Hillary: No I Won't Apologize For Or Retract My Newest Completely Fabricated Lie About Terrorism Being Inspired by YouTube Vidoes

She says ISIS is playing Donald Trump videos to recruit terrorists, which sounds an awful lot like her previous infamous lie about a YouTube video inspiring a spontaneous demonstration in Benghazi.

There's no evidence for this lie -- just like there was no evidence for the last one. Just political convenience.

And yes, just like last time, she's not only not sorry, she's indignant you'd even ask about that.

This confirms the Democrats -- Obama, Hillary, ValJar, all of them -- really do believe that terrorists only attack us because we cross progressives' red lines of good PC Taste.

Or, as AllahPundit puts it:

There's a distinct odor of unimaginative bourgeois left-media consensus around the freakout over Trump as a supposed recruiting tool for ISIS, as if ISIS is some partisan oppo research outfit that can’t ethically invent things whole cloth but will twist an actual fact to their advantage-- and look, Trump handed them an actual fact! The actual thought process here, I think, goes something like this: Cartoonish right-wing populism is the worst thing they can imagine in their own personal Overton window of American politics, therefore any cartoonish right-wing populist proposal must necessarily be enabling ISIS, the world’s worst, most dangerous group of people. It may not actually be true, and it might make no sense when you think about it for five minutes, but this is Larger Truth material if ever there was any.

It's also a demonstration of the progressive conviction that terrorism is actually the fault of its Western victims -- as Michael Moore said of 9/11, why did those terrorists kill the nice people of NYC, when it was really the people of the heartland who were the justifiable targets?

In the minds of some progressives, terrorists' main failing is their inability to distinguish worthy American targets from forbidden ones. I suppose that's why they spend so much time signalling that they're among the Good, Polite, Deferential People who will sign up for sharia and even convert to Islam if that turns out to be Just What ISIS (Really) Wants.

Take Debbie Whatsher Shits, who sat there on air and denied she said what she said as they played the tape back of her saying it. An apology is an admission of wrong.

56 I keep hearing the argument that Trump helps ISIS recruitment but the a to b to c of the logic of this claim appears to be nonexistent.

a) Trump says we should not let muslims into the country until we can weed out the terrorists,

b) ?????????

c) muslims get extra explodey in a way that harms us directly

They hate us already and they might even hate us more if we don't let them in so they can kill us at their convenience but SO WHAT? It least they are somewhere far away hating us extra hard.

for the sake of argument that the government is able to get its shit together on this point

57 Obama and Hillary have been blaming Republicans, such as Trump and GOP governors who don't want Syrian refugees, as battlefield prep: they're establishing the narrative of who to blame when the next jihadi attacks happen.

This is no different than blaming Palin for the AZ shooting. The narrative for domestic terrorism is, by default, that it's a white, conservative tea party dude until proven otherwise --- even though there has not been a single case of this happening.

60 "Conservatism". "Conservatism". Humbug, I say. And bah.

At this point I don't care much about whether some world leader or politician successfully jumps through "conservative" hoops. I care about whether I can find a country on this planet where the leaders will accept me and accept those who wish me well, and deny entry to those who wish me harm.

How much am I willing to pay in taxes to live in such a nation? Well, on that much, we can negotiate. It's not infinite. But it's also not zero.

The value I set on being perceived as properly "conservative" is also not infinite. That value for me is approaching zero, relatively.

I want a future for the West, protection from evil, and neighbours who think in roughly the same terms I think.

95 You know, this strategy is reflective of Liberals assuming that everyone responds the same way to potential terrorism. A vast majority of Liberals are wetting their pants in private over the possibilities. Conservatives, for the most part, are absolutely pissed off about the potential for terrorism on our soil.

This explains why Hillary thinks it would hurt Trump to suggest he is a recruitment tool. Most conservatives I associate with would look at this as a feather in his cap.

I see people here and elsewhere who presume that all Muslims are, if not outright terrorists, then one small step away from terrorism.
I can't abide by such assumptions. I would rather that each individual be judged by his/her own merits.
No one here would abide by the assumption that because they are, say, gun owners, that they are one small step away from mass murder. That would be offensive to them, and rightly so. I only ask that all individuals be judged on their own merits, that is all. That doesn't mean that each individual is blameless, they are not. There are plenty of Muslims who are bent on destroying Western values and they should be not only stopped from entering America but also killed in battle, IMO. But there are also plenty of Muslims who don't want anything to do with destroying America. I don't think they should be lumped in with the terrorists.

Numbers. I'm old enough to remember Gemini and Apollo in the 1960s, and there is *nothing* as exciting as a SpaceX launch today.

That's because they keep pushing the envelope, just like back in the old days, where every mission built on the previous one, and tried to do a little more.

Tonight's launch was the first one since the catastrophic failure on June 28, and instead of simply reflying the same Falcon 9, this was the first launch of an upgraded and more powerful version. That took some moxie.

Congratulations, SpaceX! You had me about to turn blue. I'm breathing again. Thanks a lot.

Yeah, we either have a rule of law or we don't. I believe there are times when people might decide it is necessary to go outside of that (prisoners killing off pedophiles and serial killers, batman, etc), but it should be done with a realization that a legal price might have to paid. 240 Chemjeff, do you think Islam is a religion that promoters violence? If so, that as a result, a number of its followers Will be prone to violence.

Look, I grew up in southern Nigeria. I went to school with Muslims; I had Muslim friends who I am certain would never hurt a fly.

But if you refuse to acknowledge that there is something about Islam that makes its adherents much more prone to violence than those of other religions, and that a whole bunch of Muslims who don't commit acts of violence support or at the very least sympathize with those who do... well, I don't know what to tell you.

I am from a country that's 50% Muslim and I know the havoc a good concentration of Muslims can cause, and it is not isolated to Nigeria. Far from it.

I think that until we come up with mind reading technologies, extra caution when it comes to Muslims is prudent for the government. If more Muslims vocally condemned the terrible acts of their coreligionists, people would have a better opinion of them as a group.

I agree that not every muz in this country poses an existential threat, but I am convinced based on numerous observations starting as far back as 1993 to the present day that I cannot rationally extend that courtesy to all muz because there is such a high percentage of muz, and specifically muz, as they are an existential threat.

If there were a bunch of Catholics from Northern Ireland coming here and a couple of them kept blowing shit up and killing Protestants I would have zero problem with putting a halt on immigration of Catholics from there until we could ensure that the ones coming here weren't of "kill the Protestant heretics" variety. Because that is the sensible thing to do. to say "no you can't do that because it prevents the good ones from coming" is fucking insane.

257 Islam is a not a religion as Westerners now think of it. It is a totalitarian system that encompasses all aspects of life. Church and state are one, the same thing, and that is a totalitarian entity. What was the ol' creed, nothing outside the State, everything within the State?

That's Islam. And that was its very *purpose*. A system to enable and perpetuate conquest and tyranny.

Now, if it could be "reformed", defanged into something that was a pure religion, maybe it could "co-exist", but that would not be real Islam, as written down by the lunatics who created it.

"I see people here and elsewhere who presume that all Muslims are, if not outright terrorists, then one small step away from terrorism.
I can't abide by such assumptions. I would rather that each individual be judged by his/her own merits."

Unfortunately, we can no longer assume that about Muslims. IIRC some of those dead people in SB threw the killers a baby shower. Even with some or most liberal scum at this point, you can assume they aren't being to kill heathens.

"No one here would abide by the assumption that because they are, say, gun owners, that they are one small step away from mass murder."

Noone here, but liberal scum do it all the time. Nothing wrong with turning the tables on them.

"That would be offensive to them, and rightly so. I don't think they should be lumped in with the terrorists."

I just don't give a flying fuck what liberal scum and their allies think any more. You may be in denial of the fact that everybody is already choosing sides for the coming civil war. Liberals and Muslims vs. Conservatives and Christians. Muzzies are currently doing the dirty work. Eventually, they all want in on the game.

Thank you for your comments, I really do appreciate them. I do sometimes get caught up in my libertarian fervor.
I am fine with additional scrutiny of individuals from majority Muslim nations. I think that is prudent.
But a blanket rejection of everyone who belongs to a certain religion? I can't support that. Your Muslim colleagues whom you say would not harm a fly, would you say that they pose a security risk to the US? I don't think so. They would be unfairly treated by any US policy that was based on religion alone. Now I don't suggest that anyone has a RIGHT to enter the US, they don't. So if these individuals can pass any additional scrutiny that might be applied to potential immigrants or refugees from Nigeria, then I say, that's fine, even if those individuals describe themselves as Muslim.
I do think Islam promotes violent behavior and that is unfortunate. But in this country I think we should punish actual behavior, not "potential" behavior. Otherwise it is just punishment of thoughtcrime, which is a very dangerous road to travel. There are LOTS of people who promote violent behavior that has nothing to do with any religion.

This is the problem, chemjeff. The co-workers of the San Bern terrorist probably thought he didn't want anything to do with destroying America, until he showed up with the missus (who had been given a baby shower by those same co-workers) and murdered them in cold blood. The woman jihadi killed in Belgium had been quite the party girl.

All of these terrorists and terrorist wannabes have one common denominator - Islam, a religion that gives them sanction to commit terrible acts in the name of Allah.

How do you know that "plenty" of them are peaceful? The Muslims I know seem peaceful and maybe they are, but for all I know, they are hearing "kill the infidels" every Friday at the mosque. Do you know they are not? Nobody's monitoring those places and the left blows a fuse when Trump suggested they should be.

After the SB attack, I realized I really couldn't trust any of them any more. What they say and how they act around infidels might be very different from what they say and act when they are around each other.

No one is "punishing" anything.

We are at war with islam because islam is by definition at war with everyone who doesn't submit to it. We are a subset of their 'everyone who doesn't submit to it.' We don't get a say in that, short of submissions, which is not an option for any Jew, Christian, or patriotic American.

We only get to choose how, or at this point, whether we defend ourselves, or if we will just lie down and bleed out for their amusement.

chemjeff, if people trusted that the government was actually doing their due diligence on refugees, people issued visas, and had some control of illegal immigrants, I don't think they'd be as worried.

The problem is -- our government says "ISIS has nothing to do with Islam" and commands our screeners to not even ask about beliefs, to not check social media, to not do any due diligence whatsoever. Because that'd be racist.

So the rational response to that is, "okay, fine -- then no more Muslims if the government is incapable or unwilling to screen people who have no RIGHT to be here in the first place."

For US citizens, I agree -- it needs to be a much different standard.

But we let in refugees and immigrants out of the goodness of our heart. We have no obligation to them.

Every time, the news would have a story about Israel. And every time, you'd start hearing this hissing sound. Some of the older Arabs would start hissing like snakes (literally) whenever the subject of Israel came up.

Fact is, even "peaceful" Arabs/Muslims define peace as driving Israel into the sea.

I think the problem, chemjeff, is trying to figure out which Muslims take Islam "seriously" and which don't.

The ones that do constitute a clear and present danger to the United States, precisely because Islam, as designed, is just simply totally inimicable to classical liberalism as embodied by the founding documents of the United States.

The ones that don't may or may not, depending on the myriad of other factors affecting the human psyche.

But the fact that somebody identifies as a Muslim IS A WARNING SIGN that they may in fact take it seriously.

We ignore the threat that a "fundamentalist" construction of the Koran poses to Western civilization at our imminent peril.

This does not mean that somebody who identifies as a Muslim is automatically a bad person. It does mean that he or she is unfortunate in his/her heritage or life choices, IMHO. And through their identification as a Muslim . that person has self-identified to singled his/herself out for suspicion and scrutiny, for the reasons described above.

This is unfortunate, but it isn't my fault. The fault is with Islam, and the terror and mayhem it has already spawned.

Posted by: Columbia at December 21, 2015 10:14 PM (s5o+q)

325 Chemjeff, I would say that no immigrant has a right to immigrate to the US, and if Muslims keep on causing trouble abroad and over here, the country is well within its right to severely restrict or even stop immigration of Muslims, out of an abundance of caution, as they say.

the fact is that a lot of innocent Muslims will be affected adversely,. they should take it up with their murderous coreligionists.

private institutions already discriminate against citizens of various countries. for example students in Nigeria and some other countries who are taking the SATs are restricted to certain forms of payment and have to do other stuff that others don't have to go through. and for good reason. This also affects honest Nigerians. At a point, I think some airlines require you to go to the airport to pay for your tickets, which is incredibly inconvenient.

But guess who I used to blame when I was affected. Friggin fraudulent Nigerians who were ruining things for the rest of us.

346 The problem, or a problem, with islam is a cultural issue.

You can call islam a religion if you want, but that part that is religion is a small part of the islamic culture.

A minor component of that culture - individually they expect others to conform to their religion in that we have taxi drivers refusing to carry passengers with booze or dogs, supermarket cashiers that refuse to ring up pork and other products, a large groups obstructing traffic en masse to pray.

IF even a small minority refuse to adapt customs and good order then that is sufficient reason to stop allowing further immigration until the newbies adapt. Sorry, prospective immigrants have no right to enter the country and if a few bad apples ruin it for them, then that is a problem with them.

A major component - historically, except when these cultures do have military superiority, they like to go forth in small groups and kill women, children, pretty much anybody that cannot defend themselves. Meanwhile those who did not directly participate cry, "Don't hurt me". Then after a period of inactivity, another group from those who once cried "Don't hurt me" will go forth and kill women, children, pretty much anybody that cannot defend themselves. and so on and so forth... for as long as they are tolerated.

This is a cultural problem.

352 I wonder if a factor in underestimating the danger of Islam is that a lot of people don't really take their personal religion seriously, assuming they even have one.

I take my Christianity very seriously and believe in it 100% , so I can understand how a Muslim can take Islam very seriously.

I consider myself a Christian first before anything else, but my faith does not require me to conquer earthly governments. in fact it commands me to be subject to earthly authorities as long as they don't force me to disobey God. so I can be a patriotic, loyal American and a good Christian.

Islam is very different and dictates every single aspect of the Muslim's life, frequency in ways that are incompatible with what we would consider a free society. And, what we consider free society is grounded in Judeo Christian principles.

I don't think any Syrian refugee, or any non-citizen for that matter, has any right to be here. There are plenty of ways to help Syrian refugees that don't involve transporting them to American soil.

But *IF* we are going to bring Syrian refugees here, I don't think it should be based on any religious test, to the extent allowed by law. Now the law allows certain religions to get preferential treatment if they can show they are being heavily persecuted and if that is the case then yes let them in, again, IF we are going to accept any at all.

376 I wonder if a factor in underestimating the danger of Islam is that a lot of people don't really take their personal religion seriously, assuming they even have one.

I think that is a lot of it.

Another issue is the assumption by many that the cultural values of the culture that they grew up in - based on Christian (and to a lesser extent Jewish) morality - is just "common sense," and have never thought carefully about where the definition of "good" and "evil" comes from. As a result, it is difficult to believe that other people why honestly and wholeheartedly subscribe to a radically different definition.

Yeah, but as we've seen with our immigration laws, if the government just refuses to follow the law and the will of the people... I don't know the answer.

I'm just saying that's the other side of the argument.

Personally, I think there are Muslims who we should admit to the US -- like our interpreters who we promised entrance to the US if they helped our soldiers in Afghanistan. But apparently they're low priority.

Instead we get the San Bernardino chick and countless other Muslims who hate us. While our terps languish.

So like I said, I don't know the answer. but "ban on all refugees and immigrants from Muslim countries" does not seem unreasonable to me. At least until we can put in place a verified system that we can all be reasonably confident in.

Not to say that every individual's beliefs are equivalent (they aren't) or that every individual has a right to be here (they don't), only to say that every individual is a human being with sincerely held beliefs that while we may not agree with them, we shouldn't punish either. that is all.

I've been wondering if there could be a plausible argument for reverse abrogation. Instead of the 'kill the infidels' Medina verses taking precedence, the earlier peace and love Medina verses do. If I recall correctly, Allah got 99 name but bitch ain't one. Surely one of them is Guardian of Space-Time and maybe Allah meant for the Koran to be some reverse Memento shit. The Koran doesn't really have a linear narrative so it's not totally implausible.

416 You've all probably met someone who, when asked what religion they are,
replies something like "I'm a Baptist. But I don't go to church; I don't
believe in all that organized rigamarole." They are sorta Christians,
but don't spend a whole lot of time examining their belief or spend any
time trying to follow all the tenets.

Then something happens to
them (internally or externally), and they become Born Again or even go
full bore and join the priesthood or a nunnery. They become devout. I do
not fear these people. Their religious intensity poses no personal risk
to me or mine.

I also think that quite a few muslims fall into
the 'sorta' category. And I don't fear those muslims. But if they become
or are devout, they become dangerous to everyone around them.
Non-devout spouses or children, infidels, other muslim sects, apostates,
blasphemers -- Any or all of these triggers may set them off to act
violently.

And since devoutness is a wholly internal affair, how
can you tell when one muslim is a danger to others? Even non-devout
muslims retain that latency of change in intensity of belief.

National policy is not about individuals. It is about groups, nations, and regions. It's absurd to think that the gov't can individually vet more than an extremely small number of people. Constantly repeating this refrain won't make it reality.

As others have repeatedly pointed out, Muslims follow a religion that if followed, is dangerous to us. It's not our job to figure out how to vet them. It's their job to change Islam. And it's not going to happen if we keep thinking it's just a few bad apples.

It also has higher ammo capacity.

Chemjeff,
We the USA do not make illegals & refuges assimilate to our ways. That is why most don't want them here.

My grandparents & greatgrandparents, different sides, came to U. S. In late 19th century or early 20th century. They had to assimilate, learn English, pass medical tests & be humiliated according to an Italian neighbor who came here in 1956, had to prove that her father had trade & sponsor that would support them.

I want that law back & that SOB Ted Kennedy, my former senator was behind most of the worse laws of 20th century.

I've been trying, unsuccessfully, all afternoon to take a nap.

Good Night!

Assimilate, learn English & get a job & we can take some.

Matthew 7:16

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Sorry to go Biblical on you, but "from your works you shall know them" sort of triggered that. I didn't even realize that the whole section began with "Beware of false prophets."

Spooky.

Herein lies your problem, I think.

"One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong . . ."

Islam is not JUST a "religion." It is a political-social-religious system, all wrapped up into one tightly wrapped package. It is what it is.

Now, SOME "Muslims" choose to IGNORE certain fundamental features of Islam, such as abrogation, although it's well known that the later, more "authoritative" verses of the Koran are far, far, FAR more strident, militant, and intolerant than the earlier verses.

But that does not mean that Islam, as a "religion," is in any conceivable way compatible with American classical liberal democratic republicanism.

It is not.

ISLAM IS DIFFERENT than any other religion on Earth. You really need to understand that. I'm starting to get the feeling that you don't.

You can jury-rig pretty much all the other major world's religions to be compatible with classical-liberalism. You can't do that with Islam. It's specifically in the Koran that any change to the Koran's doctrines is not allowed. I don't think any other religion actually closed off the avenues to reformation in quite that same unequivocal manner.

That's why it's different. That's why somebody who calls themselves a Muslim MUST endure a level of scrutiny in order to be admitted to a classical-liberal society that somebody from another religion maybe might avoid.

How come gay marriage and women in combat are never "recruiting tools"?

Leave aside the fact.that Gitmo doesn't cause terrorists, terrorists cause Gitmo. And forget that $150 Billion to Iran is a pretty great terrorist recruiting tool. And never mind that a dead terrorist can't recruit anybody.

Maybe Democrats should ask themselves why they like the same policies as the terrorists.
