben Howe will be trying to win them to their candidate. Insulting them on a daily basis won't do that.

Please put a PRICE on the blood my family has shed for this country, from its very beginning.

Right now, we allow almost 1.5 Million LEGAL immigrants in every year... when you total up all the various programs...

Over a 30 year span (a modern generation) that is 45 Million foreign born... ie from another culture.

With 300 Million Americans... that is 15% of the population being foreign born.

Now add in illegal immigration.... which the Government admits at least 15 million (I'd double that ...)...

We are now at 20% foreign born... ie most whom are from another culture... and most of whom retain dual citizenship.

No country can assimilate that..

And it is 100% true that when the people have reasonable requests and the political class won't give voice to them, demagogues are born.

I blame establishment Republicans for Trump. It wasn't really the Gang of 8. It was the fear that no matter how much opposition to it there was, immigration "reform" would pass anyway.

And the shit they stuffed in the Omnibus just confirmed it all. My example is Ex-Im. No conservative case for it. You might be able to make a practical case for it, but it's not so essential if you're not a VP at Boeing looking to goose your stock price by a quarter-point.

The same people who try to make the free-market case for all manner of trade and for immigration also supported Ex-Im. It was shut down. Good. Democracy at work. And then it was snuck in anyway.

Right now, allying herself so visibly with the GOP Establishment is a Really Dumb Move unless she's been promised something really big .... like a gig on K Street. I'm reading her Rebuttal last night as a signal that the GOPe wants her help to try to derail Trump in the upcoming South Carolina primary. But he's way ahead, with Cruz a strong second in the most recent poll. In fact Trump / Cruz / Carson get 70%. While Cruz has an outside chance of beating Trump in SC because of the Holy Roller vote, there's no way that a GOPe candidate does better than a distant third in SC.

Awhile ago I thought Nikki might make an interesting VP choice. Her adultery back story could have been made a "Go and sin no more" positive. No more.
